have been here twice, and will certainly go again. Crayfish the first time, hairy crab the second and there are lots of other delights in store in fact an enormous choice of sea food. Xu Peng helped us choose our food wirh the help of his translator app and then showed us how to eat the dishes. Absolutely delicious [and not too spicy for our western palates]. Within walking distance of the Swish hotel. Loos are clean and there is loo roll.

My mother in law brought me there, the place is very famous amongst Chinese but I was the only foreigner. There is a waiting time, we waited around 30 minutes but you can still go for a walk by the harbor, the surroundings are very nice although not so Chinese looking :-)The interior is original, there are lots of small rooms with 4-5 tables and then lots of private boots for 4 people max. Then you go near the kitchen to order your food, you can choose which fish or seafood you want, then head back to your table and enjoy...They also have smth hard to find in Dalian : the dark beer, not as strong as Guinness but stronger than normal Chinese beer for sure.Anyway, the ride there is nice, the village and harbor are one of those "fake" european architecture but this one is so so kitsch and well done.I recommend it for anybody staying or visiting Dalian.Oh, I forgot to mention that the price is very very attractive... we paid 300RMB for a 10 meal feast between 3 adults and two kids, including the jug of beer..

We went to the Lv Da with a large group for a business dinner. We had a separate room with a round table. The restaurant style is very nice and not the "typical Chinese style" you expect. Food was absolutely great, thanks to our local friends which helped to select the right dishes.Overall a great experience.

Like more Dalian restaurant you need to choose what to eat before you sit down. Very wide chose of seafood and cooking styles. Recommend the squid with pepper. They use fried shrimp and garlic which gives it beautiful aroma.Scallops are nice steamed. Perhaps a little overlooked with the fresh prawns and scallops. Food is on the blander side. It is good if you don't like things too salty.Good choices tea if you are into different chinese tea which can cost up to $35 a pot.Highly suggest you come with Chinese speaker or have google translate ready.Staff don't speak English and allWriting is in Chinese. So for example after you choose a squid, you need to explain how to cook it. Lucky you can pay MasterCard and Amex. Other restaurnat only take union pay.

On 18 March 2011, Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian reopened after completion of a US$1.55 million five month refurbishment programme. The new Shang Palace is distinctly warmer and more sophisticated with a modern decor suitable for a bustling life
Shang Palace is the trademark Chinese Restaurant of the Shangri la chain. Took dinner at the restaurant after a Long flight. Ordered the stir fried goose meat and mushrooms, and the fried XO sticky rice. Both potions were enormous and I'm sure would have fed four persons. Good food and the restaurant offered a fine ambiance with free wifi. Jasmine tea was limitless. Very nice dining choice with pleasant staff. Surprisingly inexpensive.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with plenty of seafood, delicious and great experience. Made the evening really lovely, however, it is a real pity to allow everyone to smoke at the tables when guests are trying to enjoy the good food. Maybe the restaurant could have a smoking room or ban it all together inside the building.
