As regular customers we were shocked when waiter told us our normal order was suddenly not gluten free. My partner asked about this and was given a lengthy lecture about gluten and told to âgoogle itâ when he asked questions. All we wanted to know and we asked politely, was if the meal would be safe to eat. The waiter was appallingly rude and we had to ask for a manager. Our food was very poor and we didnât eat much of it as we were so upset by the earlier conversation with the waiter. Before we left my partner went to the waiter to make peace and explain that when discussing allergies it should be done respectfully and quietly. The waiter argued and was very rude again even in front of his boss and then ended up resorting to calling my partner a racist. At that point the argument escalated and we left fairly quickly. The manager followed us and told us the waiter would be fired. Whether or not this happened we had the most upsetting and unforgivable experience. Please do not eat here, Iâd hate for you to be treated the way we were.

Lovely hotel overlooking Portpatrick, public rooms all well laid out and beautiful decor, bedrooms to match. Breakfast was excellent too with views over the Irish Sea. Few niggles but none too serious to mention (each to their own) Well worth a visit- recommended

Alexandra Coffee shop is a small cafe opposite the towns museum. The dining area is small but very clean. The staff are very nice and the food they serve was very nice. Service is swift. We tried the soups they had on offer and sampled the cakes. All very tasty and nice and hot.

Family run Hotel & Bar, Catering for Romantic Meals for two to Sunday Carvery's and Family Gatherings.
We all really enjoyed our food. Menu had a great selection but staff were more than accommodating when we asked to go off menu. My wife is coeliac but was able to eat with no issues as they staff were understanding and informative. Chips cooked in their own fryer which means she was able to have them which is not always the case. Also when we received bread to nibble on she had her own gluten free bread which he have never had before usually she just gets left out so it was a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend and will return if we are in the area in the future.

Nestled in the West Coast town of Stranraer overlooking the picturesque Loch Ryan where you can watch the ferries going to and from Northern Ireland and Cairnryan Port. Henrys Bay House Restaurant boasts the finest sun terrace for alfresco dining and view
Flexible timing warm welcome great views.... multi generational family visit ... variety of dishes .. good . Particularly light bites mussels ....Distractions were too much potato and good chips with virtually all dishes ; and blatantly too hot soup . Which caused light distress to two of our party , as they had to delay starting their first course!Portions sizes very acceptable.. not too large ..Pleasant wine by the glass . No alcoholic beer and lagers...Shared desserts were pleasing with coffees etc A very pleasant experience with the exception of soup and excess potato. Will return focusing in on light bites
