Friggittoria specialita pesce
I was eagerly looking forward to this place as I'm a MASSIVE lover of fish & seafood. Unfortunately I feel let down, it could haven been much much better. It's a tiny place with a couple of tables indoors and 3 benches outside. I wouldn't call it a restaurant, it's more like a takeaway with a couple of seats.Fritto Misto di Mare, which directly translates into 'seafood mixed fry' is supposed to be a variety of seafood and fish (often smelt, sardines, calamari, prawns, crayfish, scallops, lobster, etc...) lightly floured and deep fried served with a fresh lemon wedge. I ordered the Fritto misto and the other half, a non-pescaterian, ordered chicken nuggets. Both were served with fried potatoes, not English chips or French fries but thick cut skin on English crisps/American chips (slices). I expected an assortment of fish and seafood but what I got was 99% calamari rings and tentacles and 3 tiny shrimps. While I am a lover of deep fried calamari, this is not what I ordered. I wanted an assortment of fruits of the sea, I wanted some fish. For 10 Euros, Obviously I didn't expect lobster, scallops or cray fish, but I did expect some fish. I presume the oil wasn't hot enough as both the Fritto misto and the nuggets were very greasy. You can even see the grease in my picture. A bit off-putting to be honest. They were also seriously under seasoned. Not good. What really cemented the fact in my mind that this place is below par is that the fritto misto was served without lemon wedges. A fish/seafood dish served without a citrus fruit is sacrilege. It's just not on. With lemons in abundance in Italy, it's sad that they don't do this. A drizzle of balsamic syrup and packets of ketchup & mayonnaise are no substitute.I feel sad to write this review as the waiter and chef were so friendly and because the reviews are so complimentary but I am always honest on TA. What I was served was below par. I'd expect professionals to do a lot better.I really hope they improve as I've had better fritto misto even in touristic establishments.Grazie... ...

Tired of having your wife always saying this, saying that, telling you what, where, how...? Well, bring her here, order any pizza and she will shut up for 10/15 minutes. Now seriously, pizzas here are good, I remember when I used to live in Luino and this was already a great place 15/20 years ago. Still today. Please book as you won't find a table on a Saturday night. Only improvement I could suggest is something small for the management, but big for the guests: when total bill is over a certain amount, offering a shot of limoncello or anything else might be something really lovely. Other than that, good job guys!ps: I love you wife! :*

Restaurant looks very ambitious but can't proof standard.Service failed to take correct orders and served the wine late after the first main dish. Food also just standard. No excuse, nothing.Don't go there!Dear Matthias, thank you for having visited us and for writing the review; I noticed the brilliance of writing a review even on Google. A tip: I would suggest for the next time to talk directly face to face so we can dialogue and understand what went wrong.Returning to the dinner. You ordered a buffalo mozzarella with Parma ham and your partner ordered bacon with salami and fried dumplings. At the sight of the dishes you both have shown disappointment (you probably did not even understand what you ordered) and at this point you reported to me that you wanted a Caprese instead of ham.Although it was a Saturday night and pretty crowded hall of the restaurant, I did redo the dish in the kitchen trying to please you.The wine you ordered, half a bottle of Morellino di Scansano, arrived 10 minutes after it was ordered. As regard âstandard foodâ I do not even give a comment. The only fact is that you ate (from appetizer to dessert without advancing anything), drank the bottle of wine ordered, paid for the dinner and you did not even say a word of complaint to the undersigned nor hailed out, showing a deep rudeness.Honestly, I do not think we need to go further.Cordially,Andrea

We were visiting Luino market said to be largest in Europe. It was very busy.We were looking for a place for a light lunch. WE were lucky to come across this very good local Italian restaurant. Very atmospheric with lovely decoration in a very old building restored with loving care. It was a pleasant quiet idyll away from the noisy crowds. A very friendly owner made us very welcome and explained the menu and we had a lovely light lunch of genuine home made pizza and pasta. It was reasonably priced. What we really liked was the airy and well ventilated room out of the strong sun and the hustle and bustle of market goers. Would recommend to visitors to Luino. Would be pleased to return and try their extensive menu.Thank you very much for coming to Level! Hope to see you again soon!
Best Sushi we have ever eaten. The setting was fabulous and the vista wonderful. Roberto and Andrea have created something special here. The food and wine were amazing and service outstanding - we will be back in two weeks and every two weeks after that.

We had dinner here late on a summers night,on a cobblestone street. The food was amazing, best food during our stay in Italy so far. The food was also beautifully presented. Staff very obliging and friendly. We hope we have time to enjoy another meal here during our vacation.

Beautiful location and very extensive hotel with grounds that seem to go go on forever on the shore of Lago Maggiore. There is something for everyone here. Formed rock pathways snake through beautiful gardens and rocky outcrops, past the wellness centre and on to the kids play area and multiple swimming areas beneath rock pools fed by waterfalls. It really is amazing. The hotel with many bars and restaurants almost take a back seat to everything else on offer.A must visit if you are looking to stay a while or simply dropping in to break the drive, round trip Lugano - Lugano which only takes a couple of hours anyway.Dear Mr Jock,it's really amazing for us to feel your satisfaction about your hotelstay and about our restaurant!thank you for your beautiful words about our garden, our services, our Location and position: we're really happy to know that you appriciated everything and we hope to see you soon.we wish you a nice day!1your sincerelythe teamCamin Hotel Colmegna

Sibilla Pizzeria is one of those gems that have been under my nose for years, but just discovered. It's one of the best values in Lake Maggiore area, methinks. There's really a family owned atmosphere, with some of the friendliest service you'll find in Lake Maggiore area. And man, the pizza is good. I highly recommend the Chips Margherita Pizza, with buffalo mozzarella (the animal, not the city)!!!Although I usually also order meatballs on the side, just because I can. I honestly can't put my finger on why I love the pizza there so much (ingredients? oven? secret fairy dust?), but I do.On a complete tangent, did you know that Pizza Hut once sued Papa John's for misleading advertising for its slogan "Better Ingredients, Better Pizza"? Apparently, Pizza Hut had "scientific evidence" that Papa John's ingredients didn't affect the taste of the pizza. Completely unrelated to Sibilla Pizza, but amusing nonetheless.Back to Sibilla Pizzeria. Not sure if it's because of better ingredients, but they do have better pizza than most.

Trattoria Manzoni offers only the best pizza's for a very cheap. For 4 tasty pizza's , wine and some softdrinks you'll only pay about 40-50 euro's. A steal basically! The staff is very friendly. If you're looking for a great meal without spending a lot, look no further, Manzoni is the place you're looking for!

We discovered this restaurant on our way to Luino. It's literally just 5 minutes drive from there. No problem with parking at all. It's a fairly large modern restaurant which is also used quite often for wedding receptions and other festivities. Therefore it is recommended to find out when booking whether there is a large group dining there as well or not. We went on a Wednesday evening fairly early (booked it for 19.00 hrs.) and by 21.00 hrs. the place was full, even without a wedding or reception !!!!!!! Despite this, we (3 people) enjoyed a gorgeous 2 course meal with water and a bottle of wine for just over EU 100 if I remember rightly. Therefore not expensive considering the high quality of the food. Service was great. No complaints at all. And of course, you have the most wonderful view of Lago Maggiore
