This place has amazing decorations and a lovely husband and wife team running it. I think her name was Natalie. We had not booked but were warmly welcomed. We were watched over by the lobsters in the tank awaiting their fate. The place has real history... We had a very good meal. My starter was soup de poisson followed by Scallops a la Normande. The latter was very rich and I could not finish it... Natalie told me off in a good-humoured way, in French, and said I was "not allowed" to have pudding! I had a Calvados instead... Not the cheapest of places but this is Trouville and the food was excellent. We would definitely return. Next time for lobster! Thanks a lot, we love our job and the Best, it's when the guest are like you, simply "adorables", we hope to see you again in our restaurant, with pleasure !!!!Nathalie

Sur les celebres planches de Deauville, le Ciro's Barriere propose une cuisine ambitieuse qui met a l'honneur les produits de l'ocean.
Nearby cafes were already closed and I tried to get a quick drink here despite the higher prices but a waiter arrogantly said they were fully booked for the evening (although really only several tables were taken) and recommended to go elsewhere.

Fish shop selling fresh fish, but for lunch they serve dishes as well. We ate an excellent seafood platter for an excellent price. They serve good wines. Not a very romantic place , just go for the excellent fresh food and you will really enjoy! You can watch the people who prepare the food.Dear somanynicetripsThank you for taking to share your experience at the Etoile des mers, your feelings are very valuable for we. One of the few restaurants in Houlgate that starts serving food before 7pm for dinner, La Maison du Coquillage caters very well for your typical British family. Good value, especially with the set menu. I had the tasty tuna, avocado and goats cheese to start. Main was moules mariniere (only slight complaint is the taste of wine could have been more subtle). The kids menu is more basic with daughter number one plumping for chicken nuggets. Overall, itâs worth it. One note of caution for British tourists; there is the French habit of the kidsâ food coming first. That means you end up eating your main with the stress of keeping your sprogs entertained.

Very good quality food, decent wine at reasonable prices in Pots and good selection in bottles.English Menu (Carte) available and English understood. The Carte is limited, however as long as it is changed often that would be fine as most tastes are covered. A meal for 2 with 3 courses and house wine cost 86 Euros. Set menu options are available at lunch time but not in the evening. A very welcome addition to the Dives and Cabourg restaurants, I wish it well. I also hope that they will publish an email address for bookings.Thank you for your comment to see you soon adeline and frank.

On my previous visit to Normandy, I visited the place and was very pleased with the experience. This time, we were looking for a good "frutta di mare" meal and this restaurant came to my mind. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh, tasty and with a good variety, with all the flavors of Normandy cuisine. We combined mussels and a plate of sea food and enjoyed our meal immensely. It really depends on the taste, however, sea food is an acquired taste and it might not be to everybody's pleasure. For those who love it (like we do), it was a real treat.Service was as usual in French restaurants, one has to manage expectations. And I will probably never get used to the restaurants in France, Italy, Spain... being closed between 2.30 - 7 pm. But, c'est la vie!

So this place is right on Normandy beach. the view is amazing and the history that goes along with it. I went with a large group who speaks French I however do not speak French. They had an English menu which helped out a lot. They have a menu that offers 2 or 3 courses for a set price and this is what we all went with. I had a seafood app seabass as a main and an apple tart for dessert. The food was amazing I loved every bit of it. I didn't notice any problem with the service as I don't speak French but was told after that the service wasn't very good possible just didn't notice anything wrong as I couldn't understand what was being said back and forth. the prices were good considering the level of quality the location and the amount of food you get

Right on the embanquement, just above the beach, and with a wonderful view on the sea and the sunset, this is probably the best restaurant in Villers-sur-Mer (at least this is what our host advised, and we can not certainly disagree). Formal and efficient service, great seafood (and I am sure the meats as well), it is not cheap - but worth every euro you spend. A beautiful place, we'll be back!

We chose the place because we could see the ocean when sitting outside. Everything seemed simple but we just wanted to have some lunch with our kids. Despite the simplicity and prices the food and service were excellent. Very friendly and personal service as well as an awesome selection of local specialties - the âfondueâ plate was amazing. Great beer and cocktails too, great menue and service for children. Never expected this in a touristic area. Do try this place!
