Things to do in Budoia
gentili fin dall'ingresso.

The restaurant is always full and this means that the cost-quality of food is really good. Huge variety of meat, fish and vegetable and the quality is really high. Suggested polenta, sausages and Montasio cheese melt in the pot. The waiters speak also different languages. Highly recommended for couples, families and friends. Easy parking outside. Well done to the owner and his chef!!

Family-run pizzeria restaurant. A family from the province of Salerno, bringing in Friuli the products of his land and the traditions of homemade dishes.
I was pleasantly surprised by Due Lune. The food was really good. They provide menus in English if needed. Also, their price was very reasonable. The portions of food are large, which is an added plus. We got there as they were opening up (7pm); therefore, we got seated easily and got our food in a timely manner. They have indoor and outdoor seatings. It is a very relaxed and casual atmosphere, which I enjoyed. I will definitely go back.

I recently had a business lunch with a colleague at Da Regina in Polcenigo. This is a quaint little restaurant located at the base of the Dolomites, featuring both seafood and meat dishes. The main dining room consist of about 8-10 tables, adequately spaced apart from each other to afford private conversation. It is the end of the winter season and the room was heated by a wood-burning stove. Another dining room opens up to a covered terrace outback for when the weather becomes nicer. Tables are covered with checkered tablecloths and the service ware (plates & utensils) were nice. There is limited parking in a small courtyard, which could prove to be a problem on a busy day. I believe the woman who took our orders and served us was Regina, the owner, who was very gracious and accommodating. She brought us a colorful "bouquet" of fresh carrots and celery, accompanied with a flavored mayonnaise for dipping. We were not provided with menus which is often acceptable when dining in Italy. Regina asked if we were interested in eating seafood or meat dishes. We were interested in seafood so Regina commenced to recite what was fresh in the kitchen. There were several creative and tempting suggestions; however we selected the Paccheri with a Shrimp and Mozzarella sauce. Normally, one does not associate cheese with seafood; however this dish was excellent and featured a light seafood sauce that was worthy of using a piece of bread (scarpetta) to mop it all up.For our main meal, we enjoyed two Orata (Sea Bream fish) roasted in the oven with potatoes and herbs. Regina deboned and served the fish tableside. The natural juices from the fish and herbs greatly enhanced the flavor of the potatoes and were a nice combination. We had a little room for dessert; however, Regina sadly reported that she only had "two desserts left" which lead me to believe they may be leftovers and not very fresh. We passed on dessert and ordered cafes. Prices were reasonable and our meal, along with a couple of glasses of house wine and a bottle of water totaled 64.00 Euro. I suggest you try Da Regina if you are in the area. I will return.

I recently had dinner at Come Na'Volta based on a recommendation from a friend. Located in the center of the quaint hamlet of Budoia, it's like taking a step back in time when entering the restaurant. There is an impressive, massive wood bar that appears to be well stocked, along with a few tables where people can enjoy a glass of wine. The eclectic decor is a mix of antiques and old advertising.I arrived early, so I had a Spritz Aperol at the bar while the kitchen was getting ready. The owner, a nice guy, explained what was on the menu this evening. There was no printed menu, but the owner also speaks good English. The dining room is small, though there is a covered terrace out back for warm weather days. Tables were topped with paper tablecloths and napkins. Nothing fancy, just casual dining.I started my meal with a pasta course of Tortelloni filled with minced sea scallops and shrimp; tossed in a little olive oil, butter and cherry tomatoes. These were very delicious and the portion size was generous with seven tortelloni. I followed this with the mixed grilled seafood platter that included 1 cuttlefish, 2 small shrimp, two small calamari (squid), two small langoustine and fillet of Palombo fish (Dogfish). The flavors were fresh and tasty and the Palombo had a nice crunch to it. As a side dish, I had a mixed green salad that included shaved carrots and cherry tomatoes. All ingredients were very fresh.Come Na'Volta do not made their own desserts as the owner explained that they prefer to focus on quality antipasti, primi and entrees. There was a selection of pastry shop quality desserts to choose from and I enjoyed the Tiramisu.I truly enjoyed my meal at Come Na' Volta and the owner made me feel very welcomed. Prices were very reasonable with my above meal, plus a half liter of house wine and a glass of grappa, totaling 39 Euro. The single problem I found is a shortage of parking. Budoia center is mostly residential and I think residents utilize the restaurant's two small parking lots for themselves. I noted other diners leaving their tables mid-meal to shuffle cars that were illegally parked. Aside from the parking, I highly recommend Come Na' Volta to the TripAdvisor community.

But if you do and you are American, do not spoil it or embarrass yourselves. A true "Mom & Pop" place. No menu, they describe each course. Fed four adults and 1 child (adult plate-steak) with appetizers, pasta, second course, vegetable, dessert, wine for E 130. We were the only English speakers in the place and it was full. Half or less of what I paid for a fine dinner during 2 weeks in Rome, Florence, and Venice. Sea bass for two, duck, tagliatelle w/ porcini mushrooms, tortellini. I would have paid just to people watch. My son has selected it for his going away party site. Lots of rooms, even outdoor play area for children.

One of the benefits of living in Italy for three years are the excellent restaurants. When I left in 2002, the best one was this "one with the swans" as my 6 year old called it. Twelve years later, that restaurant is just as I remember it - elegant, inviting, excellent food and the same perfectly friendly owners I left those many years ago (and the swans are still there.) The menu changes regularly and is based on the freshest options available at the time - this evening I had the gnocchi in duck sauce and each bite reminded me of my regular visits from 1999 to 2002. We kept warm at a table by the fireplace, enjoyed the after dinner desserts and left with the satisfaction of knowing that some perfect places in life remain that same perfect place you remember. Buonissimo!

Stopped in here on a Wednesday night when most of my other favorite pizza places are closed. The place was clean and the decor was modern, the pizza selection was expansive, and the service was prompt and friendly enough. It was not the best pizza that I have had, but then again I have only had one bad pizza in Italy thus far. If you find yourself in the Polcenigo area and desiring pizza, check this place out.

We sat in a room, no flair no atmosphere, rather "cold".We ordered two antipasto of prosciutto and asino cheese: not much to eat and quite expensive for what it was...Pizza: heavy and certainly not what an Italian pizza looks like.Sorry!Expensive, not worth it.

Hotel staff advised me to go to Cial de Brent for excellent food. I took their advice and was not disappointed. The crudo was exceptionally fresh and the sea bream entre was delicious. This is a gorgeous restaurant with lovely ambiance and exceptional service. This is perfect for a nice dinner or a celebration. There is adequate parking on property.
