Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Sifnos. Sifnos (Greek: Σίφνος; the spelling Siphnos is obsolete in English but still by convention often used to refer to the island in ancient times) is an island municipality in the Cyclades island group in Greece. The main town, near the center, known as Apollonia (pop. 869), is home of the island's folklore museum and library. The town's name is thought to come from an ancient temple of Apollo on the site of the church of Panayia Yeraniofora. The second-largest town is Artemonas (800), thought to be named after an ancient temple of Apollo's sister-goddess Artemis, located at the site of the church of Panayia Kokhi. The village of Kastro (118), was the capital of the island during ancient times until 1836. It is built on top of a high cliff on the island's east shore and today has extensive medieval remains and is the location of the island's archeological museum. The port settlement, on the west coast of the island is known as Kamares (245).

We have been travelling around the Cyclades for two weeks now - Andros, Naxos and Amorgos - and this is the best food so far. The courgette balls, the aubergine patties, the pasticcio, the green beans and lamb mastelo (The roasting is made in the wooden oven, in a special ceramic pot, the mastelo, from where its name derives. The lamb is washed only with local red wine flavored with plenty of dill and then placed on vine-shoots in order to roast with the steams of the red wine and not to boil). All simply excellent. Very good service and of course right by the sea. Need to go back before our departure tomorrow.

Flaros is an all day Greek Wine Restaurant. Serving authentic Greek cuisine with a modern touch in front of the Aegean Sea, at the protected old harbor of Faros viewing the breathtaking symbol of Sifnos, Panagia Chrysopigi. Operating seasonally (June to e
We loved the food it was tasty. the service was excellent. However the portions were a bit too small. Especially if you order the octopus, you pay 12 euros for 5 bites. Or the greek salad with mizithra... the mizithra was 1 tablespoon. Come on!There should be a better balance between profit maximisation and customer satisfaction.Apart from that, I strongly recommend it.Thank you very much for the review. We are very happy that you find our food amazing. You should also try some of our main courses that are bigger in portions. Please note that the 12 euro are for a top quality tentacle of octopus, slowly cooked and grilled, served with local fava pure. Thank you again and we really hope to see you again!

We have been to Sifnos twice. Eaten all over the island. Went back here again this summer. Their Greek Eggplant stuffed with octopus, calamari, and shrimp is the best dish I have had in all of Greece! I have pictures. This place is a hidden treasure. I wo
Tucked away in a small, slightly worn down fishers village below Kastro in a small bay with a small pebble beach. Fish and seafood only, straight from their own fishing boat. You are asked to come down to their kitchen to pick your fish. No frills simple freshness. We had the red mullet, aubergine stuffed with squid and octopus, big fried shrimps, and the tuna souvlaki. The last the best grilled tuna I ever ate. Great for a lunch trip.

If you arrive at the correct time in the evening you will enjoy the sunset view. Very peaceful location just round the bay from the main town. I had the dorade for main course which was cooked to perfection while my OH had the lamb which again was delicious. One of the best meals in our time on Sifnos.Service was prompt as we ate early but we did notice that things slowed down after it got busier.

A real model of services in food production. We could come every day to eat here if it wasn't far from our pension in Sifnos. Only one day trip to Vathi beach but very fulfilling with nice sea view, beach and this beautiful restaurant on the sea. The food is real greek home made and tasty, whatever you want from seafood to meat, salads and vegetables; the service very good, the prices very affordable . Thank you!

Second year and is even better! Incredibly balanced dishes that we ate and have overcome our expectations. Carpaccio was like a work of art with its materials complementing each other. The tuna is a very successful different approach dish, the smoked bass an ointment in simplicity and a dish that you will not find anywhere else, the cod had everything that must have a dish that is perfect, the combination of taste was so elegant that every bite it was a taste experience and finally the octopus, although I am the philosophy that some traditional things are not overcome, this dish drove me away and traveled to me in time making me think of all the good octopus dishes I've eaten these years, it contained all these dishes on a bite, as we explained to the owner (Zannis) was quite complicated preparation which worth you describe. Prices on main dishes is very reasonable for this quality of food. The advantages of the restaurant are the parking space and the friendly owner who is willing to explain every dish he offers. I wish she stayed so good and had the opportunity to visit it again soon.

Fish and seafood is the common denominator in this kitchen-lab experimenting with old and new, Sifnian and Greek goods under global inspiration. Numerous small creations are proposed in a casual bar setting few meters from the Aegean sea. Get carried away
We visited the restaurant twice with my boyfriend during our stay in the island. We loved it! Raw dishes were the orzo, the lobster carpaccio and the calamari were also amazing! Service was good, maybe if we wanted to say something it would be that they could pay a little bit more attention to details in terms of attention from the service, but we enjoyed it very much and recommend it to anyone travelling to sifnos!!

Limanaki is a small traditional taverna in Faros, a little village on the island of Sifnos. The name means âlittle harborâ and they serve fresh fish, a wide variety actually, as they fish everything with their own boat. Itâs easy to find and you can enjoy lunch or dinner after a long day at the picturesque beach Glyfo, on the right side of the settlement. We went there specifically for lobster spaghetti which is their signature dish. They had a fresh catch and my wife picked a rather big lobster out of a dozen live ones the owner showed her. That made an enormous plate for two which we devoured! The waiter was rather surprised we finished it because as he told us, not many people can manage it. After they boil the lobster they use the water to cook the spaghetti and make the tomato sauce. The lobster was insane, huge, tender, seasoned with salt and pepper and perfectly cooked! The pasta was good too, in a beautiful thick red sauce. Limanaki is a family restaurant, they cook with their heart and serve everything with a smile. For a delicious salad, the lobster and our drinks we paid 105 Euros, which might sound expensive but not quite for fresh lobster. When visiting Sifnos booking there is a must, location is great, the view is fabulous and the food is superb

We came here because reviews were wow. Not. Interesting menu but very bland execution. Chickpeas salad was one of the more boring I ever had, moreso in sifnos. Octopus was itself great but the cauliflower lime garlic sauce was absolutely tasteless. Cocktail was awesome. Place is nice. Shame food was just really badly executed Greetings from Sifnos, Greece! We promise to take into consideration your comments regarding our chickpeas salad and cauliflower sauce in order to ace our recipes but to be honest, we have been many times complimented in the past for these exact dishes. As you may imagine, not all dishes/recipes fit all tastes. We will be glad to have you as our guest in the future so we may try to impress you.
