Had a tremendous experience at FSH where the entire party (6of us) ate food which we all rated as top marks. The burgers were amazing, the fish and chips special but the speciality platters at this place set it aside from other good restaurants. Smoked meats, fishes or cheeses were incredible. Even smoked beer if you wanted. Seriously whenever weâre back in Amsterdam we will visit Franks for the experience.Deli onsite too if you wanted to buy stuff to take away for picnics or work lunches!!!!Only negative really is the price. Itâs top notch but when everyone eats well and loves what they chose you get what you pay for - happy customers.Final mention to our waiter who was Amazing! He said he was usually in the kitchen but really this is a waste of his talent. Each of us felt special, we all had his attention whenever we wanted it. He obviously knew the food but also was obviously proud to be associated with the place as it was almost as it he owned it and was wanting us to experience it all. Thanks - we didnât catch your name but you were brilliant.Dear Nick, Thanks for placing such an in depth review. I will defintely pass your compliments on to our waiter who served you. Hope you enjoyed your visit to Amsterdam and we'll be waiting for you to come back next time you are in town.

During our stay in Amsterdam, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining twice at The Seafood Bar. Both evenings the meals were excellent. We were greeted warmly by Ilias, who later helped us arrange a reservation for the second visit. The menu consists entirely of seafood dishes. Each of our selections were expertly prepared and were delicious. The Dover sole was the best Iâve ever eaten. We were fortunate on both occasions to have Juliette as our waitress. As we were deciding on what to order, her recommendations were both helpful and knowledgeable. Juliette was gracious and friendly and greatly added to our enjoyment of both evenings. The restaurant is very popular and reservations are recommended. We loved The Seafood Bar and will absolutely return on our next visit to Amsterdam.

The food is excellent here. Very fresh and well prepared and presented. Good sized portions. Its very crowded with both locals and tourists, as the word is out that this is the place to go and be seen. Its a bit noisy and the pace is franetic, but the servers do not rush you. Its just not a quiet, relaxed place. Make reservations well in advance.

We didn't realise until we got there that the principle of their menu is that it is a taster menu and all you choose is how many courses (4 to 8 courses). Each portion is quite small, and after a couple we thought maybe we might be hungry at the end of the meal, but we weren't. We had had plenty to each but were not over-full. Excellent quality!!!

Fantastic meals, very busy location but well worth the effort. Everything is good. Many full meals or order a couple of their appetizers and a drink! Attractive, well managed and friendly staff. We love this place and make as many trips to it as possible while in Amsterdam. You will love it.

Had a reservation at 19:00 and realized 1 hour before that they tried to push the reservation to 21:00 without even asking. Bad first impression. The 6 course meal was wonderful, everything tasting perfect and catered to our interesting. The asparagus course was a hit for us. Kept us constantly yearning for more. Dessert was truly great with so many amazing textures and flavors. Prefect. My boyfriend accidentally dropped a glass of our wonderful sparking wine on the concrete flooring and was devastated.. I assured him that everything was fine but no one mentioned it or brought another glass for him. It wasnât even cleaned up by the staff.. unacceptable. Our mood was instantly ruined. Seeing as it was his birthday I went to a nearby waiter to make them aware that it was his birthday and that he was feeling a bit down about the glass broken on the floor... they didnât do anything special for his birthday either and charged us for the replacement glass of sparking wine... left a bad taste in both of our mouths.. Quite let down. I was expecting so much more after reading the raving reviews. What was supposed to be our fancy last fancy dinner in Amsterdam turned out to put a bummer on our last day. Regretful. The service just did not match the food.

In the middle of Amsterdam's Jordaan quarter you will come across a cosy seafood restaurant. Seafood with a twist that is... Because we do not only serve a mean classic Fish and Chips (our speciality) but we also offer a variety of mussel dishes, oysters,
After passing this restaurant hundreds of times, we finally decided to visit. They definitely do the best fish and chips in Amsterdam. The chips were as close to what youâd get in the UK as possible, plus they had excellent quality fish and a great selection of beers too. We both had cod and chips each, and shared the shrimp croquettes. All food was excellent. Service was very friendly too. The price tag reflects the quality...if visiting from the UK donât expect to pay what you usually would in your local chip shop. This is more gourmet fish and chips rather than cheap as chips :)We will definitely be back and are relieved to have found somewhere for fish and chip Friday!Hi,So happy to read we finally won you over after passing hundreds of times. Thanks for your kind review, it is good to read you where pleased with all of it.See you again for a fish and chip Friday;)Cheers,Enno

For an experience with a true Amsterdam icon and legendary food encounter do not pass up this eatery. Worth searching for, but not that difficult to find. Rob has been at this location for 40 years and deserves the reputation he enjoys for amazing seafood and fish choices. A cordial fun loving host, owner, and ambassador for all of the Netherlands. And like he says, if you donât have the pickled herring, why are you here at all ?
