We had a further visit here enjoyed by four of our family. The view is as great as ever and the View is as good as last time.Mainly fish offerings as to be expected but alternatives also were on offer and as before prices are reasonable, service was good but perhaps a bit more attentive staff would have helped us even more to enjoy our visit. Nevertheless we will be back hopefully soon too.

We have been to 1910 previously, for both Sunday lunch and regular evening meals and generally havenât been able to find fault. Unfortunately today we felt the standards had slipped a little as the beef was very thin cut (as thin as you would get in a packet of sandwich beef from the supermarket!) and quite dry. In the past we have had lovely thick slices of pink, succulent beef but this was a far cry from that to be honest. The sides were still good, as was dessert. Also, someone in our party ordered the lamb confit and that looked better. Itâs not cheap at £22.50 for two courses. Sadly , I probably wonât go back on a Sunday unless I hear things have changed for the better.

Can't recommend this place enough for vegans, veggies and meat eaters alike. The vegan 'fish' is incredible and the chips are the best I've had from a chip shop in years. Worth a visit for everyone no matter what your dietary requirements. And the staff are lush!

Smiths Chippy is a traditional award winning Fish and Chip takeaway. established in 1981 by William Smith Snr quickly became one of the towns best loved fish and chip destinations. Today we still live by William Smiths ethos of making our food affordable
Used a Groupon offer and mistakenly thought this was a restaurant. It isn't BUT it's extra clean; the man and woman serving were super customer focused - there are a couple of tables and we were really looked after. So, not a restaurant BUT definitely worth a visit - oh, the fish n chips were great!!

Stumbled upon this place while walking around the fish quay and onto Tynemouth. My wife and I both ordered the fish and chips which was very fresh and cooked perfectly. There was also homemade tartare sauce and minted peas. The batter was light and crispy too just how we like it.

My Mum's friend recommended we try Fridays, and I'm so glad she did. The food was delicious, the music wasn't blaring, the staff are very welcoming and just lovely. Nothing was too much for them. My Mum would highly recommend the scampi and I would recommend the hot waffle with ice cream!! We will definitely be back to Fridays. Well done guys.Thank you very much. So glad you liked us. Very grateful for the five bubble review. Hope to see you and your mum again and again. God bless

Family owned and operated since 1926, award-winning restaurant and takeaway serving only the very finest local seafood.
Ha ha - just read some of the latest negative reviews for Coleman's Fish and Chip Shop. Yes it sells fish and chips and yes that, in the ,main, is battered fish and chips and they are delicious too. If I wanted a veggie meal I would go to veggie restuarant and if I ordered fish and chips there they would no doubt think I was daft ( which I'm not). So why do vegitarian expect an extensive vegitarian menu in a fish and chip restaurant? Beats me !! And as for the food being bland and expensive - are you joking !! This is the best fish and chip restaurant establishment in the north east - so good in fact that apart from frequenting it as much as possible I've been lucky enough to go there twice in the last week. Delicious food, great service and a wonderful ambience. Don't take any notice of the negative reviews - go and experience Coleman's yourself. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
