If you want to taste typical dishes from Salento this restaurant in Giuggianello is a great place. The starters are varied and rich. It also offers great grilled fish. We dined outside in a pleasant verandah on a quiet street.

We were recommended this restaurant by the staff of the place where we were staying. Just a word of warning. The shutters under the sign will be shut with no indication where the way in is, which is through what looks like an art gallery further along the road. It would have been kind of the establishment to at least put an arrow on them! We were shown to a table outside of which there are plenty. We found both the male waiters rather cocky and reluctant to give us a menu and wine list so we pretty well had to go with what we could see in the way of fish - which looked very fresh and the white wine recommended, which slightly irritated us. The fish was cooked well but the accompanying grigliata de verdura (grilled vegetables) consisted of undercooked aubergine and charred, raw chicory. We had a local artisanal gelato (ice cream with chocolate and nuts) for dessert which was good. This restaurant is obviously popular and the staff super-confident but we are not sure it totally deserves its reputation.

We stumbled upon this place by accident really, and we were not disappointed! We went for a birthday lunch, and couldn't have been happier with our choice of restaurant. It was a beautiful setting sat outside in the quiet gardens, and the staff were exceptional throughout. Most importantly - the food was delicious, and the paired wines were absolutely perfect. Although on the upper end in terms of price, it was totally worth it! We even took home a bottle of local wine for £8 - total bargain.

Typical italian restaurant - south italy (Salento)
The restaurant in a small town of Spongano has outside seating in the piazza in summer, where you can see the locals gather at night and the locals can watch the tourists. The menu is both in English and Italian, and the food was average for the price we paid. Pros - quick service and English menu with local food. Cons - plastic chairs with paper tablecloth, peppers and salt in paper bags, we did not always get the dish we ordered. If you like a fine dining experience, this place is not for you.Hi and thanks for your review. We are a trattoria not a fine dining. Here you Can have an homemade and handcraft experience and making you feel at home without any kind of bling bling. We use paper table cloth and plastic chairs because we have to set the Place up before the service and breaking it down at the end. We are really Sorry if we did not live up your expectations. Thanks for your advice indeed. We Will try to improve

A small sea-food restaurant with a selection of wines from Apulia.
Just beautifully presented food in an attractive cortile. The menu has changed a little since last year and really suits us. Very difficult to look elsewhere when it is this good! Attractive aperitif style Spritz were served to start. Which was a good idea and just the right size.

Located since 1986 on the outskirts of Poggiardo Ristorante Pizzeria Oasis for the past sixteen years has a great structure, purpose-built to house it. The local, family-owned and is directed by the sole owner Raffaele Mauro and his wife Anna; engaged res
Modern and fresh decor, wood-fired pizza, friendly staff. An arancini appetizer was good though it could have been better with a touch of a sauce to accompany it. The pizza is quite inexpensive. It is decent enough, though not exceptional in any way. The wine list is decent and not too expensive.

At short notice and with no fuss the restaurant arranged a table in the courtyard for our large group, on a warm evening (too hot to sit inside). The courtyard was full of tables but didn't feel crowded. Service was relaxed and friendly. We had typical Pugliese food (big on vegetables) and plenty of it. Great antipasti in particular. There is a good, if not massive, wine list, featuring local wines. We found good wines to drink.

This restaurant is just 3 months old. We received a friendly welcome from an English speaking waiter who also helped us translate & choose from the extensive menu. The setting was well planned out with good music in the background. Ideal for either families with young kis or even romantic for couples - as both seemed to be present & mix easily. The food was fresh & well prepared. A great selection of cocktails both alcoholic & non - the recommend local white wine also a great choice & not expensive. the restaurant is well conceived & wish them success they deserve.

Gorgeous garden at the back so a really lovely place to be. Very friendly staff but food not quite up to promise. Excellent starters but the meat that we had (Tagliata and a steak) was a little lacking in flavour. We nonetheless enjoyed it but it was a little spoiled when we had to wait over 30 mins for the bill, despite asking 3 times!

We've eaten here two times, both at lunch. Although called self-service, the food you choose at the counter/buffet is served by the assistants. We found the food pretty good especially the greens and the polpettone with eggplant. Seafood risotto was ok and abundant but would have preferred less quantity but better rice quality, eg. Carnaroli or Vialone nano. They offer to re-heat some dishes at the microwave which we think is not healthy (we would rather have lukewarm food). Both times we had a small bottle of wine but only the first time were offered proper glasses, meaning we had to drink the wine from a plastic glass, like at an outdoor picnic. The setting is very basic without tablecloth of any kind and the venue was cold, not heated at all. Prices are honest.
