Being a lover of winter sun, and last Sunday being a beautiful day for November, we were looking for a restaurant where we could sit outside. We found some tables in a pretty square and they at once agreed to serve us outside. My expectations were raised when I asked for a glass of white wine and three bottles were brought for me to taste and choose, but I was surprised by just how good the starters were; huge delicious mussels in a very good broth and vegetarian tempura for my partner. Wonderfully crisp batter with creamy vegetables inside. The mains, gnocchi and a fish mixed grill were equally good, in particular the grilled salmon was perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside slightly underdone in the middle.

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a trip advisor review. We went to this place because our hosts had recommended it. Either the restaurant was having an off night or it has gone very downhill. Reasonably nice location- this is the only positive point.Antipasti- poor quality, limited quantity and over-priced.Pizza- sub-averagePasta- all over-salted, to the point that two dishes were inedible. We told the waiter when he came to collect the full plates, he just shrugged with indifference.Seafood risotto- not very flavoursome, except for an over-generous helping of salt. I could only eat 3/4 of it because of this.In all, it cost over EUR 70 for food we could barely eat, and certainly did not enjoy. We ate at a lovely restaurant in Ariccia earlier this week and had far better food. Avoid if at all possible.

We celebrated our wedding at Villa il Sogno on March 25, 2016. It was amazing, organization was great, food was outstanding and most of all the friendliness and warmness of the owners. We had lunch here at out first day in Albano Laziale.We had antipasti starter meat and fish, pasta carbonara, pasta amatriciana, ravioli with spinach and ricotta and some sort of fish with pasta. Every dish was magnificent. The service was excellent. A very good experience.

A contemporary and elegant restaurant. Lovely on a summer evening, overlooking Lake Albano. Good classical Italian dishes but also with some flair and creativity. We had a tasty and pleasant dinner of seafood courses. I had my favourite dessert of Tiramisu while my husband had panna cotta with creme caramel. All portion sizes were just about right and the service was friendly and efficient. Prices a bit on the high side.

We recently stayed in Gastel Gandolfo for a couple of nights during Ferragosto. On the day itself our hotel restaurant was closed but we were recommended to the Pagnelli by the receptionist. We had no idea what to expect but were glad to accept any suggestion in case we were unable to find anywhere else which could take us at late notice. We were so pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a member of the fourth generation of the family owners and given a table on a balcony overlooking the lake. The food was excellent and, although it was not a cheap meal, would certainly count as fine dining with unique tastes. We were given excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Before we left we were invited to explore the underground wine cellars. A maze of well set out rooms with a vast collection of different wines and accessories. Well worth it.

Yes the view is spectacular, and yes the food is very good. But what stood out for me is that they forgot my order, so it came out late. I didn't complain, but at the end of the meal our table was treated to limoncellos, yummy baked goods and chocolate. That was my wonderful experience.

We had a set menu mainly of seafood and pasta. It was pretty good and they had a music performance indoors which added up to the atmosphere. I would rather prefer the outdoor seating at night if the weather is good. Although not visible at night, a walk by the lake on the opposite side would be awesome afterwards

Attentive service, fantastic food, good wine. Price very honest given the high quality of the meal. Go for their tomato appetizer if available (the owner grows the tomatoes himself and they are amazing).
