Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Sosua. Sosua is everything you want a beach town to be. Clear waters teem with coral, perfect for snorkeling and diving. Above sea level you’ll find multicolored sands lined with beach shacks. This small enclave of the Dominican Republic was once a haven for Jewish refugees. Historic sites and synagogues offer great perspective on Sosua’s postwar identity. On a lighter note, a community of ex-pats helps fuel a boisterous, international nightlife scene.

I have never been to a place more inconsistent then hear. For breakfast it's a wonderful place to come however after that everything changes. For instance the pizza lack cheese an important ingredient. That is the lack luster part of the luncheon menu dinner menu. So people should keep this in mind when coming here.

Baia offers the complimentary full breakfast, the main course following a fruit platter and a pastry basket. Lunch and dinner are both served. Great fish which you can witness being brought to the restaurant by local fisherman. Something for everything pizza, mozzarella selection, lobster, excellent piece of sirloin. Good cocktails and a fairly priced wine selection

Michael's is a little hidden spot up in what we call the balcony that overlooks the bay of Sosua, very known by locals around the community as our grandfather (Michael) build a little bridge from the side of the restaurant to a a big rock that is on the w
Without a doubt, the best meal I have had to date in the Dominican Republic, with an amazing view! Great food choices, though no parking or special amenities...if you're looking for 5-star comfort or' Chicness'...this is not it. The food and view and service makes up 50 times for air conditioning, etc.

We find it very very difficult to believe that there are 20 restaurants in Sosua that are rated higher than this gem. Andre, the German chef is outstanding in the kitchen, to say the least. Four of us went for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. To keep this review simple, the food was delicious, the service was prompt , friendly, professional and courteous. Although schnitzel was not on the menu, Andre agreed to make it for my husband, who raved about it. Our entire group was delighted with their culinary choices. This is a genuine hidden gem, do not miss it! Great value, dinner for four with drinks, less than $100 USD. Lots of ambience, roomy, well furnished, without a doubt has to be one of the top three places to eat in Sosua. Definitely the best place we have eaten in three weeks in the DR.

My girlfriend, her seven year-old son, and I are staying at the âResidencial Hispaniolaâ in Puerto Plata, Sosua-El Barry, Dominican Republic this week. It is a gated community with its own restaurant named the âHispaniola Diners Clubâ. It is in a perfect location from where you can see the ocean. The food was outstanding. We started with barbecued chicken wings and Shrimp Tempura. Her seven year-old son enjoyed a burrito and a carry-out huge cheeseburger. I enjoyed its well-made caipirinhas while my girlfriend had a Mai Tai and Corona beer. It is a great place to eat if you are staying at the wonderful Residencial Hispaniola!

Traditional Italian food restaurant with a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. If you are looking for the real Italian taste, visit us.
Such lovely ambience in the midst of tropical plants and a swimming pool. The music was soft and relaxing. They have an extensive menu but several items were not available. They gave each of us a sample of a delicious tropical juice to wet our appetite. The caprece was delicious with fresh basil, cheese, tomatoes and sauce. Regrettably, I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which was clearly blackened from burning. Neither the wait staff nor the cook seemed to notice until I flipped over this entree and had them take it away. My daughter ordered lasagna and was unhappy that it had been prepared with goat cheese instead of the classic ricotta. My granddaughter ate it. At the end, all were certain that they would not return.I'm sorry if your experience wasn't perfect. We didn't have the Mahi Mahi because we cook only fresh ingredients so if the fisherman doesn't bring me fresh fish I simply don't buy it. The original lasagna isn't made with "classic ricotta" as you say (maybe in England it is). Lasagna is made with ragu' Bolognese, besciamella and Parmiggiano. Thank you anyway for your review.

I was in Sosua again this year. The place is still there and still excellent. Nothing much has changed from my previous review. Jeff is still there, but they other guys moved on. They got a new guy, John. Still a very friendly stuff, and the food is excellent quality and preparation. Highly recommend.

I have given Osteria Toscana rapturous reviews in the past, and after not having been there for some time, I decided it would be fun to go there again. I am very, very sad to say that the quality, ambience, and service of the restaurant are greatly degraded since my last visit. The menu has not changed AT ALL in over 3 years. Even the specials are always the same. The only change is the addition of the pizza oven, but my two experiences with pizza were not good, and I really wanted to treat myself to a very nice meal, as Osteria Toscana is a little pricier than other Sosua restaurants. (Which all seem to be Italian, but that's another story.)There was one other table where guests were having dessert and no other customers in the establishment. I said good evening to the wait staff when I arrived so they would know they had a customer. I waited 10 minutes before a waitress came over and immediately asked me if I wanted a drink. I told her that I would like to see a menu first. It took 3 tries to get an ashtray. I ordered gnocchi, which was acceptable; a little gummy, not as fluffy and airy as I remembered, but certainly tasty and a very large portion. The terrace no longer has the pretty fairy lights that I remembered; maybe they were ruined in a storm, maybe the electric bill was too high. But the terrace is in no way memorable or charming---just tables and chairs (with sort of ugly brown tablecloths with beige napkins), a few plants, and not quite enough light.Halfway through the service, the radio (it wasn't Spotify) was turned on at a very loud volume. I did not receive a plate of focaccia, and I thought it had been discontinued, but then I noted that the two other tables that came in after I did had received it. Oh well. The waitress then made five trips to clear a table for two, without casting a single glance in my direction. I finally had to do the dreaded "ssssssss" to get her attention. It feels really rude to me, but it's the only thing that works. I then waited a long time for the check, and then waited so long for her to return that I finally just got up and brought it to the bar myself. The clincher, however, was when a cook? waiter? a man, wearing a sleeveless t-shirt sauntered through the dining area with a large tray of bread rounds, ostensibly to char them in the pizza oven. However---and apart from I don't need to see an old guy in a wife beater that was none too clean strolling through the dining area---he carried this tray of bread rounds with a cigarette dangling from his mouth.Perhaps the restaurant has changed ownership. I don't know. I did not see Alessio, the Italian chef who was there all the time once upon a time. There was no offer of a complimentary Mamajuana or limoncello, and I wouldn't have had it anyway, because I just wanted to get out as fast as I could.I am always sorry to write a less than stellar review because I know how difficult it is to keep a restaurant open in Sosua. In this case, though, I really feel it's a case of CAVEAT EMPTOR!I am sorry if you don t like ...there are many restaurant in sosua....all better then osteria ......perfect for you....the old owner is died ....a kiss

There are a few places claiming to have "Mexican" food. In reality, it is "Tex-Mex" at best and more like "Caribbean Mexican" food.from the Tacos al Pastor from Mexico City to the Ceviche from the coastal town of Vera Cruz to the Juarez Burritos to the Jalisco Enchiladas and all the other various Mexican street food. We try.Do not forget the purified water and clean modern bathrooms and showers eitherPlease come back and Viva Mexico y Republica Domincana!Steve
