We are base at famous beach called medakatiya . All sri lanken authentic foods are serve. We are specialist for sea food at this beach . Very best food service proved
The staff is friendly and welcoming but the service took a lot of time. Grilled tuna and chicken took around 60 minutes to arrive which is a lot considering we were almost the only ones eating at that time. The view from the restaurant is gorgeous. What I did not like is that the bill was wrongly computed. Luckily I have checked otherwise I would have paid ~1000 LKR more.

This restaurant served the best fish in Sri Lanka. The food was delicious. We went everyday during our stay in Tangalle. The owners were so appreciative that they gave us a free dessert on our final day which was a nice touch. This is definately value for money. They also offer tours to some of the sites which again was good value for money. The staff were friendly and reliable.

Oceana Beach Café & Seafood Restaurant serves a daily catch of fresh seafood along with our authentic Sri Lankan menu.
As we were exploring the streets of tangalle looking for somewhere to stop for lunch we came across the Oceana beach cafe and seafood restaurant, on first glance we were not sure it was open but sure enough there was a welcoming face from inside. There didnât seem to be much around as we were passing through out of season, but this worked in our favour. While waiting for our (home cooked) lunch we got talking to the co owner Dinesh. His English was great and he knew everything there was to know. He asked where we were heading to next (Ella) and he suggested doing the Udawalawe National Park along the way, he said he could make a call and get someone to take us there in the morning and then take us to our hotel in Ella after. The price was very reasonable and no need at all to try and haggle. We went back for dinner that night and the garlic butter grilled prawns were incredibly tasty, the food was all fantastic value for money. They staff were all amazingly friendly and great chefs. The next day Dinesh even took time out of his busy schedule to come to the national park with us, which was great for us as we had our own personal tour guide. Upon picking us up in the morning he even brought us water and breakfast bits and a cold coffee at 4.45am which was very welcomed! After the visit to the park he asked us if there was anywhere else we wanted to visit along the way.He was very attentive to our every need, we feel incredibly lucky to have passed the Oceana cafe that afternoon to meet the nicest man in Sri Lanka, so incredibly helpful. Even if you donât fancy any excursions, visit the Oceana Cafe for some food or even just to say hello! Thank you for all your help and knowledge again, Sam and Emma.

We provide sea food and rice and curry with deep down south style, by using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking method for breackfast, lunch and dinner
We tried 3 local restaurants during our stay at the Anatara and this one was our favourite. The food was amazing, the owner runs cooking classes and her son, our waiter was both funny and delightful. The ambience of the restaurant was great also. Whilst the meal options were limited to a choice of fish, prawn, chicken or calamari curry, the food was delectable. I chose prawn and my husband chose chicken. The accompanyments were delicious. The total price for drinks and food was 3700 LKR. We can This was superb Sri-Lankan food for a very reasonable price. If you are staying at the Anatara, itâs just a very short 1.4 km tuk tuk ride at a cost of 300 LKR each way.

Home made Food
Had a lovely dinner here! It takes a little while to get your food but they give you a deck of playing cards and with the relaxed atmosphere it really doesn't matter!Home cooked food is great and the milkshake as well.My girlfriend asked for a strawberry ice cream, he didn't have any so she ordered chocolate. 10 mins later he rocks up with her strawberry ice cream anyway. Turns out he actually went to the shop quickly to buy it!!!! She would've been fine with chocolate but he wanted to give us the best possible dessert.Definitely a recommendation on all fronts!

Mahi Mahi is the best seafood restaurant in Dikwella, Sri Lanka. It's the ideal place to experience fresh seafood for an affordable price. The restaurant is situated on a picturesque and clean sandy beach ideal for chilling, sunbathing and a dip in a sea.
Incredibly bad and slow service! We arrived and were greeted by no one. There was a group of five and us three and it took for ages for us to get the menu. After that it took for nearly an hour for us to get our meals! Waiter didnât seem to understand me who spoke English, so the Sinhalese people in my group had to translate for him. When we asked to order cocktails, the waiter said itâs not possible because he cannot make them - WHAT?! Food was basic and not great in any way. Sweet and sour chicken was just overly fried chicken with tons of pepper - not even any sauce. The location on the beach is wonderful and the restaurant is nice looking and they have great swings on the beach. Wouldnât recommend this place for anyone. Can get better food for the same price (or cheaper) elsewhere.
