We have been to a few restaurants as good as La Perla in southern Italy but they are all ahrotueismi in the hills or places by the sea in Sicilia. La Perla is in the Centro of Cosenza. Great fresh fish. Excellent grilled vegetables and homemade cake. Try the amaro made from bay leaves! OTTIMO PRANZO!
Ristorante gourmet con pochi tavoli, in una atmosfera bohemien ed accogliente, servizio attento e discreto!
Consenza is probably not on your list of Italian cities to visit, but if you are nearby, possibly traveling from Sicily to the amalfi coast, this restaurant is worth a detour. Excellent food, impeccable service and very reasonable prices. The food, wine, and olive oil are all local and incredible quality. Enjoy.

Fresh seafood cuisine . Raw fish. Calabrian cooking meat on reservation
Great service, great food, good atmosphere. The town does not offer much, but it deserves a visit just to have lunch/dinner in this place. I recommend the testing menù: it takes you on a journey of taste for a very decent price. All courses were very good, but the red tuna appetizer was something special. Also, I warmly recommend the bergamotto's sorbet, also a great experience. The excellent food is well complemented by a very polite and professional service, though the timing was probably a bit too relaxed... but if you are not in a hurry, then you can fully enjoy a great culinary experience!thank you so much

We really enjoyed our pasta dishes, although actually found the fried meatballs not really to our taste. We would have given 4 stars, except I strongly suspect we were taken advantage of as tourists, as they charged us 10 euros each for each pasta dish (for comparison, a plate of calamari is only 6.5eur). We challenged this, but the bill was not itemised and primis on the menu were not priced - more fool us for not asking, perhaps. Our pasta in an excellent, much more upscale, restaurant was only 6 euros the previous night. If a local would like to correct me about the price being an overcharge, I will gladly amend my review, but it seemed way too expensive for a casual place.

If you're after a typical Calabrian restaurant, you could do a lot worse than this place. The food was fine and made use fresh, seasonal ingredients. However, I would argue that in this part of the world that's to be expected. Likewise with the house wine, which was also good.If you're hungry and tired, stop here and eat your fill. If, however, you want something a bit more special, keep looking.

âAL GIRONE DEI GOLOSI" is a restaurant downtown Cosenza, soon appreciated by young people and adults because of its innovative cuisine that does not forget the importance of the local tradition and the âEnogastronomicâ culture of Calabria. The owners, Sta
Upon entering this gave the impression of being an upmarket restaurant however our experience was entirely to the contrary. The staff were unfriendly and offhand. The pasta was dried out as was the small amount of sauce which just stuck to the pasta. Some of the pasta was actually crunchy suggesting that it had been cooked previously and reheated. There were only two tasteless tiny marble sized meat balls. One member of our group only had one meatball. Very little was eaten by each person. The next course consisted of two small egg sized rolls of vbeal containing some sort of filling plus a serve of particularly oily potato pieces. For sweets I had a small piece of very dry fig tart without any cream, custard or icecream. After so many lovely meals recently in Sicily and Calabria this meal was a disgrace. I have never before had occasion to write such a damning review of a restaurant. I have had better meals at cheap ordinary cafes and grills. I cannot fi9nd one positive thing to say about the meal which is without the worst restaurant meal I have ever had in my quite long and well travelled life.

Together we 3 friends we ended up at this trattoria. During ordering the waiter recommend us to try the antipasto with local products and preparations. The antipasto was great and we were already almost full after this dish. Despite this, we all finished our primo because we enjoyed it :)! The bill was very reasonable. Great place!

We had lunch here today and it was great! Nice clean seafood restaurant. We had antipasto of the house (combination of lovely fried seafood, salads and rafish). We had the daily pasta with black olives, zucchini flowers and acciughe which was highly tasteful. Chocolate cake, sorbetto al limone and grappa after. Have made reservations again for the next day!
