ledies ’nd gentlemana genius! Here you realize that is a mental lie believing that top cooking is found in kinky and expensive restaurants with dishes with complicated names! Filippo is a top cook, simple and genuine... amazing fresh fish and the real knowledge on how to cook the best siclian sea food.Grazie!Dado

Malavoglia is situated at the corner of the road that leads down to the Marina di Avola and the redundant tonnara, where a number of bars and restaurants and of a night even in February, lively spot. Friendly welcome though once seated in this not overly large light and modern restaurant, service was okay but nothing exceptional. Menu in both Italian and English with a good range of antipasti, fish and meat dishes. We shared an antipasto, 'insalata di mare', and whilst there were one or two fish, it was predominantly mussels, with a few clams and an oyster. For mains we both plumped for the roasted fish which was pretty good, along with a couple of side dishes. Wine, water, coffee, and service it all came to a 'rounded down' €70 which we thought pretty reasonable. Plenty of parking roundabout.

We were recommended by our accommodation host to visit Domus. The restaurant is located in an old villa building which already gives elegance to the place. Both waiters were friendly, recommended dishes. We tried grilled octopus as a starter which was excellent. Later both seabass and shrimps ravioli was delicious and the local almond based dessert was also fantastic. We highly recommend this place once you are in Avola and fancy a good dinner! Grazie Domus!

A great family-run restaurant. A real family environment. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They really make you feel at feel at home (except that the food's much better). The dishes are typical of the local tradition and really excellent. I had the chance to taste local cheese just delivered by the local farmer

You have try the raviolis with swordfish and pistachio sauce … just amazing!!! We also had smoked tuna and swordfish as antipasti and they were delicious. I definitely recommend this place.

Very modern interior but not necessarily comfortable. We chose to sit outside and risk the mosquitoes. Food was good, attentive and friendly service although it got a bit lax as the restaurant got crowded. May be because there was only one waiter who could speak English. My fritto misto was presented well. Nice and crispy but the mayonnaise and the sweet chiili sauce served were out of bottles. My husband's salmon tartar was also good but the highlight was definitely the dessert pistachio mousse. Good selection of local wines at reasonable prices.

The food is good but I have tasted equally tasty food elsewhere and definitely wasn't expecting rotten produce as per photo. Was disappointed that despite making a reservation, we were seated just right next to a very noisy establishment. It was so noisy we could barely hold a conversation without raising our voices. Not impressed at all.

This young chef knows his way around the kitchen, with original and well-chosen combinations of ingredients. His salmon sashimi was superb and his spaghetti in oyster-water with tuna-eggs is an absolute winner. From the outside you would not guess that there is such a great place inside this building. Absolutely worth a detour.

Ristorante tramandato dal padre al figlio con una storia di quasi 40 anni alle spalle cucina ingenuina molto casereccia pizze gigante è tanto pesce fresco, struttura pulita è ristrutturata
Happened to discover the place by chance since we were parked nearby.A good selection on the menu with very reasonable prices. As a starter I opted for the antipasti table in which I wasn't disappointed. For main I had the scaloppine ai funghi which for what you pay are very reasonably priced and genuine. My friends had pizza which also comes in a very generous size.We stepped in late and waiters were very friendly and didn't even hurry us.The only thing which I couldn't understand is that they do not have a wine list and their wine selection is only offered from the shelve for reds and fridge for whites, in both cases with very minimum selection and low quality.

We were in the area and found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. We decided to try out the degustazione antipasto which was a good choice of different fish. The tartar of shrimp was absolutely delicious. 2nd plate took the spaghetti al Astice.. it was simply to die for, the palate was perfect! Fish and calamari after and although we were too full we could not stop eating as it was delicious. Well done! Would have liked to see more typical Sicilian desserts rather than prepacked ice creams ( Although they where still very good). Keep it up.
