Went here several times over a weeks break. One Euro for a small glass of wine and 50 cents for most tapas. Really friendly people and a great tasting menu

Just as we were heading out of the marina a local man asked if we were looking for a place to eat - this is where the locals eat.Very big potions and much cheaper than the restaurants nearer the marina. Very fresh and tasty. Instead of French fried with our fish we got amazing cooked vegetables . Highly recommended. Go for the food -if itâs atmosphere you are looking for there is less of that.

We are from of Caleta Vélez Port, on the seafront of Caleta de Velez, is located this specialized in homemade foods, meats and fish of the day inn. It is a good place for tapas, as it has a small terrace from which you can admire the seafront.
We used this restaurant every time we visit the Saturday Street market that runs along the main road running through Calera de Velez, booking our table before immeditaely on arrival and before going to the market.Today we arrived late, walking from Torre del Mar along the coastal path, to find that every outside table and most inside tables, even with the new inside extension, we fully booked. Fortunately there was just my wife and myself and we managed to get a high table outside the bar entrance.Food as usual was very good. Good sized portions, served promptly and with great food and drink prices. Recommended. If you want to eat the the house half side of a BBQ'd chicken kt is advisable to book that dish when booking your table. Otherwise its a 40/45 minute wait for chicken as its cooked fresh to order.

We had eaten here before and found the food and service good but were very disappointed with our last visit. There were eight of us celebrating a birthday - salads were smaller than on previous visits and several main courses were served without any vegetables or garnish. We ordered several bottles of the house wine as we had done before but they were of very poor quality on this occasion. The bill came to approx 218 euros and five 50 euro notes were given to the waiter - after several minutes he came back stating there was only 200 euros in total. There were a number of witnesses to the amount given and the waiter went away and came back after about 15 minutes to say they had found the missing note ! Not at all impressed and wonât be going back.

Bar Negri is nicely distancing itself from the sleazy old school authentic tapas bar and from the anonymous or fancy tourist trap alike. The interior may reflect the rather touristic town setting but still not without charm and certainly showing an up to date interpretation of the traditional â and most wanted â way of displaying the fresh choice of seafood and dishes as an integrated part of the long, narrow bar/counter. This early afternoon the staff was lavishly attentive in exactly that way, I like it. Preparations are as fresh and delicious as you can possibly expect. Nothing fancy, just approachable, appealing, tasty. We were three generations from age 10 to 70 at the bar, having at least 8 different plates, white wine and sodas, everyone extremely happy.

Chose the restaurant as it was opposite the Hotel Torremar where we were staying for one night. Service was friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, well presented, and portions were generous. Reasonably priced wine list.

Excellent fish and seafood selection. Extremely popular but very accommodating and it was not an issue being squeezed in on a table or even at the bar. We have been several times and it has always been great. Recommend the paella and the Russian salad. Thank you very much
