Things to do in Chanthaburi
This place can get packed & like Puja can get a lot of vans & tour buses. The staff will be quick to take your order but then all sit & watch TV so you may need to wave a bit for attention. When its busy some food is precooked like the fried sea bass.Try the fried morning glory, it comes with so tum dish & the seafood curry in a coconut.I have mixed feelings about this place but it is a long way to the beach for better & not as expensive as Puja. On the other hand its on the water, not far & does reasonably good Thai seafood.
We had stir fried crispy pork with garlic and chilies and spaghetti bacon with dried chilies. Both dishes have such good spiciness. Crispy pork dish is a must. Donât forget to try calamansi drink.
1st of all you may find Chanthaburi foods a little sweeter than North Thai food.2nd this is a family run place & has been here 25 yearsThis place is a Gem of Seafood & we (Farang & Thai wife) eat here weekly. You need to try these, Pickle Fish Salad its sea bass cabbage & mint lemongrass etc then the Shrimp in lime juice & chilli Garlic next would be the BBQ scallop on shell, the pan of noodles & shrimp, the Mud Crab & the oyster omelette. I have never had a dish that was not great! Its much better than the one on the water but also much smaller. get there early for lunch or dinner on F, S & SundayIts easy to find, Drive to Tha Chalaeb on 3146 Last turn right on Prem Pracha Alley before you arrive at the water, park on the left when you see them on the corner.
The view at sunset is breath taking... With fishermen across the water. A sight to remember. Either trying to cat fish, squid or prawns even at dusk or in the dark. From the restaurant. You can view it all. The food is good plenty of choices of many traditional Thai food (seafood) by the waterside.Recommended if visiting or staying over in Chanthaburi.

Yak Tu Seafood is located 30 km from the town of Chanthaburi. Unless you have your own transportation, reaching the restaurant is not easy. However for fresh seafood lovers, the trip is more than worthwhile. We had our lunch after our morning sightseeing and found the restaurant was still rather busy with several tables in the process of finishing their meals. We also witnessed seafood merchants that brought their various live seafood to sell. In the casual dining mood, we ordered variety of seafood of our liking and top-up with few other fresh seafood of the day. The freshness of the seafood and the simple cooking of Yai Tu made a fantastic lunch. We definitely have to return the next time we pass this way.

This is a great place to visit when you are in or about the Chanthaburi area. We visited on a week day afternoon and the restaurant was not busy, so we got to really enjoy the view and take our time. A great setting with great food. Will come back!
crossing the bridge to the neighbouring riverfront to the restored Chanthaboon offers a few eateries, and a change from scenery. Here steamboat is a specialty, but otherwise a few dishes

We have been here several times, the seafood is great & the cooks do a good job on every dish. The staff are good but during the last 3 years the prices have gone up a lot & why not when I have seen many vans & Tour buses with a packed house on any day but on some days you may be the only ones.If Puja is packed & its lunch then keep going to the end at the pier & try the place on the water. If its dinner then try a little mum & dad place that is one of the best Seafood places in Chanthaburi called Surin. It is 1 soi back on the right before you get to the pier It is a little place on the corner 1 block in. Just park on the left. You must try the Fish & veg dish called Pla Pa ( it sounds more like Pla Bra) & the Shrimp in lime & garlic. They only speak Thai but you will get what you order off the menu or have a Thai friend write your order. I am the only Farang in the place each time I visit

For closing, I go for Durian in sweet coconut milk which make me have a sweet dream. Full of flavor and just right texture, this is the most recommended.Thank you for your review.
