My brother and his wife were up from Florida so we decided to go to Stonington and Mystic for the day. For dinner we decided on S&P Oyster. Initially we had planned on Bravo Bravo but it is closed on Mondays which we found out when we got there. S&P was crowded so we thought that was a good sign. My brother and I had the filet which was excellent (both of us wanted the strip steak but non available and it was 5:30 p.m. NOT GOOD) but the fried palenta side dish was disappointing - the menu had said stuffed baked potato???? The fried palenta looked good but was was essentially bland. Our wives both had fish and they both were pleased. The servers ( 2 for our table) were attentive but seemed annoyed everytime we asked a question or needed something which wasn't at all often. Not sure if they were having a bad night or what. Final evaluation - excellent food but thumbs down on the wait staff. Next time it will be Bravo Bravo.Hi Stuart, thank for your review, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your food. We do strive to deliver the highest quality in both food and service so we are sorry to hear that the waitstaff did not exceed your expectations. I do hope that you will allow us another opportunity to impress you, you wonât be disappointed.

We enjoyed trying several different varieties of oyster and clam and comparing them with the stronger flavored New Zealand Bluff Oysters we are used to. Service was great. It is very popular so book in advance!

This is not a restaurant. It is a seafood market operated by the Bomster family, well established scallop fishermen in Stonington. And you can't get better Bomster Scallops than you will get right here - among the best ever, seriously! This is a self serve honor system that takes cash and cards; there was no cashier to ring you out, you are on your own. You check your self out based on the well marked prices on the whiteboards and on the packages. All seafood was frozen when we visited for the first time in January; I don't know if they ever sell fresh. We cooked dinner that night after thawing the scallops, and they were fantastic. No problem with "previously frozen". Also best Maryland crab cake ever (lotta crab!), and a great Rhode Island Stuffie. We definitely be back.

Every Friday during Lent the Portuguese Society has a Fish and Chips Dinner - wow what great cooks they have there! Other offerings are chowder, clams and shrimp. I had the fish and chips - one bite and I was back in York, England eating fish and chips at 10:00pm with my rugby team. What great flavor, NO greasy fish here and the chowda....wow. Look for their advertisements. Its cheap and great.

My wife and I stopped in during an overnight stay in Mystic. I chose this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor reviews. This place is centrally located in downtown Mystic. It was a busy Saturday night, so it took about 30 minutes to get a table. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. The manager was great. He was personable and professional. The server (Keely?) was very friendly, knew the menu, and was very efficient with her service. We ordered the clam chowder, fish n chips, and the Black fish special. All the food was tasty, but the chowder was one of the best I ever had (and I grew up in Massachusetts and vacation every year in Maine). The chowder was thick and well seasoned. I will return to the Mariner the next time Iâm in the area. We're so glad you enjoyed everything at The Mariner. We're pretty proud of our clam chowder here. Hope to see you again very soon!

If you need some real Barbecue, then bring yourself right here to Dog Watch Mystic. We had pulled pork, homemade mac and cheese, baked beans, and cole slaw. The food was fantastic, the service was fast and friendly, and the outside patio dining was pleasant. I was totally amazed to find this BEST barbecue North of the Mason Dixon in Mystic! Right?

This restaurant/bar is conveniently located just a few minutes from US Route 1 in Stonington, CT. Ample parking.Wonderful menu every night. Saturday night there is always a prime rib going and the menu ranges from that, to local fish and many interesting dishes. This place is minutes from the Stonington, CT docks where fisherman bring the daily catch of scallops and flounder and other fish right fresh out of the sea. The bar is alwaysactive and well stocked and the place is just a friendly venue!

this was such a suprise that we could not get over it even after we left it. We both had two different kinds of fish dinners which with the sides were more than we could eat. The freshness was amazing and the quality was also. We will be going back here as the service was just so nice.We do not drink but they did have a full bar and parking was no problem. We were seated quickly and we did have a glass of wine each which was really nice. My wife had a bread pudding that she said was the best she had ever had. no dessert for me. too full.A really nice place to go for dinner and I would make a special drive to go here. We are about twenty five miles away. worth it.note: add one more dot to make it six on the register if possible.

Lovely view, had been there before, however last week I ordered the French Onion soup. Had to differentiate between ,bowl, cup, crock! Ok,when it arrived, looked ok, but Wham there was something odd! Waitress told me they add saffron, paprika and oregano! I could not eat it! She was kind enough to remove it from the bill, but I then ordered the New England clam chowder ,which was blah..Had to stop somewhere for Pizza in the way back
