Scallops are the one seafood I try wherever I go and this restaurant had probably the best preparation of them I have ever had. Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of light sauce and accompanied by a tasty dark bulgar side (usually I hate bulgar but this was very good). Scallops were atop al dente asparagus accompanied by Standard Bakingâs rustic bread. Perfect service and tasteful but fun decor. Canât wait to return

My wife and I visited the last Friday night in September, never having visited this area before. We were seated promptly, outside as requested. It took ten minutes for the server, Alicia, to pay a visit, take our drink, dinner and appetizer order. When she did, she seemed distracted like she'd rather be elsewhere. After another ten minutes, she appeared with my wife's lobster dinner accoutrements, and our appetizer, calamari, which was ice cold. She seemed perplexed that our drinks had not been served.....she then brought them a few minutes later. The entrees arrived soon after and were hot, but visits to us to periodically check for drinks or water were few and far between. It seems like the kitchen produces good food, but there is a logistical issue getting it to the table at peak quality, and, server attention to detail is lacking. For a meal that will run $100 with drinks, there are likely better options.

We live nearby and used to dine here frequently when it was a different restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, staff friendly although not super speedy!Menu somewhat limited but decent variety.Wanted to swap type of cheese on a main entree salad for another cheese offered on the menu, but chef said no. Really? Meal was average in flavor and presentation but higher in price for area.We like to support local businessâ but really donât think weâll go back. So many great places to eat in the area and really nothing to make us want to rush back.If you are staying in Higgins Beach and donât have a car, itâs an ok option but plenty of better places to eat within a few miles.Hi there - Thank you for your review and thank you for coming in to join us for dinner at Shade. We're disappointed to hear that you didn't fully love your experience at our restaurant. When you have a moment, we would love it if you could reach out to us to give us some more feedback so that we can better ourselves. You can email us at [email protected] you and we look forward to hearing back from you.

Vinnie and Sue, owners of Bailey's Lobster Pound, The Bait Shed, The Garage and Emma's Eats have created another unique dining experience and transformed the old Rising Tide into a quaint, attractive environment for their new restaurant. The menu has all the local seafood favorites (including fried options) such as scallops, lobster, swordfish and many more. They also feature a great burger and super apps. The food is outstanding! All overlooking the Scarborough Marsh and Ferry Beach. Terrific service is a standard at all of their locations. Love the boat bar and the special "stern" booth. A great find and a must try...you will come back.

There was a group of people ordering at the cash register, so we jumped in line and ordered, too. We found out that Bayley's has standard waitstaff upstairs. It was no big deal, we just went upstairs and ordered a specialty mixed drink at the bar and waited for our number to be called. It was simple and the view out the window was nice. We loved the clam chowder. The fried clams were amazing . . .very lightly battered so that you can really taste the clams. The haddock was also very good. We just stopped on our way through the area on Route 95. It wasn't that far off the highway and the food was worth the trip!! Very reasonably priced and the wait for the food was pretty short! Highly recommend!

My wife and I had dinner here last week while visiting the Portland area. We really liked everything about this place, from the warm welcome, to the excellent and relaxed service, to the outstanding and refined version of Greek food that is on offer here. We are already wanting a return engagement. Everything was terrific, but I especially recommend the scallop appetizer and their take on cheesecake for desert. Do not miss this place. It stood head and shoulders above the other "fine dining" option we tried while in town.

We are modern day homesteaders...we are vibrant, colorful, outgoing and modern. We work hard...finding a purpose and pride in our professional life, but love to let loose and smell the roses at every moment possible. Whether it's on the farm, behind the w
I recently stayed at the hotel and didn't have time to find a place to eat. The smoked seafood chowder was great. If you like creamy seafood chowders this is a must have. You will not be disappointed. I also had the pizza and really enjoyed it. Normally I wouldn't recommend getting pizza in Maine but this was actually very good. Although, I do wish I tried the lobster roll...will need to be next time. The service was great and I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Just an old lobster shack located on the side of the road. nothing special except we have the freshest lobster and clams delivered daily . you pick em and well cook em . see web site for other items sorry only seafood
If you are looking for a fresh lobster roll with nothing but lobster, this is the place to go. We started with the fish chowder, which was very tasty, but could have been hotter. The lobster rolls were packed with chunks of lobster and absolutely delicious. We plan to go back soon, but will have to wait as they are closing for the season.

We had dinner here following recommendations on trip advisor. Food (steamers and lobster rolls) were delicious plus unique margaritas were perfect. Waitstaff was excellent and you canât beat the location for a true Maine experience. Hint: arrive before 5:30 to avoid long wait.

We had a large order that we had preordered to accommodate 10 people. The staff was incredibly helpful in their suggestions and did a great job with suggesting what to order. We got lobsters, steamed clams, oysters, corn, shrimp, and Caesar salads. Everything was freshly cooked and well packed for pickup. They included small containers of butter for the clams and lobsters. Everything was delicious and easy. I will definitely be back!!
