Went on a recommendation by hotel reception and had the Surprise menu option, 3 courses, all GF and all were not disappointed by any of the food creations. Friendly and knowledgable service throughout this surprise GF meal, all course contents were explained to us when we received them and they were absolutely delicious. Even the GF bread was excellent. Not the cheapest but worth every Euro.

Whilst having heard about this restaurant before we had never made it to a visit. Our first experience was quite nice. One wouldn't expect a top restaurant at this location but after entering the perception quickly changes: a friendly welcome and an elegant interior. Courses were accompanied by amuses and a pre-dessert which was a nice surprise. Not cheap for fine dining but we had the advantage of a special offer .

The chef manages to combine originality, tastiness and attractive presentation, achieving a very high level. We took three courses from a potential five on the June menu and were impressed by all of them. Wine by the glass is fairly priced. While that selection is limited, it was a pleasant surprise to find a cup of Pol Roger champagne there. The extensive and quite interesting list of wines by the bottle on the other hand is rather pricy. The location is picturesque, but the entrance to the restaurant is very modest. The inside is simple but attractive and the tables are sufficiently far apart. We feel strongly tempted to return for successive monthly menu's.

This is a very fine restaurant, with accurate cooking and interesting flavour combinations. We were in an area new to us which had several restaurants listed in various food guides. De Pepermolen was the first that we tried. Nice room, tables well set with good glassware, usually a good sign, and it was in this case. Friendly, informal service. The menu is made up of 6 courses, each with a single dish, so the main decision was "how many courses?". We opted for four, which with nice bread was quite enough for us. All of them were quite delicious, as were the "amuses", especially a tiny cup of asparagus soup. There is a good wine list or you may take a wine arrangement, matching the food with different wines. Our only complaint was a lengthy delay before the main course. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and the skill of the cooking, but a discount from booking online made the final bill a bargain. Definitely a place to return to.

Boutique Hotel | Restaurant | Private Dining | Meeting & Events | Weddings | Bar | Terrace Placed in Voorburg, in the Old "Vreugd & Rust", situated in a beautiful park
I booked the hotel in a hurry for a business engagement I had in the neighbourhood and you would not believe what a surprise I had when checking in. Instead of finding again, just another hotel I found one that is truly amazing. The reception was great, the room was amazing, the atmosphere it gave was a pleasant surprise to all other hotel visits I had in the past. I was kindly invited for a drink in the bar and could not help myself to accept the offer. What I discovered there was something that made me call my wife to arrange a visit with the both of us.I found a culinary heaven for food (even quick snacks) as for drinks. Highly recommend the place to relax and enjoy!

Where to start? OK, the people!!! Outstanding service! Warm, professional team is so on top of their game that star restaurants could learn from them - concentrated, coordinated delivery of an incredible experience that is above and beyond - calming and friendly! The food is superlative in every way - fresh and exotic components in creative combinations that are delicious and yet accessible (without being pretentious or needlessly complex). The presentations were consistently beautiful, accommodated allergies by adding rather than deleting ingredients and were all caringly explained (not the usual robotic citations). We were so glad we took the surprise menu as it was surprisingly wonderful, course by course throughout the evening, not to mention the many thrilling and refreshing amuses in between. The Greek influence is apparent across dishes but is very subtle, leaving space for a fusion experience par excellence!

For my birthday, my wife organised a walkling dinner for 35 people. Everything went smooth. Very good tasting food and the staff is very accomodating and helpful.

The restaurant is in a narrow shopping street, in a well maintained and nicely lighted spacious vintage house. Parking is usually not a problem. Furniture is comfortable, also after a long sit. The enthusiasm of the staff and chef is off the scale. There is no printed menu I am aware of. The chef takes orders and folds diet restrictions into what he has in mind. I have not seen a wine chart. All wines I have had were non-french, a startling exclusion that may be explained by the large role set for the wine supplier, because the sommelier knows her business. Consequently, there is room for improvement, though I should mention that the marriage of the Italian orange wine was original, creative and a huge success, not deserving my misgivings before I tasted the wine. The meal was simply amazing. Every dish was exquisitely presented and well composed. Courses are small, but largely sufficient taken together. The signature bisque was a delight by itself, but IMO the main dish was even better: a symphony of onion preparations with delightful slices of meat, that allowed a number of onion-meat combinations with subtle or not so subtle taste differences. We were there on the last day the jubilee menu was offered. This must be one of the best restaurants in the country. Go there before Michelin discovers it at last. ;-)

We had a great evening meal. No reservation but a quick seating for two. Super food, wine and excellent service as always.

Good (but not great) Italian food in an uninspiring restaurant. Interior needs some TLC (certain parts near the kitchen and toilets even look a bit 'tired').However, this is more than compensated by the friendliness of Donati's young, inexperienced but attentive staff. Donati's other main asset is certainly its terrace - so let's hope for some Italian-style summer days!
