My girlfriend and I are frequent visitors to the filmhuis which is next to the restaurant. The husband and wife team serve honest, no fuss excellent quality Japanese food at very affordable prices. We order the same food every time we visit and these have not failed to disappointt. Well, maybe the big portions;-p

I have been there several times over the last 20-25 years during the week, work related and some time with my wife during a weekendbreak. The only negative point is: it's very busy during the weekend. because the relation between the price and the food. So if you'r not in a hurry enjoy also yor weekend. p.s. very nice staff

The restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday evening, what we didn't mind a lot. The waitress was friendly and the ambient was rather fine. The prices on the meals were high, but I guess the ingredients and high quality is worth it. I can highly recommend the Tuna Steak, it comes with pickled vegetables and tomato sauce.

Wine abd dinner in a Bert cosy place!
Character is a relatively small restaurant with some seating outdoors (weather permitting), but the intimate atmosphere is great, and the food is terrific! We sat at the table nearest the kitchen, and were able to watch Chef Mila make every dish herself in a very compact area. We had homemade ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta, and coated in pesto for our starter, and our mains were sea bass (zeebar) with antiboise, and a venison filet with port reduction. Dessert was homemade Crepe Suzette at the suggestion of the chef, which was delicious. Our two girls had panko crusted gambas with mango chutney, and loved them. Highly recommend Character Gastrobar by Mila, and we're happy to have a great new restaurant in the heart of Wassenaar! PS - the friets are great too!

At the top of the dunes enjoying the marvelous sea view you can have lunch or dinner inside or out. People arrive from walking on the beach or just for food and/or drinks. Food is simple but good and the atmosphere is pleasurable. The restaurant is open all year, so in wintertime it is good to get warm inside. A restaurant to go to anytime!
Just a fish shop driven by ladies that know how to clean fish and how to prepare it. My weekly herring always is of top quality. But also the "roodbaars" (red snapper like) and "kabeljauw" (cod) belong to my favorites. All fish is fresh and thus can be used for sushi and sashimi. Recommended!

Strandpaviljoen is een seizoens bedrijf en geopend van de tweede week maart tot het laatste weekend van september.
A popular, friendly restaurant on the beach, this has become a firm family favourite, partly due to the warm personal welcome, but also because the owners know all about dealing with allergies including gluten, fish, nut, egg and dairy. Two of our kids have coeliac disease and need to eat gluten free. This is one place we go back to, time and again, because the staff are so well informed and offer a wide number of suitable options on the menu. Great value and friendly service.

What a gorgeous meal we had here tonight. We wondered around Wassenaar and weren't sure what we wanted to eat. Pasta was mentioned by my youngest so I went on trip advisor to find Italian restaurants, da Italo came highly recommended, therefore we turned up and were seated with such warmth. We were all given a mini bruchetta when we Sat. Once we ordered our food bread and garlic butter was brought out. Our little ones had a smaller spaghetti bolognese and the other a slightly smaller lasagne. I had fillet steak with peppercorn sauce cooked rare, this came with fried potatoes, steamed veg and garlic/chilli spaghetti. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak with gorgonzola, he said it was really powerful in flavour, which made it even more delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and very kind to our children. A great family restaurant with delicious food. A must if you love Italian food and wine. The Chianti was delicious.
