A lovely dinner. Had a huge group and meals came out quickly. We had a toddler with us and they were great with her. Staff were very helpful. Recommend highly! We are staying in a villa one street away and wandered down for lunch yesterday. What a fabulous Jimbaran find this was - loved everything about it.Location is directly across from the Jimbaran Bay seafood restaurants that line the sand (no need to visit them !!) - instead try some wonderful Spanish style tapas and fabulous staff hospitality at Akua de Bilbao in a great setting/location, looking through gardens across to the beach.Complimentary bread and 'spanish olive oil' served on arrival and we followed that with potato bravas, barbeque grilled mixed vegetables, meatballs and a garden salad. We could easily have chosen another half dozen plates quite easily from the menu and Specials Board.Relaxing, great service, beers, sangrias or wines as well as cocktails,.Really enjoyed our visit and the number of Spanish guests who arrived while we were there probably confirms its a place chosen by those who know their tapas and Spanish foods.Ola !!!!

My 3rd visit since 2014, at the exact spot I was here just 5 years ago, inside looks the same yet they have spruced it for upmarket tastes⦠you can see the various Japanese whiskey bottles at the Teppan!Walking in at 1pm, a group of 6 were just leaving and we had the restaurant all to ourselves till 1.30pm :) The other dine in area separated from the Teppan was occupied by a few other tablesâ¦I'd looked at the online menu which is the same except the physical ones are really worn down⦠I prefer the pdf!My wife ordered the Wagyu course which included a young Teppanyaki Chef "Juli" who cheered us with an updated repertoire of acrobatics and antics that entertained & is such a joy to experienceI chose the ala carte menu which was deliciousSalmon Croquete: so creamy & yummy YUMz x3 Camembert Cheese: this is a sight, I believe there is too many slices of garlic bread for the 3 slices of cheese and letting it melt all the way down delivers a thin crisp that's just right, if you've been spreading just the melted cheese it doesn't have that salted taste that the crisp had YUM x2Dobin Mushi: a mushroom soup with a dash of lime served in a pot & little teacups YUMzTuna Tataki - oh YUMz x2Spring Roll - not exactly what you'd expected, there are 2 twists yet delicious but more doughy than flaky YUMzMushroom Karaage: like Tempura but the sauce takes it up YUMzDefinitely the best places in all of Bali to experience a Japanese meal :)Hello,Thank you in advance for your review and trusting us as your favourite Restaurant. The soothing sound of the ocean waves, your feet in the sand, a gentle breeze through the tablecloth â that is the exact feeling you will experience through having dinner at restaurant Ma Joly in Bali. This restaurant provides an exclusive, intimate destination right at the coastal line of the Indian Ocean. Our team had the chance to dine in one of the few romantic tents located in front of the restaurant. The unique setting on itself makes this restaurant already worth the visit and therefore, we were extra curious about the quality of the dinner and the service at Ma Joly. The chef prepared a special âOhh Cuisine menuâ, which we always really appreciate. The menu was based on the signature dishes of the chef. After our welcome cocktails, the culinary party could begin! The menu started with a dish consisting of warm poached prawns and a potato salad. The prawns were tremendously tasteful and fleshy â exactly what you should expect from a restaurant which could not have been closer to the ocean. The potato led to a nice addition in differing texture next to the mellow gamba. As a second course, the âMa Joly seafood bouillabaisseâ was served to us. This bisque with inter alia gambaâs, crab and crayfish was filled with local Indonesian spices and came over as nicely salty and fresh. A fine piece of Hollandaise gratin beef tenderloin formed the core of our main course. Besides the tenderloin, our plate was filled with some cream pumpkin-potatoes mousseline, edamame, vegetables and a rosemary flavored beef jus. Notwithstanding the fact that we found this dish to be quite regular and not that much surprising on the menu, the presentation of it made it a greatly interesting one. Since the main course had a high level of quantity, we had to save some space to taste the dessert: vanilla mousse in a chocolate roll with some tasteful coconut ice cream, sweet raspberry gelee, sesame seeds and a deep red wine sauce at the side of this all. Once again, the nice presentation of the dish formed a big plus. With all courses, the same wine was served: Two Islands. This is a wine you see a lot in Bali. Despite the fact that the waiters did not mention the story behind the Two Islands wine, we know the origin of this wine is quite an interesting one. Since the excise on alcohol is respectively rather high in this country, the base of this wine (the grape juice) is created in Australia. After the juice creation in Australia, the unfermented juice gets imported to Bali without having to charge the high excise duties for alcohol. In Bali, the fermentation takes place, which ultimately leads to the actual (Balinese) Two Islands wine. Even though this wine is quite nice, it would be a big step up to pour actual pairing wines with the courses at Ma Joly. This way, there would be reached the most out of the taste of the fine dishes. All in all, Ma Joly offers a fantastic dining setting where you can truly admire the most beautiful sunset while having a fine dinner.

Did not end up with any good experiences the last few trips when I got the drivers to recommend sunset seafood dinner at Jimbaran. Relied on TripAdvisor's reviews this time round & visited the highly rated & recommended Bawang Merah Beachfront restaurant (against my driver's wishes)!!! This restaurant is situated just next to Ibiza Beach Club (very cool & funky) & quite away from the crowds. There were about 10 to 15 tables on the beach front which was pretty cosy and not overly congested, perfect for my family dinner. Pricewise I won't consider it cheap, but the group of 4 adults & 1 toddler, we had the Royal Family Honeymoon package which comes with a large lobster (at least 1 Kg), 1 large grilled snapper, calamaris, 8 large king prawns, 8 clams & 4 juices for about IDR 3 million (inclusive of taxes). Food was very presentable & sufficient for us and we found the seafood delicious. No complaints this time round as the price was agreed with Mr. Gede upon ordering & the food delivered was up to expectations. A good experience finally...

We sat outside watching the sunset having drinks with family and friends. Once the sunset had set we ordered our food. The starters arrived pretty quickly and they were delicious . More drinks before our main courses arrived, wow the dishes arrived and the food looked yummy and well presented. I can highly recommend the Boardwalk, will go there on our next year's holiday. We have been coming here for 15 years or so, usually staying at Discovery and spending many a dinner at Tepan. We keep coming back because the atmosphere of the restaurant, against the fabulous Discovery gardens is beautiufl. And the food was second to none because the chef was Japanese. This trip unfortunatley (we've been told a change in Management?) we have been so disappointment with the food in both the KuKi Bar and Tepan. Calamari in both places you could have bounced off the floor; food overcooked and Tepan Chef is not Japanese (But we were told Indonesian) which is obvious in their efforts to create Japanese food. The meat and seafood (which was frozen!!!) were tough and overcooked and relied heavilly on a very sweet sauce to try and make something of the hot grill bbq. Never again. Sorely disappointment. Staff you can't fault - they are wonderful and personable. Management needs to up their anti and supply top products (and perhaps secure a chef experienced in Japanese flavours and cooking techniques because you do advertise yourself as a Japanese restaurant).Dear Dani0209,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent experience at Tepan Noodle Restaurant.
