Situated above the Arctic Circle and beneath the Auroral Oval, the beautiful fishing village of Bodo enjoys spectacular views of the Northern Lights and, in the summer, the Midnight Sun. Nearby Saltstraumen is the site of the world’s strongest tidal current, which creates epic whirlpools and draws an abundance of fish. Egon restaurants seem to be a staple of Norway. Their menu is quite varied and the food is pretty decent. That being said, donât expect Haute Nordic Cuisine from this experience; itâs more like the TGIFridays of Norway, which is always reliable. The âCreamy Fish Soupâ is one of their specialities and I can understand why. Itâs quite delicious and filling.

I was here once and I felt a good vibe from the waitresses, but unfortunately the cooks here won't do you good with a taste for over-salty ingredients. They served vegetables covered in salt and sweet potatos I couldn't eat because they were too salty. Very disappointing.Anybody heard "Too much salt is bad for your blood and heart"? Well, if you like salt n' don't care, This is the place to go.I will roll with 2 stars, and they are only for the staff on the floor.

Det hele startet da Johan Løvold åpnet Joh. Løvold på kaia i Bodø i 1938. Johan og kona à got innså snart at sultne mager gir dårlige kunder, og 30. august 1939 åpner Løvolds Kafeteria i etasjen over butikken. Kafeteriaen blir snart en fast møteplass for b
This is the place for the hungry guest who want to have a traditional Norwegian dinner. Good quality food in big portions. And at a reasonable price. If your lucky you will find a table where you can enjoy a view over the harbor and the islands in North.

Excellent food, excellent wine and a very attentive staff. Very knowledgable about wine. Enjoyed the possibility to taste almost every wine by the glass.

The restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday night, so the service was a bit slow too with only one waiter. I ordered the whale carpaccio as a starter because I never had it before, but apparently quite normal in these parts. It tasted like beef, although a bit salty. I also ordered the fish soup as my main dish, and had expected it to be thicker like a chowder, but it was not bad. I did enjoy dessert - three chocolate truffles, each with a different filling.

Bjørk is an Italian-inspired restaurant that is located right in the heart of Bodø. On the menu you will find fresh pasta produced on the house, Neapolitan style pizza baked in our wood-fired oven, grill dishes from our Josper grill, good salads and sweet
Good service, got to reserve a table with very little notice and pre-order the pizzas to be ready between films during the film festival. That was so convenient! The Marguerita pizza is simple and good. The eggplant on the other one was rubbery, tasteless, inedible. If we hadn't been in a hurry we might have asked for a replacement. No waiter came around asking how the food was either.

I went to this restaurant about 7pm. It was not busy. I was seated promptly and served promptly by friendly staff. I ordered fish soup (after all, I'm in Norway) and bacalao (cod). The fish soup was very skimpy on the fish. The bacalao (cod and potatoes in a tomato sauce) was swimming in fat. Their cook should stick to burgers and pizza.

Hundholmen Brygghus is a bar, restaurant and gastropub in Bodø. We brew our own beer from the finest ingredients available, in small batches, which allows us to keep a close eye on quality and precision. We also make real good food, using fresh and local
After a local tour, I wanted to try some local brews and taxi driver suggested Hundholmen. Only had a flight of their brews. Bartender was extremely helpful and I enjoyed talking with her. I am amazed at the fluency of the Norwegian people with English. Very pleased with the service and I would return again if staying here longer.

I knew in advance that it would cost over two thousand crowns for two people including wine, so I wonât write about the cost apart from that it isnât expensive for what you get. (Full menu is around 975 pp plus wine)We were met at the door and I noticed throughout the evening that a staff member waited near the door whenever it approached a time that someone had obviously booked. The service was very good and this was despite the fact that they even had two or more who were under training. They had clearly been shown the standard that was to be offered the guests. We had the full menu and they also have several other items they come out with in between. The courses are all of a very high standard and well thought through. Compliments to the chef for that.I would highly recommend this establishment for any couples or groups who like to remember the experience of a meal and appreciate quality.
