Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Tropea. If you come across "cipolla di Tropea"-flavored gelato, you might worry that you’ve forgotten your Italian… or are losing your mind. Don’t fret. "Cipolla" does mean onion, and yes, that is indeed onion gelato. The local red onions are so popular that they’ve even made it into dessert. Tropea, like so many towns on the Amalfi Coast, has a gorgeous cliffside setting. Beneath those cliffs, you’ll find beautiful, sandy beaches.

Found this restaurant tucked away on one of the narrow streets. The courtyard setting is beautiful and ideal for dinner (no outside seating). Enjoyed the food, we had the Tropean red onion soup and the antpasti platter followed by baked sea bream and escalopes in a lemon sauce. My only fault with the food was the tomatoes in the Tropean salad which were tasteless compared to the rich flavoursome tomatoes we usually have in this part of Italy. Service was ok if a bit slow and I really didn't like the way the waiter hung about the table when we were sorting out the bill.

We visited Tropea a year ago and ate here and had an absolutely delicious meal, so when we returned this year we ate at Nico e Lilly twice, once on Easter Day. My husband and I had two of the most delicious meals we've had in Italy, eating throughout the country! The restaurant is clean, the service perfect, and the food creative, delicious, and served hot! The wine choices are good and reasonably prices. Thank you Nico! It was good to see you again!

Restaurant, fast food. Here you can taste home made meatballs, vegetarian, chianina and angus sandwiches, meat cutting.
Arrived at 2:15 with my husband, a first waiter invited us to sit down but a second one refused to serve us saying âitâs closedâ when other people were waiting for their food. On internet it is supposedly open 24h. I understand the heat, but this attitude does not correspond to the good reviews we saw.

We travelled the west, the mountains and some parts of the East Coast of Calabria. After having so many fantastic lunches and dinners throughout our journey over 14 days, this one failed in all parts: no passion in their cooking, service and atmosphere: the place seems to rely on the booming tourism of Tropea only. One plus for one of the waiters doing a great job in saving two overcooked entrecote, a gnocchi and a tagliata without any passion. Mah...Per la serie CLIENTI STRESSATI consiglio: Relax and enjoy life !!!

This tiny place is well off the Main Street at the edge of old town Tropea but worth searching for. Itâs take-out but in the best way, you can sit outside with s lovely vista nearby and eat the freshest seafood imaginable al fresco. Best to trust the owners for what to order from mainly seafood choices which are the star here. He steered us towards the mixed seafood which at 10 euros including a glass of wine was good value. Charming, friendly service as your meal is prepared and cooked in front of you. Highly recommended!

Looking for a special night out, we chose "Alice Restaurant". Nice, intimate, outdoor setting. The service was fabulous, as was the food. Along with your Italian classics, the menu had creative and imaginative side to it too. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. Family run, the husband is your host, and the wife is the chef. When we were done he took us into the kitchen to meet her. Even shared a nice, complimentary, after dinner liquer with us. Would definitely recommend.

were here 3 years ago, where it was the best in town. this time it is just the most expensive in town. went for fish, but could only get smaller fish (orata, spigola) that was priced very high. wine is expensive (and not better than other restaurant - greco de tufo at 58 as i remember), antipasti is extremely expensive , and the waiter oversells (we ask for 4 to share for 6, we end up paying for 8) so will not come back - sorry!

Wow! I had one of my top 3 best pasta dishes ever in restaurant. Calamarata al gambero rosso. Service was great and personal, wonderful ambiance, candlelit tables, I felt pampered and special (I was alone but felt very comfortable) I will definately come back here.

Maybe expecting too much after reading TripAdvisor reviews, but I felt that the restaurant was just OK.The menu was typical of the area with nothing different to make it stand out.The food was well cooked and service although started well deteriorated as the restaurant got busier.Decent enough place for a meal but not what I was expecting.

We were here for three times. Every visit we've ordered pizza... everytime it was very good, especially I would recommend a capricciosa. The staff is friendly, but what we did not like is a slow staff. It took 10minutes when they noticed you need something, then took ten minutes when you received a bill, then took 10minutes until you got money back.. when you get a bill, check the line "pane" - "bread" it costs 3euro, also when you did not order it and did not received it... every visit. I think that if we had not better cooking restaurant in nearby, we would not return...
