Ok - so this restaurant was the main reason why I created my Tripadvisor account in the first place. Yes, it's true, this review is slightly overdue (just by an year or so ), however my memories are still very vivid of what was an epic night! My partner and I arrived to this restaurant via tuc tuc in a secluded area of Bentota. The staff greeted us with a warm welcoming smile, like most Srilankans we met during our trip. They sat us down in what I think was the best table in the house: a small raft moored to land in the middle of a lake. The place was surreal, at night everything became pitch dark but with the help of candles and the right lighting the ambience was great. I ate one of the best lobsters in my life (and with all modesty I have a decent track record when it comes to eating lobster!). We were both extremely pleased by the evening and if things havenât changed since then this restaurant is definitely 5 star! Thanks your mail. Francisco . We like to see you. Again sri lanka. . And we wish you may godbleass to you and your family . Nandana . Diyasisila .

We were a group of 8 family and friends that turned up at this cafe on our first night in Bentota. What a wonderful place. The food was yummy and the atmosphere and view of the beach was so tropical and fun. They gave us a bread starter and I am not sure what it was but it was amazing. I had grilled prawns and though not super cheap they were super fresh. The staff were excellent as well.

A calm and quiet place where you can have a wide variety of food on your choice with a beautiful scenery of Madhu river.
We came across this place from TripAdvisor itself while looking for a different lunch experience during our stay at shinagawa. The location is great as itâs right by the water where Madu falls to the ocean (recommend that you sit right by the water as itâs much cooler and has a good views) We had the prawn curry with steamed rice and my husband the grilled crab and chips. Both dishes were delicious and the seafood was super fresh. Really enjoyed our visit and will keep this in mind next time We drive past. Note to owners : would be good to clean up the waterfront regularly it would make it that much better!!

The service is friendly, and the food is good, you can have a seafood platter cheaper than anywhere in the vicinity, and it is yummy. Takes a while to cook though.

Booked for dinner after many phone calls not being answered. Had the special garlic prawns which were tiny and tasted like they had been cooked in marmite served with a slice of white toast?!? Then ordered Thai chicken curry which my friend said was tasty. My tuna was so tough I sent it back. Told I would have a new one in 2 mins. After 15 mins when friend had finished eating and the table was cleared I went to find out where mine was. It arrived several minutes later stone cold. Sent it back and didnât pay for it. This place should not be no1. Try sunshine instead and see my review Would not recommend jungleDear valued guest, thank you for taking time to review Jungle Beach Ahungalla. We are sorry that you had this experience at our restaurant. As you can see in our menu the Sweet & Spicy Prawns are a starter, so they are not big sized and that they are served with toast. We are having very clear rules that our service should sell tuna steaks only when they are very fresh, so that they don't get tough. This was definitely our mistake and the management has taken action already. This should not happen anymore. Also it is not possible for our kitchen to prepare a new tuna steak in 2 minutes. Also there for we have taken action and excuse the wrong information of our service staff. He should have offered you a sear fish steak as an alternative. So it would be great to see you once again. You would definitely revisit your review. Thank you and have a nice day!

We had a real pleasure to stop for a lunch at this restaurant. We felt like at home, enjoying a true family atmosphere. The food was great, truely homemade and delicious. Our meal was served on the terrace in beautiful garden.Nothing to add - it is âa mustâ if you are in Kosgoda. And even if the door is closed, you need to knock and talk to the owner to check if they are ready to host you (that was our case) - but it exactly shows that itâs a family restaurant with fresh, homemade food. Thanks for your visit and review. Since we can see the smiles of our guests, we all smile a lot more than we used to do.
