Local owned and run fish restaurant. All fish Caught fresh and cooked by friendly staff. Calamari was has to be eaten to be believed.
I ate here a couple of times on a recent visit to Jambiani. Super friendly serviceâZube is awesomeâand good food, mainly local specialties. Very accommodating of vegetarian/vegan diets. Prices were very good for Jambiani. Pro tip: if donât like waiting, you can order an hour or two in advance to give the staff time to organize everything.

Stumbled into here having been taking a stroll down the beach looking for somewhere for dinnerI recognised the name from trip advisor and gave it a chance It was literally the best fish curry I have ever had. Great portions. And Pepe the host was awesome and went above and beyond.Nothing glamorous here but great food! Would recommend

karibu is not your ordinary place, thats for sure. we arrived around 0900pm and couldnt find anyone at first, also there was no visible dining-area plus it was INSANELY hot in there. suddenly and out of nowhere the infamous hassan appeared. we tactually old him that were leaving because the whole place was so airless and smuthery but he just followed us outside and continued talking about how amazing his food was so we stayed and listened for a while. in the end we agreed on him setting up a dining area outside for us...he told us to be back in one hour so we just went to the italian place closeby to grab a couple of beers. when we returned, hassan had already prepared his backyard for us...large table, enough chairs, all placed on an extra carpet and INSANE amounts of very delicious food. we were 5 in total, of those 5, 2 are vegetarians which we let hassan know before hand - so no problem here as well. you dont order specific dishes, you just eat whats on the table there...and you wont be disappointed.everbody was very happy after diner. as a nice gesture, hassan also came to clean, soap and rub our hands with ointment afterwards.also, given the quality, you don't pay a whole lot of money...for us it was about 10⬠pP.

We didn't stay at Blue Oyster but we did visit 4 times for lunch during our 6 day stay at Jambiani. The food is delicious; generous portions, loads of vegetarian options and really friendly staff. The views are beautiful from the beach bar. Prices are the best value along Jambiani beach and you don't have to wait ages for food.

Definitely not the best option to eat and sleep when in Jambiani. There are much better places around. Staff is very slow and not always friendly. Quit busy with there own telephones and friends. For example: when you book a taxi you don't get the best and safest driver, but the one who's there friend and give them the best commission. Rooms are very poor, simple and old. In desparate need of a renovation.Beste Dennis en Bart, not the best place, to adress your comments...From 2 adult guys I would have expected that I don't need to tell you that at the moment something is not according your expectations you should contact us directly face to face. The first evening of your stay you had dinner in our restaurant, my brother spoke with you and you told him the food was excellent.. Regarding the staff I surely can imagine you find them slow since you come from the Netherlands where a lot of people live a stressfull life at an extremely high pace which leads to a lot of irritation between people or in the worst case even burnouts. People here take it a little more easy and try to enjoy life to the max. Pity you couldn't let it go..On the other hand I have to disagree on your comment about unfriendly staff. Our staff is highly ranked regarding friendliness and positive guest relation, if you need some feedback about that check our reviews..Regarding the rooms you get what you pay for. Yes our rooms are simple, do we mention differently? Still you have a kingsize bed with matrasses imported from Europe, ceiling fans inside the mosquito nets to keep you cool, hot water from the Grohe shower sets, 10 meter from the beach and a private seaview terrace..Then the cherry on the pie.. Amazing that you dare to speak about the taxi driver. At your checkout you requested a taxi to fumba lodge. The front office manager called the taxi driver to inquire for the price. The driver mentioned his price and then you started to convince him that fumba lodge was at the same distance as the airport. You requested the same price as you paid to come from the airport since you assured him it will not be further. To make a long story short, you made this driver bring you to fumba lodge which was in total 30km more than what you said for the same price to go to the airport, shame on you!We highly appreciate feedback from our guests, but stay with the facts, and be honest.I hope after reading my feedback you will be able to evaluate all you just said and perhaps evaluate your way of communication as this is only degenerative instead of constructive..All in all we understand we can't please 100% of our guests, as long as we hit that 99% as we do we are happy. But try to be fair and don't put your unhappiness on others..All the best and hope you will have some brighter daysThomas

If you like to share this wonderful corner of paradise, we have the possibility of renting rooms, built in typical African style!!!
We went here twice when staying nearby. The food was always, hot, tasty and fresh. The house wine was ok (cheap n cheerful) and everything was good value. The decor was simple and the view of the ocean is beautiful.. I would definitely recommend for a simple pizza/pasta meal.

Small local restaurant in Jambiani village a short walk from the beach (not on the beach/no seaview). We booked our meal a day in advance. Mohammed the owner only cook accordingly to his bookings. The seafood was very tasty and very well cooked. If you are looking for a local experience this is the place to go to.

Zanzest beach bungalow restaurant is located at the end of jambiani village. We serve italian plates and swahili plates.WE ACCEPT ONLY CASH
This place came highly recommended by someone who goes regularly so we were a bit disappointed to receive re-heated food with questionable salads at high prices. Also there was a very bad smell coming from the kitchen. Maybe we went on a bad day (Eid weekend) but if the chef was off they could have shut for the night...would not recommend.Dear Lucyy990,we are sorry to read your comment, we have several regular customers who come to our restaurant, what we like is give the best to eat well with everyday fresh products, to our customers. I ask you the kindly if you ever come back in Jambiani to try again our restaurant, a bad evening can happen to anyone. It will be our pleasure to meet you and give you more attention.Kindly.Zanzest team

A lovely informal atmosphere where you can choose from grilled fish pizza and local cuisine , great place to relax between a swim in the pool and a drinks Romantic dinners by candlelight poolside . Book your private party , your birthday cake
I can't believe the best restaurantin Jambiani clearly chooses to violate the law and allow smoking at dinning tables despite our complaints.DISGUSTING!!!Dear guest,First we thank you for having dinner at our restaurant twice.Regarding the smoking, first our restaurant is an open restaurant, second we cannot prohibit smoking while in many restaurants on the Island is allowed, this because Tanzania has no any law that states the prohibition of smoking at restaurants, but is the case of discipline, an individual him/herself to understand that smoking can be annoying and troublesome to others. About the complaints, we didn't receive any complaint about this, but i we do for any troublesome or problem, taking action on it is our first rule. But perhaps we will take your review as an advice for our restaurant.Thanks.
