Located at the heart of the Scheveningen marina you will find Waterproef. Thanks to the refined French cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences, the award-winning wine list, the informal service and the fabulous location, Waterproef is regularly ti
Maybe they were just having an 'off' night, but the issues we faced seemed pretty worn into the fabric of things...Firstly the restaurant is quite pretty inside. Slightly weird outside (in the middle of a car park) but pleasant enough once you're in. Service was attentive if a little bit 'full on' by who I'm assuming was the manager/owner. He was warm and welcoming to us, but tossed our coats to the most junior looking member of the team in a manner which didn't feel comfortable. In terms of the food, on the whole it looked better than it tasted. I had the duck liver to start which was weirdly grisly and unpleasant to eat, served with an overly intrusive fig compote. I then had slow cooked oxtail (or brisket, I can't quite remember it was a little while ago) Which was tasty enough but flat in flavor and had quite a bit of un-rendered fat on it. My dinner partner had steak which was requested medium rare but came to the table with only a defibrillator standing between it having another go at life. It was also chewy and served with uninspiring accompaniments. As we didn't want to prolong the misery we skipped dessert and got the bill. It was poor value for money considering the lack of skill behind the food, but what made the evening hilariously bad was that the waiter (a waiter we hadn't dealt with the entire evening and had a misplaced sense of over confidence) decided to round up our 120-something bill to 150 without any direction from us. We pointed it out and we got the strongest impression he was hoping we wouldn't notice. He then nervously apologised and disappeared as quick as he could. So while this isn't the worst place I've ever been to, there is a huge disconnect to what the chefs think they're serving you vs what you end up eating. Average to poor skill set presented in an aspirational manner that just doesn't deliver.Thank you for your honest feedback. First of all we apologize for your disappointing experience with us.Because we want to check with the staff who worked that particular night we would highly appreciate that you contact us on [email protected] since you said your visit was a little while ago.We hope to hear from you!Best regards,

Enjoying the art of cooking and hospitality with a view of the typical boats in the Scheveningen Harbor. At Het Gouden Kalf, everything revolves around our fresh and seasonal products, a warm atmosphere and accompanying wines. By fresh, we really mean fre
Nice location overlooking the inner harbor. Signs of a quality restaurant: open kitchen and limited menu.We had the three course menu and were all happy with our food. International classic dishes, with a choice of surf or turf. Prices a bit above average for the area, but this is probably one the better places to eat.

Calla's is named after the flower 'Calla', the Greek word for beautiful. With its serene loveliness and unassuming character, the Calla is the perfect emblem for the restaurant. The flower's serene beauty also inspired the interior design. Against a backgr
Have been visiting this restaurant for 12 years and the quality has always been very good. Oosterschelde lobster and asparagus to start, simple and perfect. A lobster and red mul main with risotto, again very good. Excellent strawberries and rhubarb dessert. Extensive and fairly priced winelist. The restaurant is situated in a quiet street and the interior is classy modern and timeless. Very friendly service.

Dear food lovers, We are located in one of the most iconic streets of den Haag, but we're far away from being your typical italian restaurant. From homemade pastas, breads and butters to fresh fish and recently hunted meats, our chefs eager to bring you t
I was in this charming city at the beginning of June for work. I decided to return to this restaurant to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, certain that it was of a high standard. This time I was surprised to eat a dish so typical of Italian cuisine, prepared so masterfully abroad. âPorchettaâ made by the chef Stefano Bellini. It was like to be in the Roman castles. All accompanied by a very good Apulian red. The next day I returned a I spoiled a first course... potato dumpling, gnocchi, with bacon, guanciale, always entirely prepared daily by the chef. What to say? the food in this restaurant is superior, appetizers of salami with truffle directly from Umbria, wine ... mmh! but it is not all. The staff is very discreet, elegant but at the same time friendly. They make you feel like a special guest but pampered in your home. Thank for this to the Barbaraâs smile, Riccardoâs personality and Danieleâs sweet welcome.I recommend it not only to those who want to learn about Italian cuisine but also to those who, including Italians, want to live a superior experience

Mario and emanuela welcome you to this trattoria Where you have the impression of being in italy Both for hospitality and for hospitality See you soon
The delicious food and lovely staff don't quite make up for the very loud and extremely stuffy restaurant. Unfortunately the room is rather small so tables are close together which means people have to practically shout to be heard. The close proximity to the kitchen and other diners coupled with a lack of air conditioning means the restaurant is extremely warm and stuffy which ruined the experience. I would not go back as a result which is a pity as the food was to be recommended.

Our story starts in Mexico, when I was just a boy my grandmother once told me that when the food is too salty, the Chef might be in love, if it is too spicy, then the Chef is probably angry. Ruiseñor tells a story with each dish it serves. The concept of
Iâve visited this restaurant three to four times now and has been an amazing experience every time. Make sure youâre not in any rush and enjoy the menu from the chef, very refined cuisine with a personal touch (the chef usually explains at least one of the dishes in person at the table). Worth a try, I can only recommend it!

Thanks to the TripAdvisor reviews, we made a reservation for Spijs. What a wonderful restaurant. All the employees were friendly and accommodating. My husband and I both had the beef fillet. It is one of the best I've ever had - and we have dined at some pretty high end restaurants! It was cooked perfectly and was tasty and tender. I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant.

6@24, referring to the birthdays of the manager and her chef, offers amazingly good food, served in very ambitious recipes and when a la carte copious, dishes. Very well trained team, excellent executed dishes, based on amazingly brilliantly composed dishes. Had twice the wild oysters from Texel, overly delicious, beating the Gillardaud standard. But also the ris de veau, the Anjou pigeon , and the loupe de mer were all surprising dishes. I am convinced all dishes will prove to be perfect, as were the amuses. Solid quality of wines, with some interesting odd wines. All affordable wines were a bit young, but well served by the manager.Happy to be back here often and further test the chef!
