8 of really enjoyed lunch today. Most of had one of the grilled fish offering. It was one of the best I have ever eaten. A couple of colleagues enjoyed filet and expressed their pleasure given we were at a seafood restaurant. This place is a must for fish connoisseurs.

Itâs probably the first restaurant I visited when I moved to Piracicaba. There is nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Everything checks out right, from service to food and attention to detail is worth noticing. Visit this restaurant to have the best fish in the city.

Always (very) busy, friendly service, large portions, fresh fish, but not great according to European standards. Pleasant place to experience how Piracicabana families spent a night.
What to do and see in Piracicaba, Brazil: The Best Places and Tips

I remembered eating grilled fish beside the river when I last visited Piracicaba in 2011 so we set off on foot from the Beira Rio Hotel to Porto da Praia. The walk was longer going than returning... this is the off season and we passed several places that appeared closed for the season. We were pleased to find Porto da Praia open for business with fresh fish on the grill. We loved the fish, salad and caipirinhas. Great food and value. The walk back wasnât nearly as long.

Visited here on a sunday lunchtime with a Brazilian friend. The waterside was busy but the restaurantes were relatively quiet when we arrived around 3-4 pm, I would suggest coming earlier for lunch to catch the atmosphere. My friend, Marcello, and his colleagues at San Paulo University come here several times a year, they also bring their families. Probably very little in difference between the top fish restaurants here, but I certianly uphold his recommendation that it one of the best quality spots to eat, and I enjoyed the simple meal we had of two grilled fish dishes and an extensive salad (even had quail eggs in it!). Lively but relaxed place to eat with friends, service very good.

Ãtimo Restaurante Com Comidas Tipicas, Ãtimos Peixes Assados E Fritos. DisponÃvel Em
I was there with my family and we found a worm in our salad (about 1 inch length). I complained to waiters and they rapidly changed the salad. Despite it, they brought another salad (missing ingredients, but with full price!!!) and the girl said the manager sorry for that. the place was crowded, the portion (quarteto fantástico) was too expensive considering it size (small for the price) and quality (sea food over fried). The "manager" was all the time yelling to the employees and at certain point, she just sat down on the floor behind the counter while drink beer. She didn't came to talk to us in any moment and when I went to pay the bill, she stand up and walked away. bad experience for the service, price and quality. What is really amazing because I was there with my family last year and we had a pleasant time. Such a shame! For that they didn´t deserve 10% tip!

Took this restaurant because of tripadvisor reviews. Disappointing. The fish was eatable, but certainly not special, the salads simple. Best was the view on the river with several attactive bird species. The price for food was ok. For really good fish there are better, but much more expensive places in Piracicaba.

Portal do Engenho II is a restaurant with varied food, fish dishes and seafood, located on the famous street of Porto, on the edge of Rio de Piracicaba.
Tripadvisor evaluations brought me here, but it is nothing more than a simple Brazilian restaurant. Big portions, very mediocre taste, not what I expected. Certainly not belonging to the top resto's in Pira. The service was okay, and it is not very expensive. Disappointing.

This is by far the best sea food/mediterranean restaurant in town. If you are visiting the city for the first time, this one is a must! My suggestion is to order "Coisas do Mar" (can be translated as Things of Sea, it comes with octopus, shrimp, squid, mussels and delicious saffron risoto! The "Polvo a Galega" is also marvelous, made with a huge and juicy octopus, with potatoes in olive oil on the bottom. There's also a nice selection of craft beers (some of them produced in the city, like Leuven and Dama), just ask the waiter to see them.
