Reviews on Seafood food in Funchal, Madeira Islands, Portugal. Funchal, the capital of the Madeira archipelago, was declared a city in the 1500s, and became an important point between the old and new worlds. The laid-back city owes much of its historical prominence to "white gold," Madeiran sugar. Today Funchal is known for its appealing temperatures, wine and crafts. Top spots to visit include the open Worker's Market, Blandy's Wine Lodge and the Sacred Art Museum. Friendly locals, walkable streets and cheap taxis make the city easy to get around.

Weâve returned again this year and the quality and quantity is as good as ever.Weâve never been disappointed and will be going back again before we leave. The waiters are informative and so friendly. Itâs very reasonably priced (cheaper than others on the Old Town ) and the staff arenât outside enticing tourists in. Locals also eat in this restaurant and thereâs a lot of â returners â. Itâs closed on Monday and if you want to go Friday/Sat I would book or go early. Tel 291221125. Sometimes you may wait a bit longer for a dish because itâs always cooked from fresh, but youâre on holiday just watch the world go by.

Very elegant restaurant with a beautiful terrace serving Portuguese specialities. Prices are a bit high, but food is delicious. I had tuna salad as starter, and fresh fish as main, coming with vegetables. The fish was very good and there was a reasonable portion, but it wasnât worth the 18⬠that costThereâre better quality-price options in the area

As others stated before me, the location is excellent : high on a cliff overviewing a quasi private bay, directly at the cliff edge. Perfect in nice weather. The food isn't bad but to be honest, I would not recommend any of the starters but the main courses are good to very good. We have been several times to this restaurant and only once were we disappointed in the quality of the main course (a T-Bone steak that could rival with an old shoe...). The wines and the service are exceptionally good. But you need time : waiting (with a glass of bubbles that is being offered) until the order is taken, waiting before the food is served, waiting until you get billed. But in that beautiful spot, who cares?

A small family place with a decoration quite kitsch, may be not on purpose. The waitress was super friendly, speaking excellent english and knowledgeable about the dishes and the wines. The chef invented a very good and original dishes for the 2 vegans. It's rare to find a chef so flexible. The fish dishes was our best so far. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Very reasonable prices. We will come back for sure!

Your holiday is incomplete without a visit to Come Together where people make friends and friends meet friends. Come for a meal stay for a drink!
This was the first restaurant we went, after 10h of travelling. My wife had already visited, so it was an easy pick. The service is very nice and welcoming,There is an ocean view from the terrace, and even from the inside tables. You can enjoy a full blast of atlantic sunset while s ipping' nice wine or a cocktail. The menu is very well thought of. Simple enough but also something for every taste. And the pricing. Well, it is a top notch location with a view. But the price of dinner is still very low. Personally I would have paid double for what we got and still be happy.

3 people out of 4 were happy with the food, however, the food took over 1 hour to be served(I estimate 1h and 20minutes). There is no joke. We were with a 9month kid and the wait killed us. Fish of the day was not good. The risotto with seafood was very good.Dear Customer Thank you for wasting your time writing your poor comment and scorning a very low score. It is difficult to accept your review because you not being completely honest.Since you and group arriving at the restaurant you have had all the support of our staf from beginning to the end of dinner.-Our food is all freshly cooked -Your fish of the day was not to your liking because we waited 20 minutes to serve because you been away during that time to try to calm down your baby.Your Dinner since you arrivale takes 38 minutes to cook during the time that you are way.-"The wait killed us" just as you said because the baby did not stop crying and you feelt embarrassed at the other customers.Dear sir your absence from the table during you food was send to the table bot had too be send back to the kitchem since your and wife were not there ,with the rest of the group waiting for you to start dinner. As you saw that night we had the restaurante full off customer therefor you need to be a litle more patient because we love to serv you perfect prepared meals how is our habit. We sory you had a bad experience in our restaurant and will do everthing to rectify it.We are aware that we offer the best service and food possible to thouse who have visited us to this day ,please call again in future SinceryFranco
