I attended the Sagra del Riccio with my friend last Sunday. We decided to eat in a restaurant rather than at the sagra itself. All the restaurants were offering a fixed price menu of â¬30. When we went into the restaurant to book, the owners detailed the menu and were very welcoming, assuring us of a splendid lunch. However, the reality was something quite different. The antipasto for 2 consisted of 4 crostini of bottarga and tomato. The bottarga was rubbery, the slices of smoked swordfish and tuna (?) were dry and tasteless. The pasta course of mezze penne with ricci, pesto and almond flakes tasted only of garlic and the pasta was a long way from being âal denteâ. When I complained to the waitress it took a few minutes before the chef came and said that they used a good quality pasta but grudgingly said if I wanted, she would cook some fresh. No apology was made and she grudgingly offered to replace it if I wanted, so we proceeded to the main course. These were 3 mini fish kebabs with prawns, swordfish and baby calamari, all totally tasteless, mostly likely frozen, and so small that the dish would have been disappointing as a starter let alone as a main course. These were served with 2 cherry tomatoes cut into 4 and 2 pieces of fennel. We ordered the homemade cheesecake for dessert, of which I had seen a slice in the their display fridge at the bar. We were served what was obviously a bought-in dessert in a plastic container with a 'soggy bottom' that didn't resemble or taste like any cheesecake I had ever eaten. The waitress was inattentive and I had to ask for salt and the other quarter caraffe of wine included in the price. The wine was barely drinkable. I ordered a coffee and my friend who doesn't drink coffee asked for a limoncello instead of a coffee and the waitress said it wasn't possible. By this time I was close to getting angry so I drank my coffee from a plastic takeaway cup, left â¬60 on the table and we got up and walked out. As we were walking down the hill, we stopped to speak to a couple and I notice the waitress running down the hill after us, shouting 'Have you paid?' I told her to look on the table. Shameful behaviour. I appreciate that restaurants need to make a profit, but when restaurant owners take advantage of visitors to their town who have come to attend a festival by giving them poor quality food in minute portions so that they can a big profit, then that is truly disgraceful! I won't be visiting Buggeru any time soon. There really isn't any excuse for ripping visitors off in this manner. Vergognoso!

Authentic traditional trattoria for local and fresh seafood and fish at Buggerru, very convenient if you are visiting Iglesiente or went for a climb at Pranu Sartu. There are no many options in the menu. Better you ask for what is available that day and trust the lady that will serve you. Two antipasti with polpo, burrida and shrimps + pasta ai ricci + pasta con le vongole - Everythng delicious. Mineral water and local wine, abput 55 euros total. I will return.

We visited based on other reviews here and were not disappointed! We had a table on the balcony over looking the sea and mountains. The food was delicious and well preserved. It's elegant but relaxed. The swordfish was perfect. Highly recommended!

We stumbled on upon this restaurant as we went to the beach there, initially i thought we would get the tourist treatment ie expensive, tasteless, fast food. Was i mistaken or what!!!This is a must return sort of place, started off with various dishes then proceeded to the pasta which was servied in copious amounts and then topped it off with a fresh sole. the desserts were also amazing but the very friendly owner topped it off by placing 6 bottles of his own after dinner brew on the table. limoncello, limocello cream, Mirto, Mirto Cream and 2 others made of liquiorice, all bottles were ice cold. the shame is we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us so only managed to sip each as a taster; the limoncello cream was to die for, next time i will camp on the beach....the pizzas are served only in the evening as they are cooked in a log fire.

We visited based on a local recommendation for seafood. The seafood anti pasti and the spaghetti scampi (crayfish) was delicious but we were disappointed by seafood the mains which were essentially a piece of fish or seafood on a plate. Literally nothing else. No veg, no sauce, sides or garnish. Maybe that is the style but we expected something more. The pizzas looked great though. It's a good location on the square and the service was friendly if a little slow. If you want gelato don't go to the cafe next door, head left past the square for the perfect selection of fresh gelato!

We dined here for lunch on two occasions whilst staying nearby...we could have easily eaten here for every meal! The food is absolutely wonderful and it is making me hungry just typing this review. The menu offers a selection of traditional Italian dishes...every meal that left the kitchen looked delicious. We had pasta and it was without doubt the best pasta I have ever eaten. Such freshness and quality that is beyond description. The simplicity of the dishes was what made them so wonderful and the taste was out of this world. Sat alongside the stunning coastline and beach views you could not wish for a better environment to be eating such divine food. This is an experience that I will never forget and I can not wait to return here. It is such a popular place...for obvious reasons and it really did make our holiday. Thank you.

The Hotel Golfo del leone on 2 June 2018 launched its new restaurant, in the matchless position above Portixeddu, now under the name of Ristorante Cala Pedrischedda. Their widely reknowned cuisine and their welcoming staff are now in one of the most scenic places in Sardinia - in other words, in the whole world! Not to be missed if you are in SW Sardinia. Pizzeria as good as the Restaurant - nothing to add, then!

There is a menu, and a pizza menu. We had starters, pizzas & beers, and it was all good. The staff were very friendly. Most of the tables are outside, which we prefer.

In the elegant Restaurant, with its wide veranda and panoramic terrace overlooking the garden and the pool, we serve homemade and imaginative Sardinian specialties. We offer dishes based on fresh fish and local genuine meats: typical Sardinian dishes in a
Food lovely and well presented -napkins and tablecloths - hotel traditional inside but yet very modern - we stayed 2 nights. 3km south of Iglesias. Bit difficult to find but explained this on hotel review. Wine list good. They also do pizzas. We had pizzas one night and a proper 3 course meal the other night - would definitely return - very good meal and for us the food was almost as good as the no 1 restaurant on trip advisor for this area where we had gone one day for lunch.
