HOORAY - an enlightened cafe that doesnât stop serving lunch at 2pm. Iâve had lunch here twice and afternoon tea today. The food is fairly basic but their cakes seem to be home made - had the courgette (zucchini) and lime - moist and tasty.

We had three fine meals at the hotel -- lunch, dinner and breakfast. Lunch was burgers and beer -- good. Dinner was outstanding. We started wit an appetizer with different main courses, complimented with wine. We were more than satisfied. If in the area -- try it out.

We had a really nice Sunday lunch at this little out of the way hotel. The owner accepts non-guests on certain days with reservations only.Started with a locally made gin and tonic, then went to an appetizer of mushrooms in a cream sauce. Main dishes were poached salmon, Moroccan land and a local beef stew, all with really nice sides. Finished with three different desserts.Very reasonable for the quality of the food accompanied by friendly and caring service.Be daring and take a detour off the main north/south highway, but call or email to make a reservation first.

New restaurant and bar offering high quality lunch and dinner focusing heavily on fresh local produce including seafood, meat and vegetarian options.
My wife and I had just arrived in Lerwick and were strolling around for a place to eat. We ended up having lunch at The String. The food was outstanding and we felt that it was reasonably priced. Between us we had a Pork Bao Bun, their soup of the day (potato), Shetland Haddock in beer batter and another special, small langoustine. Everything was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly.

Fantastic views, good location for exploring Eshaness and Northmavine. £24 per night for spacious pitch at the front and £18 for a slightly smaller pitch behind. Restaurant opened Thurs to Sunday when we were there the first week in May. Nice, clean facilities.

Visiting the small town of Scalloway, I heard Scottish dance music being played on an accordion by a young girl sitting outside the Cornerstone restaurant. I went in for dinner and had really fresh fish with chips and peas. Comfort food beautifully cooked! And I could still hear the delightful music being played outside. Altogether a good experience.

Two AA rosette restaurant showcasing local produce, particularly lamb, fish and shellfish
Based on the reviews and trip adviser we decided to have lunch here when we were visiting Galloway. It was as good as all the reviews said it was.The service was great and the food was incredible. We really enjoyed the humor of the gentleman who served us. When asking if things were good he said âno theyâre terribleâ. Then he said why would I say it was anything but good.It was all incredibly good. The mussels were as good as Iâve ever had and the sauce was delicious. The crab legs were also exceptional and the scallops were perfect. We love the small town atmosphere. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and have a nice meal here.

Popped in here for a quick meal the other evening. I ordered a small smoked haddock and chips, when it arrived I was very glad I had gone small!! Very tasty and freshly cooked. The cafe is only small, but very clean and friendly. The chippy part of the shop was constantly busy, always a good sign.

Thi is a modern and well-located cafe/bar/restaurat in the heart of Lerwick. We stopped here a number of times for coffee and gluten-free cakes in the afternoon. The place gets booked-up quickly in the evenings and though we did not eat here I would recommend reserving a table in advance if you intend to.

We stopped for a break here last week when doing the round Lerwick walk. Really nicely decorated inside with a stunning view out to sea. Staff were very busy but friendly. Coffee good but the cakes are mouthwatering. We had a pancake and a triple chocolate shortbread cake. It was divine the most delicious Iâve ever tasted. We had to go back on our last day in Shetland to get some more. Iâve been googling recipes ever since in the hope of recreating it... no luck yet!Ps the toilets are great also , very clean and modern
