Business lunch today, second time I come here and it is one of the old traditional Spanish places in town. Old fashioned menu, good riojas and ribera del duero, all as it should be.We had a classic manchego cheese and Ibérico ham starter, followed by pulpo a la gallega, bacalao and chillo a la plancha, all prepared to perfection and served by the very attentive waiters, canât get any better.Brilliant place and more economic than another places in town.

Went twice to this place during my short stay at the JW Marriott in Santo Domingo and will go back. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and they also carry a decent wine selection to satisfy everyone. Try the Coconut Pina Colada for dessert! Absolutely delicious.

The First Tavern of the Americas, est.1505 Exquisite Cuisine, Casual Ambiance
Just back from our last meal on the island and...wow. perfect in so many ways. Read some reviews that were not good--mainly service and price. Our service was awesome-Gracias Manuel (Larry!). Dinner was expensive by DR standards but well worth it. We had drinks, apple/shrimp app, theee dinners and a dessert for $6000 DP. Could not eat this well in the US for that amount! Steak was perfect for son and I. Wife had curry shrimp. All was great! Totally recommend for special dinner!

Likely the best food Iâve had in my 15 years of traveling to the Dominican Republic. The ceviches in particular are fantastic, as is their variety of fish. Someone else ordered apps, and I took one bite and said âTHAILAND!â, sure enough it was the Asian influenced Ceviche! Bold flavors, excellently cooked. Order the red snapper grilled, keep it simple. Love this place!

I have been staying at the intercon in Santo Domingo. Don Pepe is two blocks away. I balked at the idea of dressing up; the hotel concierge politely suggested I should and she was probably right. The service was excellent. The crab croquette was ok but the whole snapper with garlic was excellent. I took the waiterâs recommendation of a local corn creme brûlée and Barcelo rum: he was right.A thoroughly good evening. Iâm coming back.

Elizondo Restaurant is a Spanish cuisine (Asadero de Plancha tipo Vasco) new concept in Santo Domingo. Our menu, dishes and drinks are limited to those products that maximizes value to our guests throughout the perfect balance between; price, quality and
The food in Elizondo seem interesting at first, but sorry to say, it gets boring really really fast. The biggest problem come from the sauce and seasoning they use, itâs basic garlic and olive oil, the appetizer start with it, the main plate have the same, we didnât try the dessert, so hopefully itâs not something with the same. Donât get me wrong, the food here is amazing, too bad itâs just get boring too fast for me.Dear Mr. ChangThank you very much for your review, it give us the chance to clarify our concept with you and other guests. We don't pretend our customer to visit us every day, even pizza could be boring if you eat it to often. Our purpose is to offer a reduced amount of plates (steaks and seafood) with the best quality you can find in the city, so our customers can return to our restaurant every time they want to eat the best squid in town or the best steak whatsoever. We do have other sauces, and condiments: squid in ink sauce, or Vizcaina Cod, or Pork in barbecue sauce, or you can ask for our super tender and flavorful griddle steak, or our Smoked on the table salmon with American cherry wood, for example. It is not the intention of Elizondo to be "everything to everybody". That's why we do not offer pizza or pasta or ceviche, neither sushi rolls or fried rice for example. We are an Asadero estilo Vasco, basically a Basque griddle Steakhouse style. We totally agree with you when you described our food as "amazing" and we promesse to you and to all our guests that we will continue effort our self to the limit to keep it that way all the time.Hope we see you in the future.Regards

From the cocktails, appetizers and main course, this is without a doubt the worst food I've had for such a hefty price. The appetizers were soggy and salted. I ordered a shrimp and octopus risotto which tasted old and reheated many times. But the worst part was the price. We were a party of 3 and only had 2 pina coladas and 3 beers, a risotto and 2 steaks and paid almost RD$10,000 (US$192.00) - for bad food!!! Don't go to this restaurant!!Dear Jofana2018,Thank you very much for your evaluation. It is a pleasure for us to read your comment. We apologize for the inconvenience caused during your visit to our Filigrana Restaurant, we regret not exceeding your expectations, at Filigrana Restaurant we work so that our clients feel comfortable and enjoy a cozy and different atmosphere, your comment is very important for us, thats why we will work to improve our service and quality in our dishes. We hope you visit us soon.Best regards,
Gastronomia nacional e internacional asi como una amplia variedad de tragos y cocteles. Ambiente adulto. Diferentes y exclusivos ambientes en su interior. Musica en vivo de todos los generos musicales en un ambiente adulto contemporaneo. Bachata, merengue
Nice little bar with promising setup. Very laid back people and nice music. Unfortunately waitresses are more preoccupied with how they look and what they have to say to each other than serving customers.Worst thing however is when the DJ (who cannot mix) started the music it was so loud that we could not stay. Even when saying this to the staff and DJ themselves they just shrugged and didn't care. What a waste! At the time of his visit it was our Bar anniversary week where we presented merengue and bachata concerts and this music increases the volume to the point of desibeles allowed. The music mix show is after midnight but from 4.pm in the afternoon until 11.30pm nigth the volume of the music stays well low. We have strategic areas inside the bar where at the request of our clients we move them from tables so that the volume impacts them less.Again sorry for the bad moment! Keep in mind that we are a bar with restaurant area. The attitude that you say you exhibited on our estaff is not acceptable and we open an investigation about it to make the necessary corrections.Sorry for hear something like that, is not the business idea. We take in consideration your comment and make the corrective actions. Is possible that the manager is not present in the time of your visit. I hope to take you back to show you antoher face of our atmosfere. When is after hour the music is up the level but we take in consideration each opinion and make the change on demand. All the time you can ask for the manager, at any moment. Also with have area without speaker in order to use if you need to talk.
