It's nice to have this gem in my area. This is the restaurant in the clubhouse of the golf course here, Atchafalaya at Idlewild. Locals call it "the clubhouse." The food is really, really good. The Catfish Atchafalaya is my favorite. A bed of rice covered with etouffee and topped by catfish either fried or grilled is plate-licking goodness. But don't lick your plate, for Pete's sake. You're in a nice public place. The uninformed driver just driving down Hwy 90 might not know it's back there. It is off the road down Cotten Road where the golf course is. The room is spacious. It's head to toe cypress construction. The back wall is floor to ceiling windows overlooking the gorgeous golf course, and there's a wrap-around porch. You can dine outside, too, but I don't recommend that when it's warm because of the humidity and mosquitoes at dusk. We've probably tried everything on the menu over the years and it's all good. The seafood salad is humongous. The hamburgers are hand made deliciousness. The blackened redfish with vegetables makes my whole soul happy.
A down-home mom & pop place, if you are lucky the owner will even share some entertaining stories with you as only a local can. Catfish, fries and gumbo were all good. Service was friendly and attentive.
the meals are always fresh and cooked just right. you can have fried or grilled seafood, burgers and fries or lots more on the menu.

Susie's is extremely casual which is what you want when you have the best boiled crawfish and shrimp ever! Susie herself helped us order the right food and the right amount and all I can say is "thank you Susie" for one of the best meals on our trip in LA.

They had a buffet that evening. I went and looked at it and it was a mess. There was food everywhere. It was obvious that no one was tending the buffet. The restaurant was nasty looking too. We decided it would be safer to order from the menu. My husband and I both ordered the chicken pot pie. It looked and tasted disgusting to me. There was a mish-mash of carrots, potatoes, celery and peas all mixed together in a glutenous gravy-like mixture. I picked the carrots and potatoes out of and ate those because that's all I could stomach. The chicken was odd-looking. It was tiny little pieces that looked like chicken dribble. I don't know how to explain it, other than to say it looked like those little pieces that boil off of the chicken and float around in the water when you boil it. Weird. The crust looked delicious, but when I broke a piece off and tasted it, it tasted like the smell of a dirty dishrag. I was so disappointed. The picture on the menu looked so good. The waitress was slow and never offered a tea refill. This was our first and last trip to Shoney's. Would I eat here again? No. Would I recommend Shoney's to friends or relatives? No. Did I feel I got my money's worth. No. I think we're lucky we didn't get sick. Do NOT eat at this nasty place.

Owned by Vietnamese it is a unique combination of Louisiana seafood and Vietnamese dishes. Extremely inexpensive and so tasty. Where else can you get pork fried rice with your Louisiana Fried Shrimp?

We just had lunch here, and was very pleased. Found it by checking trip advisor while in the area. The sausage and chicken gumbo was delish. Hubby ordered shrimp and fish basket. Loved the light breading on it, and their tarter sauce was the best. I could just eat it with a spoon. Planning on eating there again while we are in the area.

Located this gem on internet. Wonderful choice providing friendly, prompt service & very delicious menu items. Our choices were: gumbo, potato salad, shrimp, crab & corn bisque, grilled Tilapia entree (well seasoned), sweet potato fries and the huge bowl of Bayou Pasta. Food came out quickly and was the perfect temperature! Menu offers a wide variety and daily specials as well. Lots of locals who know where to go for a super lunch. Make a stop there--you won't regret it!

Upscale dining by candlelight, along the Atchafalaya River. Reservations accepted for parties of 2 or more. Full cocktail, martini and wine bar, also serving dinner for the business traveler.
Have been to Cafe Jo Jos on several ocassions when in Morgan City. The food, drinks, and atmosphere have always been excellent. My only complaint is that they often run out of specific items, however it won't deter me from returning to this great little home owned restaurant. Highly recommend this jewel in the swamp.

Rita Mae's Kitchen in Morgan City, LA is a quaint but amazing dining experience worth trying. Their famous chicken stew is unparalleled anywhere in anywhere in the South. Its inexpensive, incredibly food with a very loyal clientele. This may be one of Mor
We went there for lunch strictly on the recommendation on trip advisor. It was a fun experience, nice lady serving, but food was absolutely nothing to write home about. the place sits in an old shack building and has not seen any paint in 50 years. Inside is clean but everything is very worn. It's also very small: 5 tables and a big Coca Cola fridge. Food is mostly fried stuff and our 6 shrimps with some oven cooked potatoes and out of the can green beans were not worth 5 stars. Nothing against the restaurant but I just want to stress out that it is way over rated on trip advisor.
