I've been coming to Sint Maarten for 18 years and ALWAYS go to the Gingerbread Cafe on Little Bay at the Belair Beach Hotel.Gingerbread is right on the ocean, no glass windows, you can hear the surf. Very laid back and informal. By now I've tried about everything on the menu and not been disappointed. From being greeted by Brenda, the head Wait Staff or Rufus the owner, to Dewayne or Bradley behind the bar, everyone is friendly. Being recognized when you walk in, even after 49 weeks away, is delightful.Specials every evening: Sat-Swordfish, Sun-Surf&Turf, Mon-BBQ, Tu-Stir-fry, Wed-Lobster,Th-Grouper, Fri-Lamb. I don't eat there every night over my 3 week stay at Divi Little Bay just up the beach (walking distance), but I do eat there 4 or 5 nights a week. The attractions for me are the food is always good, and the staff & service. I know the staff and they know me - Brenda greets me with, "a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of water, right?"Much damaged after Irma, The Gingerbread Cafe is fully restored and better than ever. This may not seem like a "destination" restaurant, but it's MY destination.

This pub is perfectly named Lay back Bar & Grill. Iâm so glad my family talked me into leaving our cruise ship Harmony of the Seas at St. Martianâs Port. We took the ferry to the beautiful beach front downtown. My family easily navigated my wheelchair in the downtown area and finished our afternoon with a stop at the Lay Back Bar and Grill. We sat in the barâs wonderful outdoor patio facing the beautiful white sandy beach watching the waves. Wonderful musicians played calipso music from a steel drum as we ate our delicious lunch. The prices are low enough you can take an entire family to lunch or dinner and not break your travel budget. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Our family agreed that if we ever stayed on the island this would be our daily hangout place. Itâs easily accessible via the boardwalk.

Popped in for a drink the first day, just a couple of beers. Lovely and clean and welcoming. Went back for cocktails the second day as the one we had further up the bay was cheap but served in plastic cups. This place has style and lovely staff too. No need for extra food as the cruise ship was in view and food already paid for.

We were wandering the boardwalk looking for a place to lunch. The $10 Jerk Chicken special posted on a board outside Kool Vibes caught our attention so we asked about it--it was a breast of jerk chicken with 2 sides. Hmmm, sounds good, letâs get a table for 4. Ordered the 2-for-1 pina colada special and a couple other cocktails. The jerk chicken was delicious although when we tried to order the "special" the server told us it was wings only, and we told her that's not how it was described to us. We did order the jerk wings too and the flavor was fabulous. The food was all good at a reasonable price. However, we all agreed our server was very disinterested. Free wifi if you eat here.

We went to this beach front restaurant as part of a food tour. The shrimp and rice dish , small salad, served us was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and warm and the view and breeze were the best. They have valet parking so you don't have to worry about finding a parking space in this crowded town. If we had more time on the island we would have been back for a full meal.

Casual romantic, relaxed restaurant, ocean front with a great view on the bay, The Ocean Lounge restaurant at Holland House is your choice. The menu is a combination of American, Europe and the Caribbean. Appetizers start at $9 and entrees are between $19
As someone who spends about half of the year in hotels and dining out I have come to appreciate a great spot where the food, people and location is what you would want it to be.I have been to this restaurant quite a few times now during business trips and it never disappoints. The menu has a nice variety and the chef will even make a custom dish if you so desire. The ambiance is as good as you're going to find in St Maarten with a great view of the beach, ocean and sunset. It is for sure one of the better dining experiences in Philipsburg, if not the whole island.

There are a lot of food options and a lot of places I consider 5 stars in SXM but Caribbean blend has the best food on the island. The restaurant and service never disappoint. The drinks are amazing. Ask for Suzette she will surely take care of you.
