Located on South Carolina's beautiful Grand Strand, Pawley's Island is the laid back alternative to the Myrtle Beach vacation. Shopping, dining, or golfing is all within reach. Just south of Myrtle Beach, Pawley's Island is best known for the Hammock Shops, a unique shopping experience of quaint small shops nestled under trees full of Spanish Moss. You can find everything from shoes to local artwork, or you might choose to go golfing on one of the many world-class golf courses in the area. While Pawley's is quieter and more relaxed than nearby Myrtle Beach, the latter's close proximity provides infinite possibilities for dining and nightlife. Murrell's Inlet, a quaint fishing village, and its bevy of seafood restaurants is just up the road and also has a Salt Marsh Preserve. Simple but delicious hamburgers at the River City cafe or finer dining at one of the hundreds of other restaurants are all within short driving distance. After dinner you might seek out one of the many venues for arts and entertainment. The Carolina Opry is well known for its amazing shows. You can see a live show or dance the night away…or both! Enjoying the beach is the obvious activity but there is so much more to do than just that. Parasailing is a popular option, as is a visit to the Huntington State Park to explore the local flora and fauna. The park has many programs to entertain and enlighten both the young and old. On the grounds is Atalaya, the home of the artist Anna Hyatt Huntington. Just across the street is Brookgreen Gardens which features many of the sculptures of the artist as well as the lovely manicured gardens.

I decided to stop here while in Pawleys Island. I have eaten their cuisine on two separate occasions at friends' houses. There is a great selection of delicious take out meals. I chose the Seafood Pie- so yummy with eggs and shrimp inside a fluffy pie crust. I also picked up a Chicken Pot Pie for my daughter and family- she said it was delicious!!! We both have leftovers for tomorrow. The food is pricey, but one does not mind when the food is top quality! I am sure that I will be a regular customer when passing through Pawleys Island. Try it!!!

Weâre staying at the Oceanfront Litchfield Inn (separate review) and figured this would be quick and easy after a day at the beach. Wrong. Service was unfriendly. Service was extremely slow as it took over 50 mins from the time we ordered until we got our food. It was later in the evening and it wasnât full. Food was grossly overpriced. Avoid the grouper basket. $20 for 3 tiny pieces of fish and some fries. $50 for two adults and toddler with no drinks. If you are in a pinch for time or feel like being lazy and donât mind over paying than have at it. Otherwise, avoid.

We were visiting friends in Pawleys Island and we decided to go to the PIT as it's called for dinner. Doesnt look like much, but the food and the service was awesome. My granddaughter had a huge cheeseburger with bacon and it looked delicious and she said it was. I had the fried shrimp basket. Shrimp were excellent with nice seasoning and fries and coleslaw. 2 others had the scallop basket and they also said delicious. One other had the fried grouper and he also said it was excellent. A great find.

Not sure what happened this time around but found the quality of the food to be disappointing this go round. Soup was barely luke warm, fries were cold and the fish was kind of limp and sad. Not sure I will go back next time I am down.We are sorry to hear about your poor experience with us. However, we are grateful for your feedback and will use it to become the best restaurant we can be. We hope you will consider visiting with us again soon!

Normally we dine downstairs in the Cabana, but tried the fine dining of Ocean One tonight. WOW, the shrimp and scallops with fire sauce (not too much heat though) was excellent! What a nice way to change up the normal way to serve this pairing!

Ambiance A+Food quality A+My teenage son and I absolutely loved our experience here. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, the music was nostalgic (for me â 80s and pub-type), the service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food? The food was magnificent. Fresh and delicious. We started with the crab cake as an appetizer â as far as I am concerned, it was the best one I have ever tasted; my son ordered the shrimp salad and he said he couldnât believe how good it was; and I ordered the Maine lobster roll with potato salad. Both were wonderful. We opted for dessert and were not disappointed. The flavors of both desserts â we ordered one of each and shared them â melted in our mouths. We were very pleased with our meal and would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Since 1988, the food, service and atmosphere combine to make Frank's and Franks' Outback undisputed favorites among locals and visitors. Two great restaurants in one location. Reservations recommended. Bars open at 4pm. Food service begins at 5pm.
We took our son and his fiancee for their birthday dinner and we all had a great experience. We shared the conch and goat cheese appetizers, 3 of us ordered the 6 ounce filets, all prepared differently and exactly as we ordered them, and my wife ordered the scallop special. We ended by sharing the caramel cake dessert. Everything that we ordered was delicious and our server Michael excellent, even giving us the dessert complimentary for the birthday people. It had been many years since we last ate at Frankâs and it will not be anywhere near that long before return. This is certainly one of the best restaurants along the Grand Strand. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed everything about your experience with us. Michael is definitely a gem! We look forward to seeing you again soon, thank you for the great review!

My wife and I came for our anniversary. We had the whole flash fried red snapper, complete with tail and head! Delish. The entire experience was incredible.
