We stayed at The Royal Palms Hotel and one evening decided that we would like a change from our all inclusive format. We chose to visit J Lobster and were not disappointed as we received high quality seafood, at excellent value for money combined with good service. A visit is recommended. To access the restaurant you need to cross a railway line, English people may find this a little daunting but please be aware that crossing such an obstacle is normal in Sri Lanka.

Tikka owns and runs a vibrant restaurant and bar. We stayed B&B at the Tangerine Beech Hotel and wished we'd ventured outside sooner. The hotel was lovely in every aspect however not surprisingly expensive if you are not fully inclusive. The food at Oasis is lovely, tuna, salads, pizza all washed down with white wine and/or Lion beer. Despite our holiday rep telling us not to eat salads or have ice in drinks outside the hotel, Oasis is spotlessly clean, we ate lunch and dinner there loads of times and had no problems whatsoever. Tikka, his wife and his staff are all very friendly and attentive, multi-lingual and if we ever go back to Kalutara we will definitely go there again. On our last night they prepared a table specially for us with candles and flowers suspended in a fishing net above the table. One of the staff has the most amazing Tuk Tuk with full sound system and lighting, make sure you see it!Thank you Dudley for your visit. It was a pleasure to meet you. We hope to see you back one day.Best regardsTikka and Team

We ordered the seafood plate for 3 people. Lobster, crab, prawns, a whole fish and calamari all tasted excellent. Nilantha, the owner, is a very nice guy and speaks excellent English. The music was very nice as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.
