A good restaurant, set by itself in the countryside a few miles outside Termoli in Molise, highly recommended in our Italian guide-book, and popular with the locals judging by our evening there. As well as the restaurant, the owners have a sylish looking wine-bar / enoteca, and a few guest rooms in neighbouring buildings. Family run (named after the owners Rita & Bobo), and specialising in fish. An attractive, formal dining room, with an amusing collection of communist memorabilia in one corner of the restaurant revealing Bobo's political sympathies. Slightly confusingly, there were no menus, just a choice of fish or meat fixed price menus (both 40 euros) - we both chose the fish (the waitress seemed surprised when I even paused to consider the meat option...). A mixed fish antipasto plate, followed by a seafood pasta dish (chosing one from about five listed verbally by the waitress), and a seafood main (again choosing one from about five). I had home-made pasta with fruits of the sea, followed by a whole oven-baked monkfish (rana pescatrice) - which was particularly delicious - and then dessert / coffee. We also had a bottle of a local dry white wine, as recommended by the owner, great value at only 10 euros - not forgetting the glass of prosecco that was served on arrival. Friendly and helpful service, though rather inconsistent / intermittent - we were left waiting quite a while to place an order; given an old food menu when we asked for the wine list; and had to ask for bread, despite it being an immediate arrival to neighbouring tables. Diners with limited Italian might struggle - we did a little, and our Italian's ok - but the food was worth the effort. All-in-all a good experience, and a lovely meal.

A Petacciato (Campobasso) Molise, Abruzzo, close to the borders of Vasto and San Salvo, Termoli and Tremiti there is the "Locanda da Lucia" which is the brainchild of a young family, which celebrated and cultivated by always the culinary tradition of Moli
I went there by chance with my family. We ate a couple of starters (impepata di cozze and insalata di polipo) and some first dishes. I suggest you to try insalata di polipo (octopus salad) and orecchiette al pesto (a kind of pasta) with calamari (squids), they were both delicious and I was literally flooded with orecchiette. We also tried spaghetti with vongole and they were also good. All dishes seemed to be really fresh and homemade, that's strongly important for fish dishes. The prices were good, or, at least, in the average. Nothing to complain about it, neither about the service. We didn't wait much to eat.As for dessert? Homemade tiramisu, for sure! You should have a try :)

Consigliatissimo

I went there with a friend and was not disappointed! Food was great and fresh, the owner welcomed us as we were in his house, and we also had some good local wine which was very good value. Will definitely reccomend!

Off the beaten track, this place serves unexpectedly fine Italian food. There is just one decision to be made before you can enjoy the magic emerging from the cucina: choosing between a carne or pesce-based course menuâ¦. You will experience a variety of scrumptious hot and cold antipasti followed by a delicious primo and - if you have time and space - a secondo. Highly recommended.
