It was very busy the day we arrived with a 45 minutes, There were two lists, one for inside dining, one for outside. We didn't know that. Things were disorganized. We went to the bar for a drink and needed an ID. Be prepared for this. Our name was called for outside dining first and we had to agree that it was ok to be seated in direct sun. The deck was pleasant but there was a terrible septic smell, We asked to be moved it was so bad. The manager told us we would have to go back on the list. He was not helpful. It was a little stressful. We did get an inside table just as we were leaving. The food was good and the waitress was pleasant but some of our order was forgotten. Not a fan!

If you like fried seafood then this is the place for you! I didnât like the fact they donât allow substitutes for anything i.e.Onion rings instead of fries. We left feeling so stuffed and realized we canât eat fried seafood more than once per year.

This is a small place so I usually do delivery. Clam chowder is out of this world. Seafood is kind of pricey but it is very good.
Excellent choices for everyone. As a vegetarian I found several good choices. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. Fun atmosphere. Drinks were good. We went here with friends and were told they will be doing breakfast on the weekends. Looking forward to going for breakfast. Location is a block from the beach and off street parking is across the street.

We are a local dive bar that secretly has class. Great food, great service all served in a very casual atmosphere with absolutely no pretense. We're a little place with a big heart. The Shanty has been serving the Good People of Salem for 30 years and is a
The best Connecticut style lobster roll I've had anywhere, but I recommend ordering it to go. The wait service was terribly slow. I had to ask for our check twice and then after waiting another ten minutes finally had to go hunt down a member of the wait staff to get it so we could pay and leave.

While visiting walking along Lynn Beach I saw this place. Sign was Anthony's pier 4 cafe. Upscale but didn't turn me away wearing khaki shorts and Hawaiian shirt. Waiter was great, nice kid. Great view but with a small bar. Prices were average and staff was very professional. My friend enjoyed her food, some oysters and crabcake. For me, the crabcake was small and too much filler. I ordered the scallops which were heavily done with butter and had great flavor because of it but the texture was off. It seemed like the scallops had been sitting in the butter too long. Tha scallops were correct on top but below that, sitting in the butter, was just mush. Any seafood that I eat if there is anything wrong I send it back. Of course the waiter offered to get another order done or get me something else but I never give the kitchen another chance after sending my order back.

Seafood Waterfront Casual Dining, Full service Restaurant & Oyster Bar. Featuring Outside Dining, Water Views, Outside Bar, Fresh Seafood & Grilled items.
We sat on the patio, in the sun, with a view of the water. I had the Hot for Teacher and the Old Fashioned cocktails and both were really good. I got the half pound steamed crab with butter. Sooo good! My dad had lobster Mac and we shared apple cobbler. Service was great. Especially when my 2nd Old Fashioned was not good like the 1st one and he took it off the bill.

We stopped by mid-afternoon, so the restaurant wasnât very busy and staff seemed to be taking a break. The location is great along the waterfront, and the menu with a very good selection.Ordering didnât take too long, but receiving our food and ultimately paying the bill took numerous requests to other servers to help us. The food was very good and ample.

I was in the area visiting my daughters with my sister and we decided to stop here for lunch. It turned out to be a lovely afternoon. The restaurant wasn't crowded at that time and the weather was beautiful, so we had an amazing view as we took our time, talking and eating. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Our server was wonderful too. I'd definitely go back when I'm in the area again.Thank you, Elise! We look forward to your next visit. Cheers!
