An informal bistro style dining experience on the outskirts of St austell, serving amazingly fresh local fish & shell fish, meltingly tender Cornish steaks and interesting European dishes. We look forward to welcoming you...
A group of 13, mixed ages including children, plus some vegans and some vegetarians met up for an evening meal. We were not the only large group but service was excellent. The Kingswood is willing to be flexible on menu choice, understands that children canât always wait, and has a great atmosphere. All food was excellent, taste, texture and temperature. Great choice of drinks too. Service is friendly and prompt but never hurried. The only problem is that they donât have green tea available as an option. But overall, a definite 10/10.

Called in today for bite of lunch. Settled for fresh crab sandwiches and cream tea. Sandwiches and Scones are to die for and the generous helping of jam and clotted cream had to be seen to be believed! Absolutely delicious and served by two of the nicest ladies you could ever wish to meet. Try this little gem, you wonât be disappointed!Thank you for the lovely review - it really means a lot to us when our customers take the time to leave such kind comments. Weâre glad you enjoyed the crab sandwiches and Cream Tea. As you know, Rachel bakes all our scones and cakes from scratch fresh every morning because we think thereâs nothing quite like homemade cake! You must visit us again when youâre next in Meva, Emma and Rachel

We're The Sharksfin in Mevagissey. Fresh seafood, quality St. Austell ales and friendly customer service. Come down and enjoy the view!
We enjoyed a delicious meal of sea bream landed that morning. We were told afterwards that service had been a problem in the past, but this has obviously been rectified, as it now cannot be faulted. The building does not look particularly inviting, but inside the decor is comfortable and the atmosphere cosy. Glad we ventured in.Hi Nicola,Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review :) We're glad you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Mevagissey!

Situated in the heart of Mevagissey. A traditional authentic Portuguese Restaurant seating up to 20 Serving fresh locally caught fish ( we supply the fish ourselves as Antonio, the chef is also a fisherman) and meat. Open for lunch serving Tapas and eveni
We visited on the recommendation of the Airbnb hosts we stayed with. Lovely food in a small restaurant, with one chef and one front of house (husband and wife). I had the monkfish kebab special which was lovely, served with salad and gorgeous mini fries. Other meal was a steak Portuguese bake with scalloped potatoes. Lovely house wine added to the experience. Dessert of Portuguese tart for me, and creme caramel for OH, also lovely. The most expensive of our meals in Mevagissey takes a point off.

Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. We all had Fish and chips. It was good to sit down and just relax. There was a chippy within a stones throw which probably would have been half the price. But takeaway. So you pay for the location and ambience and the staff and service which all was very good.

Roovrays comes highly recommended...And a Charming and ambient evening awaits you...Tastefully decorated with a French influence due to the French Chef and owner. Great value is offered with the Early Bird menu from 6pm till 6.45pm with 2 courses being £1
You really are spoilt for quality restaurants in Mevagissy. Roovrays has a great selection on the menu, and all were beautifully cooked. Nice friendly and helpful service, good size helpings, and all tasted really fresh. We had the monkfish which we would especially recommend. We then came back another day, and the food was just as good. The place is quite small, so we would recommend you book.

What a lovely proper Cornish village Mevagissy is. Ok, a bit touristy, but hey ho we are tourists. Salamander was recommended and didnât disappoint. We had read lots of reviews & were amused by Hazelâs management responses, she doesnât take prisoners! Food was lovely service excellent & great value for money at £23 for two courses. Donât expect high end Michelin Star dining but locally sourced produce, very well cooked. Salamanderwasrecrecommended recomendered recommended
