We first discovered this valley on a hike from Muottas Muragl on the “gastronomic trail” and fell in love with this picturesque valley with views of glacier covered peaks, cattle, llamas, goats and sheep and the sounds of cowbells and mountain streams. The first time we walked on the marked Trails on either side of the valley. The second time we decided just to walk along the road to be in the floor of the valley which by the way is quite a bit shorter than the trails up on the side of the mountains. The trail to the Val Fex runs right by our hotel in the entire trail was absolutely beautiful.

The views from Hohsaas and Kreuzboden were some of the best during our time in Saas-Fee! Highlights: While my wife and I enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery, the children enjoyed the gondola most of all! Once at Hohsaas, the boys enjoyed a "high-altitude" snowball fight, as even in the summer, there was still snow! Our biggest surprise, was finding an alpine bee! It gently landed on my wife's hand and everyone had a good look. Our favorite spot was Kreuzboden (on the way up / down to Hohsaas). Here there was a big playground for the children, and even a peddle powered go-kart. The boys were in heaven! In my opinion, Kreuzboden had some of the best views in the entire valley! Tips: In Kreuzboden, venture out beyond the gondola station / restaurant for the truly awe inspiring views. The small alpine lake was just past the animal farm near the playground. Despite our initial fears, our three and one year old had no problem with the altitude at Hohsaas!

On our way to Andermatt Samih Sawiris s Project that costs around 1 miliard swiss francs, on a given Sunday we made a short Stop at the Nufenen Pass. Șince months i try to get to Andermatt, we always wake up early, we get ready, then we forget our final destination as, along our way we visit other fascinațing places that Switzerland offers to me every Day. We ended up here and after we ve stopped on The lake of Lugano... If you can cope with high altitude, snow în July, stunning views and very beautiful scenary to take pictures:do it!! Pictures are not many, as I felt asleep on our way back due to the change of altitude:Crans montana 1600,sierre 533,Nufenen Pass 2478,Lake Lugano 271 m. ???????????? Still we did it and next week s Target îs to touch Switzerland, France and italy în The same day.... Andermatt can wait a bit. I shall post an unusual song, Gladiator-Now we are free, but don t ask me why. I ve heard that Men Cry whole watching "Gladiator" and women while watching "Titanic" . Me, i ve cried watching "Factory Girl" with Sienna Miller

The wine trail between Sierre and Salgesch is an educational family walk that is accessible free of charge. Waymarked and easily accessed all the year round, the wine trail runs along quiet tracks, passing by the wine-growers’ homes, through vineyards and the impressive Gorges de la Raspille, a site of outstanding natural beauty. 80 information boards are placed at intervals along the trail.

An awesome train stop and a great place to start hikes. There is a restaurant in the train station where you can have a break of a full meal. The view from the station self is stoning. You see the glacier on the other side and you can visit it as well in winter.
