Ok, keeping quality high over several years is always difficult. This used to be a favourite of ours a few years ago, and during a week would always warrant a couple of visits. As the recent reviews seemed to agree with this, we decided that it was an ideal first night meal, only just reached the Real Hotel Residences that afternoon. The "no brain" option in this area is the paella or cataplana, as even the poorer restaurants can make both of these to a quality well above UK options.Sadly, this restaurant seems to have focussed on spectacular appearance, and lost any appreciation of quality. The Paella turned up with crunchy rice - a feat in itself, and a huge variety of meats and shellfish. Looking good so far, but once you started chewing, it was clear that we may never finish any of the seafood, which was unbelievably over cooked to the (presumed) texture of tarmac. The giant prawns could have saved the day, but they were clearly not completely fresh, and also were tough, and hence inedible.Oh well, there were four or five types of meat to try and save something of the dish, sadly these were either little lumps of gristle, but more commonly cooked to slime, looking all flavour and texture. An attempt to call over staff to discuss the problems went unheeded, and when we had our virtually full Paella Dish removed along with the huge residual food we had tried, there was no interest from the server to discuss the issues, or get someone else over from their team.I realise that this was one meal, on one night, but looking around other tables, it did not appear to be a unique experience.Maybe the Trip Advisor rating is high from the past, and not reflecting the amazing call in quality we experienced.

Coming from Real Marina, past the fish Market and Lagar Mar is the first Restaurant on the left
Excellent lunch in the terrace area having had both fresh tuna fish cooked on a frying pan with sweet onions. The service was good with experienced staff . Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Olhao ideally for a pleasant lunch after the Saturday market.

Regional Portuguese Restaurant.
It took 20 minutes to get drinks, 30 minutes to be able to order, after having asked twice. Weâve been here for one hour, and not only havenât we be served anything, but there is no ETA for our food and nobody has even come to apologize for the delay. Of course we understand that there may be some wait and weâre not in a rush, but still: some understanding would be welcome, and basically one hour is too long. Period.Hello Mr. Plemanh! There really is no excuse for such a long wait. We give ourselves the best every day for our customers to be satisfied. We will try to improve in the future. And the food was good? Ã do Fernando wishes you and yours all the best.Thank you.

On the sea front alongside the Fishermenâs Wharf in Fuzeta, you will find the Dos Mestres, one of 2 restaurants to enjoy this position. Both display a wide variety of locally caught fish & BBQ outside your meal. Meats are also available along with other suggestions, but noticeably every table was enjoying the fish.Carafes of local wine are available, alongside several Portuguese vineyards offerings.Once again, it was nice to see the local people dining in this restaurant. On a Summers evening, enjoying the warmth, you can dine outside & soak up the atmosphere.

What to do and see in Olhao, Portugal: The Best Places and Tips

This place had good reviews & always looked busy so we wanted to try it & it took 2 attempts to get a table. We were disappointed. Our wine & bottle of sparking water were both served to the table warm & our food, though lots of it, was very bland & under seasoned. Too many good other eateries in Olhão to warrant a second visit.

Our aim is to serve delicious and traditional Portuguese food, based on a Mediterranean diet of meat, shellfish and seafood. All our fish is sourced from the local lagoon known as "Ria Formosa". Local produce such as Bread, Wine, Olive Oil and Cheeses are
Prazeres was a great success. The food was simple, beautifully cooked and plentiful. We particuIarly enjoyed the specials and the service was warm friendly and fun. This was our favourite of the restaurants along the Av 5 de Out and I happily recommend it

Local joint slightly off the beaten track, a few steps from Olhaoâs wonderful markets, where we buy whatâs freshest each morning. Fresh tapas/petiscos, salads and a handful of fish and meat dishes every day. Oh, and our desserts are always gluten free. We
Hand written menus with lots of fresh fish, no compromise to tourists, (no chips) and genuinely friendly service. We had different starters ranging from âsheepâsâ cheese with honey, fig, mandarin, goats cheese and honey and tomato and water melon salad with basil. Three of us had the fresh sole and one of us grilled chicken and salad. All our dishes were excellent. Highly recommended.Thank you very much and thank you for being with us!

Apaixonados pelo Mar e por toda a riqueza que nos dá, temos o camarão como base, sem sermos uma marisqueira. Somos uma Maré de novos sabores, em Olhão.
Up a side street and at first glance doesn't look much but so glad we went in. An interesting shrimp (prawn) based menu nicely explained by a very friendly waiter. We shared a heavenly salmon starter and then had the risotto and the lasagne which were more than the names suggest. Highly recommended.

We are a small restaurant that serves a mix of local grilled fish with " all you came eat" concept .
Fish Paradise in East Algarve region !That restaurant serves freshed grilled frish, 12⬠per person and you eat as much as you want.Sea bass, "dourada", chinchard, salmon... were all just great.Staff was extremely nice, helpful and serving food in a great momentum so that you enjoy your time but don't have to wait too long.No booking allowed, go there early, meaning 12am.
