The reserve offers a special outride for experienced riders it was a lovely 3.5 hour ride. I was able to get very close to the the animals and experience nature as it's best! My guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out all sorts of animals from beetles to the white rhino and explained about animal conservation as well as the flora and fauna. The horses are well trained and look happy and healthy the saddle are endurance the reins are western. The lions are currently kept separate together with with elephants Understandably that's not somewhere were the horses want to go, so on an outride you won't see either, but there is still loads to see and who knows as Botlierskop is about to merge the 2 enclosures together so it might change and you just avoid the area where the lions are. Hope they still can offer outrides or at least horse riding safaris, I think there is no better way to see wildlife up close.

We came here for a 2 hour safari on our way back to Cape Town from Plettenberg. It’s around 4 hours drive from Cape Town, or 2 hours from Plett. Reception staff are very accommodating and helpful. Our safari guide Martel was very knowledgeable and tried her best to look for the animals and gave us a good experience. She also answered all our questions and gave us ample of time to take photographs. We saw the elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, antelopes, cheetahs and lots of antelopes and other animals, unfortunately we did not see the giraffes since it has been relocated to another place due to the ongoing drought. We visited on a Sunday and they have a much cheaper rate which was a bonus. There’s a restaurant in sight and their food was good and affordable. Overall, it was a great day out!

Yesterday my adult children snd I went on a dolphin cruise at 9:30. Marlin was our tour leader. He was welcoming and knowledgeable and experienced. The sea was flat and the boat was strong. Soon after we set off we were surrounded by humpback dolphins. It was quite an incredible experience. Then Marlin told us that he received a message that a rarer dolphin species called common dolphins were spotted nearby. We found them and soon hundreds surrounded our boat. We could not get enough of these wonderful animals with their slick bodies diving sliding and swooping through the clear sea water. Before we returned we also went past hundreds of seals moaning and groaning on the Robberg rocks. It was a unforgettable experience that I can highly recommend
