We loved it here, proper Italian goodness...3 family generations working hard to please you, and as far as I'm concerned, succeeding big time.Delicious food, generous portions and very friendly service.I'd love to go back one day.

Arriving here in the early evening as the sun was setting was magical. Its position, on a hill overlooking the town and surrounded by a circle of conical hills, was stunning, and the restaurant was beautifully furnished with tables in red and white arranged on an extensive terrace. The service was attentive and discreet, speaking English if asked. I had an antipasto (aubergine parmigiana with crispy pancetta) and a main course (duck with poached pears and cinnamon). Friends chose from the grilled meats section of the menu. Good as they sounded, I don't think I could have managed a pasta course. Wines are good, local and moderately priced.

If you are strolling around these lovely hills and you are looking for a high level cuisine, high level service a charming location you can for sure stop here, Dal Contadino. Service was really excellent, as a Michelin restaurant, and the menu is rich of local recipes. We have tried "bigoli del contadino" with vegetables and sausage and it was great. Then we had a tartare served with a large choice of ingredients among which you can choose ( capers, egg, tobasco, anchovies etc). "Tagliata" was served a little bit cold but meat's quality was not in discussion. Good choice of local wines. Final bill is of course higher than a usual trattoria but value for money is ok. Book a table on the terrace overlooking vineyards because the inside is too big and more suitable for weddings etc.

The only problem with this place is that youâll want to taste everything and you canât fit it all! We were a group of 8, adults/kids celebrating my brotherâs bday and I can tell you definite highlights are: oysters (super super fresh!), beef carpaccio with truffles and parmesan and millefoglie cake with dark chocolate sauce..! Pizzas are also excellent although youâd want to try more sophisticated stuff here, itâs so worth it!!

We were informed about this restaurant by our hotel manager. it is hidden in the spectacular landscape of the Eugenian hills. the food was tasty, obviously authentic, not expensive and good prepared. There were, however, predominantly tourists, just 2 Italian couples were eating dinner. a very old Wisteria on the entrance, makes the impression of this nice restaurant complete. Good service, no WiFi however..

The Trattoria traces back guests to 1609 when Galileo Galilee stayed here, followed by other famous guests. Italian menu with English speaking service. Selection of home made antipasti, good risotto and perfect Tagliate. No space for dessert, maybe next time. Limited, but correct vine selection including my favorite vines from the South. Should come back...

The setting is lovely, the dining rooms lovely , the waiters happy , professional and helpful. BUT , THE FOOD DOES NOT MATCH THE PLACE !The pasta dishes were bland and tasteless . The stuffed zucchini flowers with porcini ricotta flavourless , the steak tartar machine blended and boring. The Branzino was dry , overcooked and tasteless. My friend did not eat it after two bites and the waiter did not ask her what was wrong , she is too polite to complain , but in the car going home she did. The grilled vegetables had been grilled where the fish had been , so the melanzane was fish flavoured , not good , not good. This restaurant needs a good cook , a new chef , someone with standards good enough to match the dining room presentation. There were also only about twenty diners here on a saturday night , when those that were not closed for vacation were fully booked out. What does that tell you. I just think it was a shame ....

The restaurant is "hidden" in a small side road near Abano and Montegrotto the two main spa area near Padova, you definitely to have a car and a GPS or be an "insider" to reach it. Nevertheless the search is worth the effort. The restaurant is quite large and very well furnished. The staff is definitely helpful, smiling, attentive and ready to advise. The menu is more or less divided half/half in meat and seafood dishes and it features some old classics like "polenta e schie" together with new and more modern proposals all of them quite interesting. The strong point, never the less , is the choice of wines. The list is definitely long and also features some good bottles coming from the near by Colli Euganei. One antipasto and either one primo piatto or secondo piatto with half a bottle of a good wine and dessert will take the final bill to about 40⬠per person, definitely not too expensive and anyway coherent to the good quality of the over all experience. Enjoy! And in case you have a little bit...gone too far in tasting the wines...no worries, in the same building there is Hotel Diana! Get a room and sleep on your dinner!

Stopped in for lunch while en route from Padova to Lake Garda. We only wanted a light-ish lunch, so pasta was the idea. We've had many pasta dishes in Italy, where we've visited about 20 times, that have ranged from average to excellent, but we've never had anything to match this. These are not your standard pastas, but individual recipes that we've never seen replicated anywhere else. My wife and I chose different dishes, and we both agreed, these were the best pasta dishes we've ever had.The owner was very friendly and welcoming, the decor was beautiful, and these are great positives for the restaurant, but the food quality is why you must go. Sadly, because we only ate light and because we still had a distance to travel, we didn't get to sample any other dishes, but the menu promised to be very exciting.
