After a morning of exploring the old town we decamped to Ristorante Margunaira for a late lunch. It is a modern restaurant with plenty of clean lines, white linen and light, airy ambience. The food was superb and the service outstanding. As a starter I had a caponata with prawns and mozarella. The depth of flavour extracted from the humble ingredients of the caponata was amazing. My main course was brochettes of sea bream main on a bed of potatoes with thyme and sweet red tropea onions. It was just a simple dish incredibly well executed with wonderful ingredients.

So, I'm writing this review although I'm embarrassed to write that of all the charming Ventimiglia Old Town restaurants, or even a so-so dining place with a magnificent sea front view, I came here to save a few euros for lunch. 10⬠sushi lunch buffet plus drink. Yuk. Cheap udon mushy noodles; overcooked rubbery shrimp with something that looks like seafood but is a soy type/potato dough. Fried stuff. I love seaweed salad, which can be pricey, so I figured, ok, I'll have a nice salad. How can even that be mushy? The only texture came from fried stuff. There is a thin salmon sliver on a fat rolled rice for sushi with a prior poster's warning that you must eat all that you take, so I was judicious in my selections. (I confess that I tossed a few rice rolls in the handy bin under the ashtray near the door.) Of course, wasting plates of food isn't right, but this place is most assuredly about the minimal seafood, and there is no sashimi--it's about cheap fattening rice, noodles and fried Foods. The salmon on the sushi rice was almost room temp, barely chilled. I didn't try the brown soupy meat something, or the fried rice or fried tiny rolls with what looks like a few morsels of filling. I feel stupid! I spend many thousands of dollars on a holiday and I elected to spend 12⬠for buffet and water vs 25⬠for a lovely salad and glass of wine overlooking the sea. And more importantly, hours of time here. I did appreciate some fresh fruit at the end. Very tasty sweet pineapple, but it was only with mushy chopped apple. Dear tripadvisor group, please avoid my error and enjoy your meal elsewhere. Far better to buy fruit, cheese, bread etc and picnic rather than eat this garbage food if you want to save some dining money. Some lessons take us longer to learn than others.

Whenever we are in ventimiglia we visit "Ristorante da Daniele".We had been there yesterday for lunch and it had been again just great.Real italian atmosphere, we had been the only tourists, friendly and family style atmosphere.I had, together with my wife, frittura mista as starter; just perfect, extremly well done.Afterwards, as main course, my wife had spaghetti alio / olio - she loved it, so did I with my spaghetti frutta di mare.We loved the time and will come back soon.....

We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of the B+B we were staying in. The seafood was simply exquisite, beautiful presentation and wonderful flavours, great wine list as well and we felt all in all it was very reasonable . Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and if ever I go back to Ventimeglia I'll be there again.

Anna and Emanuele again surpassed our expectations with their refined gourmet tasting menu. The interesting thing of this restaurant is that everything is made of the some of the simplest ingredients yet of the highest possible quality.Everything comes with a detailed explanation, the combination of the ingredients virtuous and the wines assorted with the dishes.Worth a long long drive...

Pizzeria Ristorante forno a legna
Visited on market day, arrived at midday, by 12.30 the place was rammed. 3 of us had pizzas, proper wood fired light and crispy Italian pizzas, all delicious. One of us had carbonara, really egg yolky, rich and very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Meal was great value. Highly recommend. Grazie Mille

had a great lunch here, in a very nice plaza, they found some gluten free pasta for my wife and did it with a prawn sauce, i had monk fish all done well with nice breads etc.. and a frozen lemon mousse. if I was staying in the area would drop in for dinner, but lunch is well worth a try if you can get a seat.

During an 8-night stay in Apricale with our young adult children, we twice enjoyed having dinner at Marco Polo. Dining there is a truly remarkable experience. The first night we hopped about the menu. Everything was fantastic. The second night, we all enjoyed the Ocean Menu. Each course was AMAZING. This chef innovates at the intersection of the Mediterranean Sea and the hinterland of Liguria. Perhaps this is perfectly illustrated by one of the Ocean Menu coursesâravioli with rabbit and sea urchin, fresh burrata, thyme. (Upon our return from the trip, we reminisced by each sharing our singularly favorite bite of the entire multi-city journey. Every person who received the ravioli cited this dish as his/her favorite dish of the trip.) The entire experience is wonderful. Lovely restaurant, immediately on the sea with beautiful views of the coast. Very warm and professional service. Perfect wine recommendations/selections. The dining experience is layered and unfolds with surprises (amuse bouche, palate cleanser, etc.) that Iâll decline to elaborate upon so you may perhaps enjoy the delight of the completely unexpected, delicious morsel arriving to your table. Iâve posted a photo of the Ocean Menu. Other beautiful full menus are available, too, as well as à la carte selections. Salt-encrusted sea bassâ¦langoustineâ¦lobster fricassee pastaâ¦leeks with razor clams and black truffleâ¦red mulletâ¦fritto mistoâ¦the pistachio gelatoâ¦the tarte tatinâ¦delicious! My photos of the plates do not do them justice so I wonât post them, but images may be found on Facebook (Diego Pani) and Instagram (dede_pani). When a visitor to the area, please make a point to experience this restaurant early in your stay so youâre able to return and enjoy it againâ¦and again. We simply canât wait to return.

NIce place in the old town of Bordighera. We had lunch on the terrace with a view out over the old town to the sea. Relaxing and sunny. Nice choices on the menu that was translated by the wait staff - very helpful. I had the Coniglio alla Ligure and my wife had ravioli. The rabbit was excellent and surprisingly presented like a large pot pie. My wife's ravioli she thought was over done and reheated. Dessert was excellent as was the house wine. Very reasonably priced at Euros 55. Service was good although the orders were switched but we easily switched plates!!Overall worth the visit.
