Glow is a tiny rustic seaside bistro in Rockport, TX. We strive to find the freshest seafood from Texas fishermen, gently cook it, and share our meals with friends in a relaxed setting.
Don't believe after you view the photo in the trip advisor of the fried seafood platter. The Glow is not your typical grease fried seafood joint. Sure it has a corn hole board out front, seaside atmosphere and seashack appearance, but you will find the most professionally prepared seafood in Rockport waiting for you. Service good, no wait, incredible chef and cozy.Great recovery after Harvey.

We went on a Friday at lunch, so the service was pretty quick. My son (who works in a seafood restaurant) didn't care for the gumbo ("too squshy... too many vegetables"), but the rest of our meal was great. I enjoyed an enormous blackened chicken po-boy and he had bacon-wrapped shrimp. My daughter had chicken strips from the kids' menu. She wasn't wowed by themnn, but she considers herself a chicken strip expert. Sigh.... Service was fast and friendly (thank you Debbie!) and we enjoyed watching the shrimp boats and sea birds out the windows facing the docks. I'd definitely return (and I don't eat seafood)! :D

Visited 495 with family. We're from Maryland. Menu states "Maryland" crab cake. It truly is a Maryland crab cake. Delicious, just like home. The restaurant decor is welcoming and homey. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. If you're in the area, a visit to 495 Chesapeake Eats is a must.

Cozy restaurant with wood fired oven. Try the wood fired Brie. Excellent cocktails with a limited but exceptional dinner menu and a decent wine selection. This restaurant has live music most evenings and during the day the background music is 1950s. This is my #2 restaurant in Rockport only because it does not have a coastal view.

Serving Rockport's freshest seafood at The Boiling Pot! Serving up cajun-style boiled seafood, you won't go wrong with our large portions and even larger creole flavors.
A shrimp boil is just hard to beat, especially when youâre down on the coast! Came here not knowing what to expect, but wanted some seafood. Neat casual atmosphere - a dive- thatâs fun! Walls are filled with the art of âpatronsâ? They have plenty of choices for beer - close to 100? All in bottles. The food was great - plenty of spice. My only suggestion would be to increase the shrimp to 1 lb for the Cajun combo - to much sausage, not enough shrimp.

I ordered fried shrimp which was cooked to perfection. The sides were pinto beans very tasty and cole slaw which was different, I didn't like it. The service was great. The noise level was moderate to where we could carry on a normal conversation. If you are looking for good seafood this is the place. This restaurant is out of Rockport and since I was not familiar with the location had to use GPS to find it.

We went with a somewhat large group of 8. This is a small place but they accommodated us out on their patio. Frankly I don't like it outside as it feels closed in with lattice work and vines. If it was more open it would be better. Anyway, we came for the food and they didn't disappoint. Our group had a mix of burgers, crab cakes, oysters and shrimp. Honestly it all looked great and everyone was happy with their choice. No booze here but you can walk next door to the liquor store and get whatever you want. That's a big plus if you want wine which is up charged quite a bit at restaurants. A friend of mine bought a 6 pack of beer next door and the restaurant gave the a bucket with ice to put it in. So just remember, you go here for the food, not the ambiance.

We upscale with a friendly atmosphere! Family owned for 17 years. Feel free to walk around and look at the art on the walls. Our bar area opens at 4:30 and we serve Happy Hour specials 4:30-6:30 every day except Saturday.
A very nice atmosphere offering fresh seafood and local art. Fresh caught seafood and good steaks, appetizers and fresh salads ensure even the most selective palates will be happy. Full bar. Good service.

We had dinner here, about 7:30 and there was ample tables available. It was a nice size restaurant, with white linen tablecloths and the decor was pleasant and simple. The waiter was very helpful with our questions about the menu items and was attentive without hovering. They do have a wine list, though we did not have wine that evening. The menu variety wasn't huge, but still covered most of the basics. I had the broiled scallops and my husband opted for the grilled grouper. We each had salad and a baked potato with our meal. They had onion soup on the menu but when I asked about it, the waiter informed me that they typically don't serve it until around the fall, when the weather gets cooler. They brought rolls to our table and then our salads. The salads were served cold with a nice mix of greens and veggies. Our entree came out a short while later and both plates were sizzling. My husbands grouper was nice and thick and a good size portion. My scallops were simmering in butter and about the size of half dollars; not huge, but about two bites per scallop. They were very fresh, but there wasn't a very strong flavor to them, so the garlic butter they were served in was needed. Our server was very nice and very efficient. Don't expect this to be a cheap restaurant, but their prices are about par with similar seafood restaurants in the area. We enjoyed our meal and had a good experience.
