Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Varenna, Lombardy, Italy. Varenna is a slow-paced destination—most visitors come here to relax by the lake. But even if "Working on my tan" is the #1 thing on your itinerary, take some time to explore the area. There’s the Castello di Vizio, a medieval fortress surrounded by an olive grove. And you’ll want to view the old, tiered gardens at the Villa Cipressi—they stretch all the way down to the water. Finally, visit the source of the Fiumelatte, a peculiar river—it’s only 250 m long and disappears from October to March.

Had a lovely last evening in Bellagio. Walked from Hotel du Lac to the restaurant, following the lovely lake path to an incline that worked off calories soon to enter our bodies. As we approached the beautiful al fresco dining area we saw several police cars and learned later in the evening that the very discreet staff had been serving a politician or government official in our midst. At the end of his meal, whoever-he-was had a police and security escort as he left. (It is a sign of the staff's professionalism that no other diners knew he was there and the person suffered no interruptions.)The service was exemplary....timing, manners, attitudes. This restaurant was extremely kind to me, a person with celiac disease, and offered an alternate bread basket, lovely GF pasta with white truffles and options for other courses. They had a can-do attitude about making my night just as special as my husband's food-wise. You don't forget places that treat you like this. The food was wonderful...three courses and dessert ....not the tasting menu. We chose a la carte. The wine professional was knowledgeable and assisted with a great selection from three my husband had narrowed down. My husband collects wine but always like to lean on local expertise and try something new when vacationing....the gentleman who assisted was professional and loves his job. We had fun watching a neighborhood dog (VERY well-behaved), waiting down the road for any leftovers that came his way. Precious! Thanks for a great evening with a special setting that cannot easily be matched.

Last meal was the best. 19:30 and we needed a restaurant. Went to the balcony and got a very serene setting. First started out with a Perfect Aperol spritz. They started out with complimentary duck breast that was out of this world. We had the pasta marinara. Very well cooked,al dente. The desert was to die for and the service was very nice. Very quiet and off the beaten path and not touristy at all. Well, worth the money. We loved the professional service and how peaceful and quiet the meal was.Dear guests, we are glad you enjoyed your last meal at our restaurant Royal Gourmet before living Varenna. You can take an aperitif before dinner at our bar in the garden and then take a sit in one of our tables with an amazing view by the lake at sunset. We propose a menu with different choises using local products but creating tasting dishes from the starter to the dessert. Our staff is always at your disposal for any need or suggestion making your stay as perfect as we can, also helped from the beautiful scenario our restaurant is situated in.The ManagmentRistorante Royal Gourmet - R Collection Hotels

For Lunch And Dinner With The Wide Range Of Fresh Lake Fishkichten Open From Noon Till Late Evening
I grew up in Wisconsin and my favorite fish is lake perch. Iâve tried ocean perch which was nothing like it. Varenna is of course on Lake Como so when I was told the âtraditionalâ dish here is fried lake perch on risotto, I started checking out the best restaurant to get it at. Cavallino is it. We shared a caprese salad. It was really good. The mozzarella was softer and creamier than in America and the tomatoes everywhere in Italy are wonderful. My husband ordered the skewered beef and rosemary potatoes. He said it was good and there was a lot of it. I got the perch and risotto dish and it was better than any fish dish Iâve had in Italy (we have been all over Italy this past month). They dip it in flour and sauté it so no heavy breading like American fried fish. Service was amazing too. Our waiter Michael came around with blankets when the wind picked up. It wasnât even cold out but he was charming and very easy to talk to. This place is right where the ferry boat comes in so it has a great view. Prices were a secondary concern but I was pleased that their prices are less than comparable restaurants in town. If you are coming by ferry, I suggest you come during the afternoon, stopping and making a reservation (choosing the table you want) walking further into town or hiking up to the castle and coming back for dinner. Alternatively you could eat lunch here.

We enjoyed a very relaxing lunch here today. We were a little unsure when we saw the menu, but we each enjoyed our entree. We had:Veal with tuna sauce (sounds weird but very good)DuckTroutChicken with zucchini Tagliatelle with tomatoes This place is not traditional Italian food. The portions are a bit on the small side, but youâre paying for the view. Service was efficient.

This was our second dinner at this restaurant. The first time we stayed in a different hotel, but had dinner here one evening. It was so good (and more refined than other restaurants in Varenna) that we wanted to eat here again. We had booked a table in advance and had a lovely dinner on the terrace. The staff is friendly and attentive. This time we opted for a 3 course dinner. On our first visit we took 4 courses and that was too much for us. All courses were very good, especially the chocolate soufle! You can order wines by the glass, by the caraf or the bottle. We ordered some carafs so we could drink white wine with the starter and red with the main dish.

This restaurant is probably the best example that a ton of TA stickers doesnât mean itâs a great place.Menu is average. Plates are adequately prepared and pasta are perfectly cooked. Too much salt, perhaps to compensate a lack of herbs and seasoning that would make the plates great.Deserts like the two cheesecakes made with pana cotta could be original, wouldnât it be too much sugar; like the salt above. We found the two senior staff/owner rude with their personal -thinking we didnât speak Italian. Thatâs was really unfortunate and left us with an unpleasant image of the place.Itâs very unusual for me to end a review without a positive note. But there isnât. mi dispiace ma noi non abbiamo avuto nessuna persona da Ginevra il cameriere conosce tutte le pronunce

Surrounded by the Pre-Alps and one of the most striking views of Lake Como, at La Vista Restaurant you can dine in the open air admiring spectacular sunsets, making you soothed by the magic of summer evenings where dominating is the lake's atmosphere. The
The view here is incredible, and the maitre d working when we visited was excellent. Unfortunately the rest of the wait staff let this place down. We ordered drinks and mains and our mains arrived before our drinks....we also had a long wait in getting the bill (3 tables were waiting in total to pay). The food was fine and the wine selection very good.
