Must visit at least once in life time to enjoy the mountain, river, trees, temple, evening arati over 10,000 feet. Good accommodation and food available. Road coming from Uttarkashi is wonderful with scenic beauty.

Yamunotri temple belongs to Devi Yamuma, sister of Lord Yamraj. The temple is one of the four dham temples in Uttrakhand. One has to walk 6 kms to reach the hilltop were the temple is situated. The walk is fairly steep. Senior citizens can take a palki or a pony. We took pony for our parents. There is a natural hot water spring at the top were one can take bath before going to the temple. Hygiene level at the pond is alright. Must visit temple.

One of Great Dhaam of Lord Shiva, between the nature and the lap of Himalaya, it is a big center of faith and spirituality. High mountains around you attract your mind, and mountains Varunavat directly on the head, you are looking at one up. The holy river #Ganga flowing through the temple and with the chirping of birds around you it seems that all this is telling you every moment "Heaven Is There".
