Reviews on Seafood food in Portimao, Algarve, Portugal. Portimao is a sailor’s delight, thanks to its calm waters and beautiful conditions. Plenty of elite international competitions happen here, but you don’t have to be a professional to set sail. Cruising the coast on the double-masted Santa Bernarda pirate ship is a family favorite. On dry land, you can wander the lovely Alvor boardwalk, enjoy a succulent seafood meal or zip around the go-kart track at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Traditional Portuguese restaurant with predominance of typical dishes from the Algarve and the Alentejo. We have snacks and full meals. We only cook with fresh and quality products!
Weâve come to the restaurant to have a dinner with my wife and son - both like octopus. Ordered the one which was positioned as âspecial dish of the restaurantâ. However this âspecial dishâ was completely overcooked (see picture). It was impossible to eat and we returned the dish. When we said about that we expected the restaurant to replace the dish however they didnât.Then we expected them not including this into the bill - it was charged in full(.This case and disloyalty to customers spoiled all positive impression about this restaurant. To be completely fair, I should say the meat & chicken salad which we also ordered -they were good.

A Typico Portuguese Restaurant with exceptional Staff and superb Food
Having been to alvor at least 20 times and never been into this restaurant I know realise Iâve been missing out so much. Our Portuguese family took us last night . It was packed and we were giving a large table at the back. Service was great considering how busy it was. Never seemed stressed and spoke good English. We had prawns for 5 to share for starters ... delicious. Mains consisted of pork shank. Beef Portuguese style x 2 ( best Iâve ever tasted! ) fish light battered with almonds and turkey with mushroom gravy . All meals were finished as it was so good. We had many beers in there and a white sangria too ... plus bread and Olives and the tastiest carrots in the world! All this for 120euros. Amazing value and evening well spent. Letâs just say I will be back this week for more! Thank you for a great meal

Excellent food and service but to be honest Alvor as a whole did not disappoint in either. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and polite. The food was excellent as mentioned. We had four different dishes and none disappointed. The prawn curry has strawberrys at the side (unexpected and just a warning for those like me who are allergic to strawberries - it's a shame as I really wanted to try the curry)The steak was excellent as we're the fried prawns and the small squid. We fed four, had sparkling water for all, a beer, a bottle of red wine, a small/ half bottle of green wine, starters of seafood paté, bread an olives and four main courses and were provided with a small and free glass of port each. All in â¬104 plus a tip of my choice. You get spoiled in Alvor for service and the food quality and this place has to be up there with the best in the local area.Of course, we would visit again.

Contemporary Local Cuisine Best view in town Large wine selection ( Portuguese ) & wine shop Romantic setting
Canât rate this highly enough. Staff brilliant, beautiful views over beach, food excellent. We enjoyed it so much we ate here twice in 4 days. Portuguese steak lovely, and desserts presented beautifully. Had bread and butter instead of starter and breads very tasty. Husband had lamb on second visit, and although thoroughly enjoyed it and wouldnât fault it, he did say Portuguese steak tastier. We booked the first time but just walked in on second visit and still had nice table. Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Only thing I would say is, would be helpful if they had menu on website to help people who donât like fish, same with their other restaurant W.

Excellent grilled fish
We've reviewed this restaurant twice before and were looking forward to eating here again this year. It was even better than we remembered. I always order grilled Sea Bass and it is as good as it gets here. Beautifully crispy on the outside and soft and flavoursome on the inside. All this from a charcoal grill, amazing! My wife was equally enthusiastic about the Monkfish Kebab. All this can be had with wine and beer for around £45.00. Fantastic value. Service is friendly and attentive, and they always remember you when you return the next year.

An October week in Portimao, a different restaurant each night.Reading many local reviews service seems to be an issue but not at Squash. A warm welcoming greeting from the owner/ manager and all the staff all night. I could see the same standards for everyone. The food was good quality with a platter of fresh fish and shellfish brought to our table for examination. Watch the food being cooked in the open kitchens. The deserts were home made not pre-bought frozen versions.Excellent value for money.

Restaurant of excellence located a few meters from the beach of Vau in Portimão, with national, international cuisine and the specialties of the house, the fondue of meat or fish. For wine lovers, this is the ideal restaurant with a wine cellar where you
Visited with our children, blown away by quality of food. You can see the chef/boss cooking the food. Staff Paolo and George very friendly and helpful. We had pork with Diane sauce (delicious) and steak with peppercorn sauce (also delicious) our children had chicken nuggets and chips (more like 1 large breaded chicken fillet) and childs steak and chips (she really enjoyed it) Definitely coming back, it knocks the socks off other local eateries
