You generally don't find tourists at this small and cozy restaurant in Capriata d'Orba, at the foothills of the Apennine mountains. The food is typical from the Piemonte region, with good pasta and other nice local dishes. Not a big choice in the menu but that means that is made on the spot and not kept in the refrigerator. In june, july and august it is nice to sit in the garden, instead of inside the restaurant.

Ristorante cucina tradizionale e creativa, tra Ovada e Acqui Terme.Terrazza Panoramica, visita sul Castello di Cremolino. Ideale per Cerimonie e banchetti.
Restaurant La Bruceta, run by Chef Juri Risso, is a simple and excellent place where to experience excellent food. Location is great with fantastic view. Great food and great wine list, with wines from all italian regions. We had fish, great, and we had a local Chardonnay, Mon Oncle from Cascina San Martino. Great fish and superb Chardonnay. Surely I'll be back. Massimo

Even though our visit was on the Monday after Christmas, which we thought would be quiet, we booked a table. Lucky we did because the place was full. It was a cold and foggy night but the restaurant was warm and 'buzzing'. Our chosen dishes were preceded by a very tasty amuse-bouche. Overall the meal was delicious, particularly the three cuts of suckling pig which was a plate we would highly recommend. Unfortunately my starter of mixed nut carbonara was virtually inedible because the sauce was far too salty.
The quality and choice of food is average. Only fish on the menu. Some good menu options with very good prices (water, wine, dessert, coffee included). Unfortunately the primi and secondi off all the menu options were the same. Hardly any choice there. Quality is average, but it is a nice place to eat with small children as they do have an outdoor play garden. Nice location.

Great pizzas, we enjoyed it very much. Our sons (9 & 12 yrs) said it was like they we're in heaven, that much they liked their Margarita's. I could not deny it: I enjoyed my pizza with burata (soft mozzarella) a lot. The espresse to conclude the meal were hot and tasteful. We couldn't resist buying some bread at the counter to remember this place when we were at our apartment again.

Restaurant and pizza.
Walking in Ovada found this pizzeria. There was a que, but just had to wait about 10 minutes. The waiters were very kind and the drinks came quick. We ordered pizza and they were very good; we ordered both the pizza Caprioso! After that we ordered a special Tiramisu and a meringata, both were delicious. We finished with a café Americano. We just had to pay 42 euro, so great food and Nice staff for a good price!

A cosy, quite modern restaurant at a small piazza in Ovada. You can eat outside and inside. Plenty of staff, friendly, good service. Choice of pizza, primi, secondi at good prices. We were surprised by the large portions. There is also a wide range of sea food. The children ate pizza, the rest chose a secondo of grilled meat and some contorni. One person ordered spaghetti alla scoglie. Everybody enjoyed his or her food. We payed 97 euro - which seems a very fair price for what we ordered.

This restaurant has a certain curb appeal. It is located in a nice building which stands out in the monotony of a main road that connects the town of Ovada with Silvano d' Orba on the Novi Ligure route. The restaurant has parking space right in front of the entrance which is certainly a plus in Italy. We dined under a gazebo in the nice back yard which is, in my opinion the strength of the place. It makes the whole culinary experience that much more enjoyable even if the food is just average in my opinion.

We are closed on Sundays (except when there are fairs and flea markets) and Monday evening
If you look over at who I am you'll see that I have reviewed far more restaurants than most other folks. And the majority of my reviews are very favorable thanks to doing research in advance. I rely on TripAdvisor for some of this research so I feel that I owe it to others to recommend great places and warn against others. We ate there this evening since the places recommended by our host are closed on Wednesday. La Trapesa had some good TA reviews so we tried it. The Prosecco was flat, obviously the end of an old bottle. The red wine was absolutely terrible! Again, the bottom of an old bottle. Agnolotti was disgusting and inedible. Served on a cold plate as was the pasta pomodoro which was almost edible. We left almost all of our food on our plates and did not drink their lousy wine. The insalata verde was OK though. The waitress, however, was gracious, polite and friendly. I strongly advise avoiding this place. evening as the places

Ristorante con cucine Senza Glutine, Senza Lattosio, Vegane e Vegetariane. Pizzeria napoletana griglie di carne e di pesce a vista con cucina mediterranea. Paella e pesce fresco.
Enjoyed an evening here with friends, and felt very confident as a coeliac eating here- they are very well-informed of gluten-free, cautious of cross-contamination, and offered a wide range menu, including pizzas (cooked in a separate oven), gnocchi, and they make the majority of the desserts gluten-free - I had cheesecake! Highly recommended.
