It was cold, windy and rainy (normal weather on the Baltic Sea cost in November), and on my walk through Stralsund, I happened to see something about smoked salmon on hash browns. Came back from my hotel, found the restaurant (below ground level) and felt comfortable. Service was good (no long wait), and I had a fresh Erdinger Hefeweizen, and the main dish (warm smoked salmon on hash browns / Kartoffelpuffer) followed within a reasonable time. Food was really good, but no more space for a dessert. The restaurant filled up quite nicely, so if you come after 7 pm, a reservation might come in handy. The menu shows the wide variety of potato-based dishes, and it would take quite some time to enjoy all of them.Highly recommendable. A reason to come back to Stralsund.
This was one of the best seafood Dinners I have eaten. The "restaurant" is a boat where they serve the fish from and you can take away (mitnehmen) or eat al fresco at one of the tables or chairs they provide. The atmosphere is right by the harbor side in Stralsund and right next to the brand new Ozeaneum aquarium. The menu has a wide variety of fish including smoked fish. I had salmon which had been flavored with many garnishings including a kiwi slice and it was one of the best salmon dinners (I eat salmon once every couple of weeks or more often). My son had calamari which was very tasty. The texture of both dinners was perfect.

We ate in this restaurant on two occasions during a recent stay in Stralsund. Service was attentive. Reasonable choice of menu options and most food was clearly cooked to order. Although we ate in the restaurant, the terrace was also available and very popular.

They have a large selection of fish brötchen and other fish. I had a fish brötchen with fried herring, made to order. And it was excellent. Located in the pittoreque harbour area.

I had high hopes for this place, being told by our hotel that same day reservation on a week day might be a problem. But in the end, I was quite underwhelmed. The menu has lots of fish items (there is no English menu, so you better get your German on) and it is amazing that they have so many different fresh (?) fish dishes available every day. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you pick smaller portions from the 'Senioren Karte' (menu for old people)The setting is also very nice, cozy and authentic. The service was ok / friendly but felt a bit spread thin.As for the food ... everyone else at my table seemed to like their dishes, but my pan-fried fish was dry as heck. Kiddo's chicken nuggets also looked over baked.I thought this was a 'must go to' place in Stralsund ... but I do not think so anymore.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant as authentic and that it was. We sat in a comfortable and roomy booth that overlooked the small restaurant and enjoyed local beer that was as smooth as silk. My husband had the fish stew that was rich and tasty. I had the perch plate with delightful boiled potatoes and veggies. The dessert I had was âinterestingââwith crumbles of pumpernickel bread. Otherwise, it was a fine and warm experience; not at all touristy.

Well deserved TA ratings, just around the corner from the Meeresmuseum. A tiny place that looks like a clean canteen - over the counter service that produces smashing delicious food - fish in all varieties and forms with yummy accompaniments on clean, stylish plates, nicely presented with fast friendly service. Every dish we had was superb, prices was cheap at around EUR6-9 per full meal. Wow! We were all blown away by the quality of the food that you can watch being prepared. Amazing what they can do in this tiny kitchen. Mostly local clientele. Watch out for daily specials too. This is was by far the best place we have eaten so far on this trip. YUM. You'd be silly not to eat here. Seriously! No English men, just point and enjoy!

It is a nice place where to eat and chill. Directly in front of the beauty Barbour and with a location that should be renovated, it looks like a nice fisherman's ship, that give to the restaurant a touch of essence. The fish is good, that could be make it more comfortable and be a 5 sterne fish restaurant

I stumbled upon this restaurant as it was one of the few places open when I arrived in Stralsund at 4pm. The staff speak little English and the menu is completely in German but that's to be expected for a town of mostly local tourists.I blindly picked the first fish dish which was matjes (according to the internet this is popular in the area, you can read more about this on wikipedia) and it turned out to be excellent! The fish tasted very delicate and the sauces/sides all complemented the flavour well. I highly recommend it!Thank you vey much.

We stumbled upon this when we were looking for a place to eat after spending couple of ours in the museum nearby. Place is really nice, from inside and outside, and very tidy. We didn't have reservation (I didn't notice that all the tables were really reserved already) but they reorganised it and made a table free for us, for what we are very thankful. Food card was really good (but this is something very subjective) since it's super hard for my family to pick a place where everyone can really find something. However, this was already big win. In the end, we had six different types of fish meals on the table, some nice red wine, and waiter also offered some cold plates that were also fresh prepared which we liked a lot too. In the end, prices are, for what you get, really reasonable, service was really nice and professional. Only downside was not being able to pay by card. Would gladly visit it again.
