Reviews on Seafood food in Simon's Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Simon's Town (Afrikaans: Simonstad), sometimes spelled Simonstown, is a town near Cape Town, South Africa, which is home to the South African Navy. It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula. For more than two centuries it has been a naval base and harbour (first for the Royal Navy and now the South African Navy). The town is named after Simon van der Stel, an early governor of the Cape Colony.

Simon's Town's best kept secret, the restaurant is situated within the False Bay Yacht Club and open to the general public
We were on a private day tour in the Peninsula and our driver recommended we stop here for lunch, For such a generous platter, the surprise was how affordable it was.Delicately beer battered fried sea food with fries and side.

We offer a selection of simply decorated comfortable rooms, or self catering units for families, all with luxury white cotton linen, and for utter peace and quiet, our rooms do not have tv's. Tea & coffee making facilities and welcome shortbread on arriva
Boulders Beach restaurant was just a very short drive from our first night in Port of Call in Simonstown, after a 11+ hour flight from Amsterdam. So it was easy to eat at before going to bed early. Nice food, nothing high-class, just good honest food for a light budget.Thank you so much for your feedback and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your meal here. I hope you're having an enjoyable holiday in the Mother city.

On our way back from the Cape Point/Boulders Beach Tour we stopped at Franâs Place. Read the good reviews in TA and gave it a try. We were not disappointed. Relaxed place, lots of yummy food and friendly service. Weâd recommend Franâs Place anytime!

Nestled unobtrusively on one of the most scenic coastlines in the Cape, en-route to Cape Point, this historical building, ensures an idyllic lunch or evening experience. Black Marlin has earned a reputation for its stunning seafood and attentive service n
My guide took us here for lunch. It was set on the sea. There were lots of reservations, so we sat just inside. We still had a view of the water. There is ample seating. I enjoyed a lunch of fish cakes and then indulged in the creme brûlée. Delicious!

My experience of pescado is that which i experienced at many such places...those that want to profit from the international tourist making their rounds in our country. South africans....the ordinary guy from around suffer the consequence which is..... that prices are ridiculous..food is average and portions small. They pescado included became complacent..in the last many years that I have eaten there...decor remained the same...food is nothing to write home about and service is average..there is nothing unique about the place that will cause even a local like myself to come there again..and again...

Seafood Restaurant at the Waterfront Jetty, next-to the South African Naval-base and False Bay Yacht Club in Simon's Town
This restaurant was part of our â memory laneâ 12 years ago on our honeymoon. We arrived and no one really told us we can sit or where. We then went to sit by a table. The service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress must have had a problem with us for no reason. She took our drinks order and then returned with them and took the food order. We were deciding on sharing dishes but she was very impatient. Anyhow, we ordered Hake and chips with a kids meal. Food came out and our waitress never made any effort to check if we are fine and wanted anything else. She dodged our table, walking so fast and making no eye contact to signal for assistance. There was a time I saw many staff members behind the bar on their cellphones whilst just wanting to order another soft drink ( which by the way is over priced ). We ended up standing up from our table, took the left over food on our plates and asked for the bill. We did not pay any tip fee due to the fact that the service was poor. I think if the service was better the food would have tasted better. We will not return.

Osetra - The Restaurant is a 220-seater upmarket designer restaurant, situated in the heart of Kalk Bay. The restaurant, named after the Caviar, is almost completely sea facing with the outside dining terrace perfectly positioned for people-watching. Open
This was our second visit and we were as impressed as on our first visit. We were given a delicious complimentary bowl of spicy seafood bisque on arrival (very welcome on an icy Cape Town day). We then shared a plate of perfectly cooked prawns, served with the most delicious soya sauce-based sauce and fabulous egg-fried rice. The staff were attentive and efficient (and I loved the teapot they brought my tea in).
